I have had the delight in joining the best of both world as I train independently with a personal trainer 3x a week and box with small classes 3x a week. Working with my trainer was what made me overcome the bulk of my anxiety as he was there with me through the most uncomfortable/embarrassing of times. Hip thrusters and…

Hey! I'm 24 (soon to be 25). I've been on my health and fitness journey since October 2016 and would love to friend you and anyone else looking for support and encouragement! :)

Mmm avocado toast is so yummy! A recent favourite breakfast of mine has been a kind of potato-less veggie hash of sauteed kale, mushrooms, red pepper and onion topped with some scrambled eggs. So good! I prefer it this way rather than in an omlette because I can have a higher veggie to egg ratio. :yum:

I am a sucker for broccoli. I eat lots and lots of it.

@that_coolnerd Thank you! I love my workouts now! It makes all the difference :)

I'm definitely a regular at both clubs now, it's always fun to go in and chat with staff and say hello to other regulars. I find it also helps keep you accountable. Part of overcoming my anxiety was accepting my body's limitations and realizing that it takes time and patience to learn new skills. With tah being said,…

It is expensive but working with a personal trainer helped to keep me accountable for working out, it also helped me overcome a lot of the anxiety that can be associated with trying new things/working out. I have since evolved to loving my workouts. It is important to find things that you enjoy doing and that give you a…

Congratulations to you on making such a huge change. Cutting back on carbs can be quite the challenge for some (myself, for example :P). It sounds like you are learning a lot as well which is awesome! Good luck and keep up the good work!

You look great! Awesome work!

Hello! I'm 5'4 and hope to lose 50lbs in the next year or two! You can definitely add me! :)

Food Staples: Vega Protein & Greens Vanilla, baby spinach, broccoli, and spring mix, stevia, all natural cocoa powder. Fitness Staples: Weight training and boxing...quality boxing gloves.

I will eat back a portion of the calories if I feel my body needs them. This depends on how intense my workout was or if I am strength training vs. cardio. I try my best to eat intuitively, typically I am eating back the calories in lean protein and leafy greens or fruit if i need the carbs.

@carinamaria91 tempeh is also hard to find in Canada but I get it at health food stores, they usually have a good variety!

Omg all these cute babies! :3

The punching bags at my gym reminded me of Deathstroke and I feel asleep to Young Justice last night.

Silken tofu can be added to smoothies and soups for a creamier taste but also helps to boost protein. I have started adding protein powder (Vega Protein & Greens) to my smoothie in the morning as well as having my protein shake around lunch because the extra 21g really makes a difference in my count for the day. Protein…

It sounds like you have a very demanding schedule. Good on you for making it to the gym to workout regularly, that's amazing on top of all that you are doing. I imagine that the hypothyroidism is the major contributor to you feeling tired, are you taking medication for this? I've known several women who saw incredible…

I use 2 tbsp of stevia with a generous serving of cocoa powder and some unsweetened cashew milk. Amazing, I also add some peppermint extract :)

I seldom drink, but when I do I opt for whiskey as it tends not to bloat me the following day and makes for a good sipper.

I have found that slipping liquid egg whites into my smoothies has given me a boost, they are flavourless for the most part and help me boost my protein intake by 14-28g per day. I also had some PB2 kicking around in my cupboard and started adding it to protein shakes. There are 5g protein in 2 tbsp and only 1.5g fat (45…

None of these things are really super clean eating, but they work for me when I need a "junk" fix. I find that bananas are very helpful for cravings, as well as stevia. I don't use too much of either, but also keep all natural cocoa powder around the house as well as a small bag of semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips to…

@lindarpolk I wouldn't say you're doing something wrong since there are so many factors that can cause a lack of energy: drinking too much coffee, poor sleep, hormonal imbalances, thyroid issues, other imbalances in the body. etc. I had blood work done a few months ago to make sure everything was okay at the beginning of…
