I did every trick in the book for years. I did the ice water head dive, held my breath while curling up and massaged my carotid arteries. When your heart is beating at 286 for hours you will do anything to get it to revert back to normal rthyum. I've had it all my life. I'm 53. Only the heart ablation stopped my SVT 286…

I have SVT. I had a heart ablation surgery to burn 3 circuits in the electrical part of my heart. My highest rate was 286 and it was no fun. I've had this all my life but didn't know what it was until I saw a rthyum specialist cardiologist. I had surgery 8 years ago and haven't had the big run but still have little runs at…

PTSD panic/anxiety depression and addiction is hard to handle for anyone. I've never had an alcohol or drug addiction but I've lived with it in my family. I would say firstly that your withdraws from alcohol are present and that kicks up your PTSD and depression and anxiety. I really hope you can find AA meetings near you…

I always have my water with me too. It's a must for me.

I always take a Fiber One bar in my purse when I go out. It helps curb a lot of cravings I get when I see others eating what I use to eat like junk food and fast food. If I'm going shopping I look for the menus for restaurants in that area and plan on eating what I select as lower in calories. I stick to that even if I'm…

I had heart ablation surgery for SVC. My heart jump starts and before surgery it raced to 286 bpm. No fun at all. I have PVC's (drop beats) too. It's scary when you're just watching a movie and you get that drop. I cough to correct the rthym. I haven't had another 286 run since my surgery. This is my first time dieting and…

I'm 53. Started MFP 47 days ago. I feel lost and very confused most of the time. This is my first time to diet. Was in an accident a couple years ago. 5'3" SW 170 CW 159 GW #1 150 GW #2 130 GW Final 125 before accident is where I really want to be. I set up my goals in intervals because I don't want to get overly…

Keep going. Push yourself. I have been suffering with depression and panic anxiety for over 30 years. Try not to reach for the stars but take baby steps. I've started walking and it is making a huge difference with my depression. I've lost 11 lbs since May,2015. Love yourself and give yourself credit for even the smallest…

A home run. Well done. Respect you for apologizing and for digging deeper to reach others with a different approach. We all need motivation and as a first time dieter I know I need it. I had a wreck and was laid up for 6-8 months on meds too. So I gained and then became depressed because I gained weight. For 2 years I was…

I want to achieve my calorie goal, cardio, walking and exercise. I want to stay positive for today and to not worry about tomorrow.

Welcome and looks like we are on the same journey of losing 40-50 lbs. Just started in June on MFP. Glad to meet you.

I'm trying. I've never dieted before and I know I'm doing it wrong and that's why I finally am asking for help with this. I really appreciate all these suggestions.

I've never had to worry about portion control or measuring. In 4 years after I was in a bad wreck that broke my neck and had to do rehab and meds I put on 45 lbs. Now I'm ready to lose it.

I was wondering about getting the scales. Thanks for helping me make my mind up about getting them. Will get some tomorrow.

I only eat the almonds and I only eat 10.

I have panic anxiety disorder and social anxiety disorder and treatment resistant depression. I have been on just about every anti depressant for over 30 years now. Major depression along with panics and anxiety has crippled me most of my life. Nervous breakdowns are no joke and being hospitalized isn't either. My lowest…

Really enjoyed reading all you wrote. It's frustrating for me to weigh and not see a bigger weight loss after 5 weeks.
