My arms have begin losing inches! I always carried weight in my upper arms really bad. Iv lost 83 pounds and barely any was off my arms, So i was getting all slim with 232 pound arms still. BUT i just measured i lost an inch in my arms in the past 20 days. Heres hoping their begining to get skinny to! Id love to rock cute tops that show my arms this summer, Never have before21

Tried on my leather motorcycle jacket for the first time since October. It's looser in the waist and noticeably tighter in shoulders! I thought I was seeing bigger muscles in the mirror, this confirms it! I was already excited that I could even get into this jacket in the first place. It's previous owner was teeny-tiny!18

January wasn't the best month food or exercise wise. The only good thing was I found my measuring tape. Still need to take measurements. It's been a while.
Started February off with a cross country trip (Maine to Arizona). Been in AZ for 4 days now and already feel a little bit slimmer. Got my gym membership paperwork yesterday, filled it out. Need to start going hard at the gym. Need to set a routine up, again. Sister's wedding is the end of March. Want to look better for that (one of the bridesmaids) and to be more on my way towards my fitness goals.
I really need to get a bikini (sister has a pool) or even a new one piece.8 -
I did 40 pushups in a row, no stopping, chin to ground yesterday!25

The sun has been out more lately and it's warming up. Spring is coming back. I am emerging from my den. Yes, I'm back on the trail again after hibernating all winter. Ran 7 miles of hills!20

Realized today at gym when I looked in the mirror that my hips are smaller than my shoulders....Even after losing 39 pounds I still saw myself as fat but today something changed I saw the beginning of an athletes body and it is pure motivation to keep going as I have at least 20 more to go to first big goal23

My latest NSV is making some BIG long-term goals and thinking I can actually do them. For a while, it was all about the weight loss, but now it's so much more. We plan on trying for a baby in 2020, so that gives me three full years to work toward my crazy fitness goals before dialing it back during pregnancy (if it happens).
-2017: lose the rest of the weight, run 5 races (including a 10k), hike the two tallest VT peaks
-2018: run a half marathon, hike the Long Trail (goes across VT from the Massachusetts border to the Canadian border. Takes 3-4 weeks)
-2019: run the Vermont City Marathon
WOW now that it is typed out it feels very official. Of course plans are meant to be changed, but it is a victory in itself to believe I am even capable of these things. I am very excited and so grateful for you awesome inspirational people!
How long is the Long trail, I live in Mass and was thinking it was a very long hike and that would be a great accomplishment

The last few days whenever I catch sight of myself in the mirror wearing my workout clothes I actually like what I see! Still quite the pooch of belly when I look at my profile but it doesn't make me want to die, and facing the mirror I see a surprisingly shapely person and surprisingly narrow hips and thighs
I also feel confident enough jogging outside during the day where people can see me bouncing, and I can ride my bike or walk in public wearing capri exercise pants. I still can't do above the knee shorts but just showing any leg is so freeing! Can't wait to feel confident enough to do things like take swim and dance classes. I've spent too much time not enjoying my body.
Oh, and last week I found a new belt I had purchased for my child but that we had mis-measured and was way too big for them (a size 36). They had ripped off the tags so I couldn't return it and I just threw it in my closet for "some day." Now I can not only wear it comfortably, it's on the second hole. I haven't had a belt that fit in many years!21 -
I had to clean my closet in order to find the smaller pants I had stashed away! Saying goodbye to the 18s - hopefully forever!
The new habits I'm cultivating are becoming more natural, which is what I need. I want this to be the very last time in my life that I need to lose more than 10 pounds.18 -
i already knew my obliques show when i want them to show. but this morning i caught myself in the mirror while i was just changing my shirt. even in absolute pot-bellied slump mode they show.
proof positive that those final five-to-ten pounds are all huddled together for comfort between my waist and my knees hoping that i won't notice them (though i do). but still.24 -
This is going to sound totally ridiculous...but after a long, overly busy Saturday, I put my kids to bed and snuck downstairs for a piece of chocolate pie. I got it out of the fridge, brought it upstairs with me, and placed it on my night stand. I could literally hear that piece of pie calling my name, when I remembered that I actually had a cupcake after dinner today (I don't normally have dessert after meals). Guilt started setting in, as I've been super motivated and strict with my calories lately, and as much as I wanted that stupid slice of pie, I took it back downstairs. Even slammed the fridge door, simply because I was royally ticked off about it. LOL! But hey, I made the right choice, I guess. A NSV for me!55

Noticed today that when I was getting up off the floor after doing plank that my knee didn't hurt as much as it used to. I have osteoarthritis in right knee but wonder if strength training I have been doing is strengthening the muscles around the joint just a thought24

Yesterday I went to my favorite off-price store to get some new clothes in a size down. It is a huge store but I went straight to the plus size section. The last time I was there, I was in the 3X's. I tried on some 1X's and they fit well, but sometimes a bit too loose. So I went out into the store to look for XL's but I had no idea where they were! I had never ventured into the straight size area of the store before! Lucky for me, they had some of the exact same XL shirts I had tried on in the 1X, so I bought them. When I tried them on at home, they were perfect! Funny because I wanted them to be a little small so I would fit into them for a longer time. I guess next time I'll have to find the Large section, which is about as familiar as Narnia.61

I'm a runner... a new runner... but a runner non the less. :-) I run several days a week, saving trails for Sundays...my goal is to increase my distance over time, and not focus so much on miles/min (I like the calorie burn and the ability to eat more and it's more Fun for me this way)... well anyway Friday was supposed to be a Really easy 5 mile run in preparation for running a pretty hilly trail run with a group on Sunday (today).... but when I got home and checked my stats... it was a 10:26 min/mile run for 5 miles!! .. and I felt Fine.. could have definitely continued running! That was huge for me to run that pace for that distance without "trying" and monitoring my run to achieve it... and today was great... ran those trail hills for 5.1 miles with the group (no problem) and could have def ran faster and longer, but that was our goal for today. :-)29

I have a certain Mars bar that's been in and out of the fridge so many times that it doesn't know if it's coming or going and will be past its expiry date before its eaten. Well. either that or the children will find it

NSV 1: I'm coming out of a several week slump, but I have logged in every day and kept the emotional eating under better control than in the past!! Best of all, I haven't derailed my progress (measured by the scale or otherwise). Which leads to... NSV 2: A shirt that that has always pulled across the hips fell in a straight, flowing line when I wore it Friday.
And 3: instead of becoming despondent and giving up over the past few weeks, I am plotting a new exercise routine to have some fun and switch up my focus!
It's the little victories that count on this journey. Thank you all for your inspiration!28 -
Another thing to share, when I started this, walking for exercise was excruciating with the pain in my feet, jogging was impossible, and getting a mile walked in 20 minutes was a struggle. I've been mostly exercising on the elliptical but recently I started walking outside more and I find I want to jog because walking is too slow Now I have jogged (very slowly) continuously for over half a mile and I have walk/jogged a 13 minute mile.42

I came back today after a long, long absence. And a 15 lb gain. Feels great just being here again!43

Quite a few of my physical aches & pains have declined with (1) increasing strength, and (2) decreased weight. (I'm 61, BTW).
With improved strength/fitness, my recurring back problems have become largely a thing of the past, and any minor issues that do arise typically resolve in days rather than hanging on for weeks-plus. Some tendinitis problems I had at first while working out are completely out of the picture now.
With decreased weight (lost a third of my body weight), my torn meniscus has gone from being a continuous daily pain to occasional minor discomfort. (I'm a surgery delay/avoid-er ). My osteoarthritis symptoms are also noticeably relieved.
This pursuit of strength, fitness, and healthy body weight has some big, big payoffs.23 -
I moved to Thailand 6 months ago to do volunteer work. I could only bring one suitcase of clothes so naturally could only pack what fit me. I knew I wanted to lose weight so set aside clothes that were too tight and a size or two down. My family came to visit last week and brought the smaller clothes and most of them are too big already!! Made me feel good although it means I still don't have clothes that fit!! Lol.32

A few for me this weekend:
1. Had to get a couple new holes put into my belt. This may help me keep my already-too-big pants a little longer.
2. Ate two meals out yesterday -- healthy choices but more than what I normally eat. Thing is I was hungry, so I ate until I wasn't. Did not log it. And I know it's OK. Not ravenously hungry today and back to normal. Not getting hung up on the numbers / accuracy / etc and just letting myself eat until I was full is a big deal for me.
3. Just got back from the gym. I haven't been able to exercise since September. I lifted weights -- no lower body stuff while I still heal, so all back, chest, arms. Wow, I've gotten weak. But, it's great getting back into it.27 -
I took a 2 mile walk today with my kids! I know it's not as impressive as what many others do. This is a big deal because I am so out of shape and can barely keep up with a 2.5 pace on the treadmill. I also woke up feeling like death because I caught the crud that my husband and kids had all last week. A few months ago this would have been the perfect excuse to not get up off the couch but I did it anyway. I thought I would just get in a mile like usual but it was such a nice day here in Hawaii that I wanted to keep walking to make 2 miles.39
