  • My favourite is Lidl - good prices, I find the veggies last for longer and you get some different meats in there. I generally end up shopping in tesco though because its close.
  • Today was Level 1, Day 5 for me. It is a hard workout, but managing OK so far - although dreading level 2!! Dripping by the end of level 1, but do notice improvements in Fitness every day which is really motivating.
  • Is there much of a benefit in using kettlebells rather than / in addition to dumbells? I was tempted to buy one in my lunch break but walked in and didn't fancy having to carry it all the way home..!
  • I'm on a 1200 diet, and until recently haven't been exercising and feeling surprisingly full on 1200. Since exercising daily though, I've been so hungry! I've been letting myself have 1300 thinking im probably just being a pig, but after reading this, I may try out a little bit higher. Useful post! :)
  • I log my weight in mfp whenever I see a change. I weigh at the same time every day and it doesn't really fluctuate so I use that as motivation to stay on track with my food. Where my diet has been slipping, my weight report does tend to show a rise too.
  • Probably because you're around yourself every day so you don't see the big difference you would see with other people having had a gap between seeing them last
  • I'm the same - just hate exercising. But I know I'm never going to have the figure I want if I don't do it, so like you started up the 30 day shred - currently on day 5 and doing ok. Seeing little improvements day to day is keeping me motivated and actually encouraged me to want to do more to strengthen my body as the…
  • I always log my herbs and spices. I use them pretty generously and they can add up! A goulash type thing in particular I had made came to about 60 calories just in paprika. That was the entire dish mind which served 4, but it did surprise me!
  • I started June 13th so a little behind but will add you :)
  • I like mine pretty simple - cube or chop into fries, spray with fry light and bake with salt, pepper and rosemary.
  • If I'm going out for dinner I will eat light meals in the day so I have the bulk of the days calories leftover for the evening meal. I wouldn't say I eat very little though - I will have something like a bowl of fruit for breakfast and Ryvita cracker breads with ham, dairylea & cucumber for lunch. Still getting plenty to…
  • My stomachs not flat, but its not very big now and lost the muffin top! I couldn't stop stroking my stomach at first, felt so strange having a little tummy! Made me smile every time, been so embarrassed of this stomach and nice not to have to worry about what I'm wearing so much!
  • What about breakfast muffins? There are loads of recipes about. (Made with things like oats and fruit) Or breakfast egg muffins - sort of like mini crustless quiches.
  • I cut down gradually - from 2 spoons to 1 spoon, when used to that cut down to half a spoon and when used to that just cut it out. Can't stand coffee / tea with sugar in now! I've always had my coffee black anyway.
  • If I'm I'll and not feeling up to food I find cup a soup quite helpful. It's easy enough to get down (being mostly water!) but at least it's something
  • Love the sound of orange and poppyseed - will have to see about concocting some sort of a dressing using those!

  • I know they're not a terribly popular option, but I really like my scales. OK the readings may well not be accurate, but its consistent and gives me a similar reading to my old scales. I find it good for tracking changes. The online calculators I found useless - depending on which one you use there's a massive difference -…
  • Day 2 of Level 1 30 Day Shred. Really wondering if I'm going to manage level 2..! So unfit! But if it is too much, I guess I could carry on Level 1 for a little longer :)
  • Are these foods you are logging submitted from someone else? There's a lot of incorrect foods on here with the salt listed instead of converting to sodium which can really throw your day's sodium out - its worth double checking.

  • I particularly like tuna and edamane salad - tuna, edamane beans, lettuce, tomatoes & cucumber with some sort of a lemony dressing, or chicken and avocado - I use the tesco sandwich chicken chunks to keep it quick and easy (the barbecue one is really nice) with half an avocado, lettuce and tomatoes with the m&s honey…

  • I'm on my last 8-10lbs - haven't decided exactly on my goal weight. Starting to get really impatient now that it's starting to slow - want these pounds gone!! *sulks* :)
  • I must admit, slimming world baffles me. I do know a few people that have done really well losing weight on it. Thing is, when they have a "day off" here and there, I have noticed the weight piles on quick. It doesn't teach portion control or healthy eating so when they go and eat their usual amounts in higher calorie…
  • Lol! It should have edited for the rest of the post to be included. I seem to have a habit of jabbing the 'post' button too early. 12 would suck! 1 strawberry a meal...
  • It does sound like you've got 2lbs / week selected. As the posters above have said, changing it to 1 or 1.5lbs a week will give you a better calorie allowance and is still a good loss to aim for a week. I'm on 1200 a day, but I'm short and quite close to my goal. Whilst 1200 is ok, I do find it takes planning ahead and can…
  • I'm 5'4". So far I have lost 18 pounds averaging 1lb a week and have about 10lbs to go. I try to keep to 1200 calories most of the week as 1200 definitely works best for me, but do allow myself up to 1350 if I'm really hungry (mind you, like most, I do slip every now and again!) I do very little exercise though really…
  • Mine does the same, would love to know what causes it!!
  • I prefer to be anonymous to some extent. I keep my weight loss out of general everyday conversation - there are a couple of people i know who can really lash out at people slimmer than them trying to lose weight, but unwilling to do anything about their own and I find it easier to keep it separate. But when someone…
  • Much the same for me. Weight gain is listed as a side effect for birth control, but personally it hasn't affected my weight - my eating has! I'm losing weight whilst on birth control without a problem. Could you try a different pill? Perhaps it's the one you're on that's not working for you?
  • A wrap with houmous, a layer of spinach and then filled with finely chopped up tomato, red pepper, cucumber and celery. Lettuce wraps are nice too - lettuce leaf filled with chicken cooked in a little barbecue sauce and with some chopped red peppers, yum!
  • I generally have breakfast I can take on the go. Berries with yoghurt and granola, porridge oats and dried milk (just add hot water and leave for about 5 minutes to cook) with blueberries, cereal with yoghurt or milk, there are loads of breakfast muffin recipes about which freeze well, or sometimes I will just grab a…
