My cravings come late at night. I have a cup of herbal teas. Some of them can be very sweet to help the cravings! Then I can have a calming treat to relax and help me get ready to sleep too.

Hello! My name is Leanna. I first started running a few years back when I was in my masters program. More for mental health than anything else. Well, I fell in love and have been off and on with it ever since. I am more of a leisure runner rather than a hard trainer, but I do have a goal now set for a 10k. I'd love some…

I'm in Montana!

I am in Montana, and honestly i opt for the gym when it gets too cold and icy. I stop running outside when it hits the 20s, and i try to stay clear of ice for fear of fall and injury. I hear yak tracks are really great to keep you upright on the ice though! I was considering investing in a pair this winter.

I usually just use the pedometer built in to my phone. I have a Samsung, which has S health that can be a social app with competitions. It's pretty great! I like it better than the IPhone health apps, but still like the iPhone best.

Good luck on your training!

I feel the same! I usually have to do 2 or 3 larger meals a day cause I stress eat. It's easier for me to stay in my calorie range by only letting myself eat a few times a day, but letting me get pretty full!

Thanks everyone for the tips! I went to a great and recommended running shoe store in my town. The gal fitted me for shoes by looking at my arches and feet. I was a little skeptical but she seemed to know what she was talking about. In the end I got myself a pair of Brooks on a great sale, and some free swag! I'm very…

Let's be twins! This is where im at right now, and my goal

I have just started running about a year or so ago. I wanted to start training for a 10k this year, maybe even a half marathon. I'm around 5 miles and young the distance around half a mile per week right now. Is anyone else closer to the beginning of their running journey? All encouragement and advice from longer term…

I am trainingning for a 10k using a run walk method. I ran the full 2.5 miles I set to run today

I am working on call for this weekend so, I got this one! I'll try and modify this to smart snacking

I'd love to be part of the group!

Way to go! But If you are working out that much, you should change your status accordingly in MFP, because of how they calculate calories. That said! I don't do that  I enter in the calories for myself to eat up to 1400 (the lower end of where I would be losing weight) and try to hit at least 200 calories in…

Sure! I like to think I have a mostly clean diet, and I definitely have slip ups. I added ya though! Feel free to share any questions or thoughts!

Those are great thoughts thanks! I found a class over at REI for free here! I am in Montana in the Rockies, and could very well be going alone my first trip. I am a pretty experienced hiker and camper and have done both alone here many times. I have a good pack from REI, first aid kits, flashlight, I can plan and pack good…

Y'all can feel free to add me!

Though I haven't been super observant of it, it sounds a lot like how I lose weight as well. I can be at the same weight for a week or more and then it just falls off. It's frustrating when you don't know what was going on. I looked into a bit of the science, but wanted to know if it was research based, or if it was…

I'm in my 2nd year in my masters for clinical mental health! Similar  I'm definitely up for some self care and goal setting accountabilibuddies though!

Yep, coffee is better. One thought I had was that the energy you get from soda is probably a combo caffeine and sugar high. When you switch to coffee and take out the sugar (I think it's a good choice) you will probably feel a lag. Sugar is super addictive and high amounts of processed sugars are very bad for you. It's a…

Welcome! I added you. What are some of your goals?

Great job! Thanks for sharing

My compromise I tend to set up unrealistic goals for myself, like eating 1200 calories. I can do that for a few days, but then when I 'binge' and eat somewhere around 1500-1700 calories, I beat myself up so bad! My compromise is going to be 1400. This is the first time I am at a higher calorie count, and hopefully it's a…

Keep up the good work! I was around the same starting weight when I did my undergrad after my freshman year. Luckily, the weight fell off pretty easy when I got away from the all you can eat cafeteria haha. If you want any broke college girl tips, let me know! I am there too, and I got a few tricks.

Hey there! I am a student too, and am really bad about getting out of my apartment in time. I make some easy overnight oats for breakfast on the go. I put in 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup milk and a tbsp. Peanut butter. You can add all kinds of stuff to make it good like chia seeds for extra protein and berries. Just make it up…

Welcome! I am working on some of the same goals too. Less sugar, drop a few lbs, tone up, but mostly just building healthy lifestyle habits

I always wanted to be the girl who could wake up in the morning and exercise before anything else. But I found out I really suck at mornings

Thanks for sharing your story! I am the same way with stress keeping me up and struggling to get up in the morning. Eventually I had to just give up on the thought of being an early morning exerciser. Now I do a jog/walk combo in the evenings, and it's mostly to reduce the stress I feel.

Keep it up and congrats on the successes!
