(Note on vanity sizing - these pants from 15 years ago - that fit me perfectly? Size 22. Comparable size pants that I am buying, now? 16/18)
I hate vanity sizing. Back in the late 90s/early 2000s when I thought I was fat I wore a size 11 or 12 in pants. I'm not sure what I weighed but I know it had to have been around 30 lbs less than I weigh now. Today I'm wearing a size 12 but if I still had any of my old size 12 jeans I know they wouldn't fit.

So, I was thinking about the license thing. How important is it to have a close weight on it? I mean, I didn't quite tell the truth when I last renewed, but now I'm under what I told them by more than I lied by. What a weird way to think about it....
My face still looks mostly the same so unless someone actually reads the weight, I guess it's not a problem.
But yeah, I'm under what I told them by more than I lied by....17 -

New Jersey doesn't have weight anymore on their licenses. When they did, I used to lie a bit.4 -
Another grotty day. Woke up tired, didn't want to go to the gym but forced myself (glad I went though). Was tired all morning - it was just one of those days . . .
Waited until this afternoon for my bike ride as it was just so cold this morning. Was still really tired and on the verge of not going but opting for a sleep instead . . . anyway, got the bike out and started off but after a mile I wanted to turn around and head for home but kept going. I have no idea how as it was really hard to do.
Needless to say, it was a short ride, only 12 miles today. But that's not the NSV, that I went despite being tired. I took a "fun size" Mars bar with me just in case I needed a little boost along the way. The NSV is that I didn't eat it and put it back in the cupboard when I got home.
The old me, when this tired, would have eaten everything in sight. That I didn't eat it is a massive "thing" for me, apart from the fact that I shouldn't have had it with me anyway as I am not supposed to eat chocolate (medical issue).
Oh, and another NSV just occurred to me - my "love handles" have vanished.27 -
Got up early and put in a couple of miles with the dog before work after taking almost a week off because of the flu. It's always hard for me to get back in the groove after taking more than a day or 2 off, so I was feeling like crap but still pretty pleased with myself. Now if this cough would clear up I could get back to normal21

WHAT?!? - How are you supposed to celebrate Valentine's Day properly without Love Handles?!?!
LOL - Gratz!16 -
OK - so, I had a less than stellar start, today... Had an early morning appointment scheduled and another to follow - I thought I should have time for both.
Got to the first one - medical of course - and had to fill our scads of paperwork, even though my Hubby is a regular patient. They then informed me that the appointment - when it finally began 45 minutes after we arrived - would take at least an hour...
When I tried to call to reschedule my second appointment - I couldn't get a person - and my phone was dying.
My phone died and I had to go home to actually make the call - where I tripped and banged up my hand...
When the gal called me back, she informed me that I was not, in fact, scheduled for my regular Tues/Thurs physical therapy - and could I come in at a different time/day, etc...
It was just NOT a great morning.... A series of irritating, annoying occurrences.
The NSV is, rather than grab some starchy sweet substance to stick in my mouth (yes, that was my first thought - Confirmed stress eater, here) - I went to the gym and did a hard pedal for 15 minutes - even though I was short on time. The pedal made me feel a whooooooole lot better... as opposed to the grouchy beast-woman that I had been when I walked in.24 -
I don't feel embarrassed when the person I'm seeing touches my sides or stomach. I used to feel like it would be really off putting for someone else to feel how squishy I am in the middle but it doesn't bug me much anymore (even though it is still a bit squishy)20

"Only" 12 miles, she says... I guess it IS a short ride compared to your usual excursions!
You continue to be awesome.12 -

My husband informs me that my bones stick out enough for it not to be a problem . . . .10 -
What a wonderful thread! I used to think that walking half a mile on a treadmill @ 1.5 mph was a huge workout. Now, my day isn't complete without at least a 2-mile walk or 45 minutes on the treadmill going between 2.5 and 3.0 mph, some afternoon bike riding, and strength training where at least 2,000 lbs of weight is lifted during that time. AND, I'm looking forward to increasing my workout range as my health improves.
My recent, most amusing/embarrassing NSV arrived when my pants realized I've lost 10 lbs, and decided to announce it to the world as I crossed a busy street (they felt like they would stay put when I put them on) So, I get to look for new pants, or at least find a belt, something I haven't worn in about 2 years31 -
My NSV is that I took a trip that is usually a free-for-all in the food/drinks category and I was present and I didn't stray too far off the path. It was really hard and I am really proud that I didn't just give in to the "free zone" mentality.20

I think my biggest victory is that I've stuck with this for a month. I've tried exercise routines so many times but none of them have stuck this long. I love that I am doing this consistently, and not giving up because I've had a bad day/week.
My second victory is that I can now climb a flight of stairs (maybe more? haven't tried) without losing my breath! I was horribly out of shape before since I got zero activity due to my disability. I am so happy for my increased cardiovascular fitness.
My third is increased attention when it comes to food; I'm not logging or counting calories or anything but I am paying more attention to what I'm eating. I'm doing better with portion sizes, and when I decide no snacks or a particular type of food for a day, I'm sticking to it.24 -
i surprised self i wore my belly top out so confidently today...i have major stretch marks on my belly...i could hide the loose skin in the high waisted leggings but still stretch marks and all I rocked the *kitten* out of my outfit.
And guys hit on me. Very bluntly. Multiple guys at multiple spots. Was fabulous.
PLUS
Did that walk and only ate 125 calories today, Not hungry yet but i have a big steak and potato dinner to eat tonight. I have plenty of calories

You look FANTASTIC.
I'll join in and add a picture to the NSV thread.
LOOK at me! I've only lost 10 pounds but it looks like so much more!
I've been feeling like such a blob the past several months and it's nice to see changes.28 -
I have struggled with binge eating throughout my life and have tried to get control of it only to fail numerous times. In attempt to end this cycle, I have tried using mfp at least 3 or 4 previous times. Every time I would do awesome for the first two days or so and then I would get burned out and have a massive binge. I would log it and keep going but, not only did I not lose weight, I tended to gain weight because of the days when I messed up.
Now, I have a new routine and mfp is finally working
Today marks my 30th day of this round on mfp. Each day I have not gone over on calories. I was diligent the entire time with logging and am even seeing results! But, the best part for me is that now I know that I can take on "the Binge" and win

I haven't been on here for a while and I'm having a blast catching up with everybody's NSVs. Go one and all!!
My NSV for yesterday: hubby bought an ice cream cake for Valentine's Day. Logged it, enjoyed it and was still 1 calorie under for the day :-)
Another one: my mom saw a picture of me and asked "Are you sure you need to lose more weight?"
Wow, I always dreamed of hearing her say something like that but never thought it would actually happen. Totally floored!26 -
I have 2 - my husband surprised me with a Valentine's Day gift. (we weren't supposed to get each other anything).
Not food or chocolates - a running/walking jacket and a cool purple water bottle! A year ago I wouldn't have though that was romantic, but I'm so happy! Both that he is proud of my exercise/weight loss and that he listens.
And the jacket, a size L that fits, down from a 2x!41 -
I needed to buy a pair of smart boots for an interview (okay, I wanted to buy a pair!), and managed to find an end-of-season bargain for $5. They were a higher heel than I've been used to, but I didn't think too much about that because I was just so happy to find a cheap pair that actually fit!
I wore them out yesterday for "practice", then today for my interview... they felt a little awkward yesterday but I was fine in them today. When I got home, I decided to measure the heels just out of interest. Those babies are 3" high! My usual shoes/boots are 1" to maybe 1.5". I own one pair of shoes with 3" heels that I couldn't really walk in last time I tried them, I tend to stagger and wobble too much for comfort. I haven't tried them since I started this journey, but I think I will now! I couldn't believe that I felt so stable in those boots, and I can only assume that it's because I'm so much lighter now.
On a related note, I felt damn good today in my smart outfit! I felt confident and really thought I looked great, and I almost never think that about myself!30 -

Call me weird... but I ran our stats together and you had the same BMI as I currently do. (Adjusted for our height difference as I'm 5ish inches taller.) What was your waist measurement? And now? (If that isn't too intrusive.)
I'd like to drop down to 140 and get skin removal surgery. (I've heard it works better when the skin is thin.) Then slowly go back up to 160. Because, like you, I like having curves.
I sent a friend request!
Hope no one minds this off topic chatter... sorry guys!1 -

First pic is from when I first started C25K last year. 2nd pic is from this weekend. I suppose shaving 5 minutes off my mile time in one year isn't bad

Stopped at McDonald's this morning for my semi-regular iced tea (unsweetened). The lady at the counter asked if I'd lost weight, congratulated me, and said I looked good.
And then when I got to work two more people asked me what I've been doing. Yadda, yadda, yadda, and now I'm going to be giving a workplace wellness class on weight loss.35 -
My underwear/knickers kept falling down inside my jeans the other day, so I put some on I'd bought a while back that were always a bit too small for me and not only did they fit but they also fell down inside my jeans the next day! I think I need some new underwear.34

I am starting to see a little definition in my shoulders and collar bone area again. I didn't realize how much I missed seeing those things. I feel like my old self is slowly emerging from the cocoon.31
