  • The struggle is real. I lost 80 pounds in 2008, and over the last few years, have gained all but 15 pounds back. I restarted my WLJ at the beginning of the year and am down 17#, at day 39. Though I have a ways to go, which is discouraging, I'm trying my best to keep an eye on the situations and circumstances that led me…
  • Ain't it the truth?! BORING!! Though I'm with you...I'm hanging in there. Whenever I stop counting, I start gaining, so I guess it must be done! Congrats on your weight loss! I'm actually pretty much at the same place with my WLJ as you...day 39, down 16.8#. Cheers!
  • I just can't do black coffee...it's like drinking hot bean water. I use Coffeemate's liquid sugar-free sweet cream, which I actually like better than any other creamer I've had...even more than the sugared version of the same flavor. It's only 15 calories per tablespoon!
  • I'm only speaking from my own experience, but for me, when my weight loss is at its slowest, I'm actually not eating enough. Don't ask me why, but normally when I plateau, I just increase my daily allowance of calories by 10-20% for just a few days, and I'll start to see progress pick back up again. HTH!
  • That's a tough one, my friend. When I restarted my weight loss journey at the beginning of the year, I pitched all of my snacks from my filing cabinet...chips, crackers, chocolate, cans of soup, more chocolate...you get the idea. For me, desk snacking is mindless and I quickly lose control, so I knew that pretty much,…
  • I'm sure everyone is going to have a small variance of opinion on how to correct this. For me, when trying to combat a negative behavior, I have to plan ahead. On tough days/weeks, it is a major help to know exactly what I'm going to eat. It sort of keeps my mind from wandering away from the plan...which I might add, isn't…
  • I just restarted my weight loss journey about two weeks ago, and I've got to build up a little more self-discipline before I trust myself with a whole cake. :)
  • Thanks for chiming in! I'm totally going the bakery route...especially since everyone seems to have had the same disappointment with mug cakes!
  • Thanks, I'll give it a shot!
  • Wretched peanut butter. One serving is just not enough and two servings makes me ashamed, LOL...
  • Salt and vinegar almonds! Though I have to carefully count those suckers because I could easily overdo it...
  • Ugh...the calories in frilly coffee drinks. Was in love with McDonald's iced caramel macchiato, until I found that it wasn't loving me back. That sucker has just shy of 400 calories in a medium!!! So I had to turn my back on their deliciousness and die in the inside...that's all. ;)
  • Several years ago, I worked in a small town with a coffee shop that served awesome lunch sandwiches and wraps. One of my favorites was their veggie...a spinach wrap, slathered in hummus, with leaf lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumbers and mushrooms. Served with pretzel crisps!
  • I totally hear you. Have you ever considered baking and selling your cakes/goodies? That's exactly what I do. I get the stress relief of baking, with the bonus of sending it out the door with a client! It's actually turned into a great side-business for me, and there's no chance of me eating any! As far as healthy…
  • I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the advice!
  • Mine all started earlier this year, when I started dieting/losing weight, so my guess is that my situation isn't similar to yours. Though it couldn't hurt to be seen by my doctor just to be sure. Just curious...what did your doctors prescribe to help your condition? An iron supplement?
  • Good point...we only had two kids in 2008. Problem solved. Interesting point though...I really don't feel like I am eating too few calories. I have my goal set at 1.5 pounds per week. Because I work an office job, my activity level is set low (which is honest). I've had others suggest that I should try to work in…
  • I'm going to have to try that! I think I'm buying them too ripe, and could stomach it if it wasn't near mushy. Great idea - thanks a ton!
  • I. HEAR. YOU. I try my best to plan meals that are worth it to avoid feeling unsatisfied. Disappointing food makes me want cake. LOL!!!
  • Thanks! I'm still thinking about that pie though, LOL. Definitely working in a slice today. ;)
  • This is going to sound totally ridiculous...but after a long, overly busy Saturday, I put my kids to bed and snuck downstairs for a piece of chocolate pie. I got it out of the fridge, brought it upstairs with me, and placed it on my night stand. I could literally hear that piece of pie calling my name, when I remembered…
  • This sounds amazing! Which flavor of cheese would you recommend?
  • I do salads for lunch every day, which keeps my calories fairly low and allows me to eat a larger dinner, which works best for me. At the beginning of the week, I decide what type of salad I'm in the mood for. For example, this week was baby spring mix, strawberries, candied walnuts, blue cheese & balsamic vinaigrette. I…
  • The veggie sandwich sounds delicious. Will have to try something similar!
  • Salsa chicken is one of my go-to foods. So easy and amazingly delish. Sometimes I'll sprinkle in some fajita seasoning, corn and black beans to make it more filling. :)
  • Gotcha...so maybe I should just use them sparingly, as a small addition to dishes that I already love.
  • I said it, and I'mma say it again... HALO TOP!!!!!! ;)
  • This is the flavor I've been searching for, week after week, but it's always sold out. I'm almost to the point that I would jump someone in the parking lot for the last pint. ;)
