  • i went on vacation, 4 days. and i did gain about 2lb. but i already decided well before the start that i wasn't going to worry about what i ate. i didn't even look at my app and left my scales at home. vacations are for enjoying myself. i just picked up where i left off when i got back and watched the weight go down again.
  • my suggestion is that you can modify your weekly weigh loss goal, so if it seems a bit overwhelming (or not enough calories to get you through the day), just lower the amount you want to lose. the good thing about calorie counting is that it takes no will power and requires no exercising. just carefully log everything you…
  • Down down up down ... I call it saw-toothing. Weighing yourself daily can be a challenge. I counter that by entering my weekly weight in my calendar diary. my weekly goal is a modest 0.5kg a week.
  • not in the same situation, but i can give you a bit of encouraging from my own experience. i've been losing weight without exercise, aside from counting my steps at work (not much, but i'll take it lol) and using that to add back to my remaining total for the day, and i'm steadily losing weight. so you shouldn't worry…
  • i have a scale and initially i used it intermittently on and off. then while i was plateauing (for days) i started wondering about why (as you do) and i started measuring to make sure i was recording accurately. i found out i was consuming 2-3 times as much of my cereal as was a recommended serving and most days i had two…
  • i think it sort of depends on many things whether you were really out of line. if your mother is aware of your condition and knows it's medical then maybe she would be sympathetic to you needing her help to resist temptation. but really, being your mum, i honestly doubt it would occur to her that it is an issue. i don't…
  • i came across this issue when i was struggling to get down the last bit of my first 10kg loss. now i've decided to go on the site and update my goals using the guided set up every 5kg.
  • i would go by the scales and you can ask your doctor if your weight is in the healthy range your height. this pre-assumes that you haven't gone overboard in your efforts to lose weight too quickly. without knowing what you look like or who is telling you this i would suggest that whoever is telling you this will just have…
  • My suggestion is to continue to use the app as a food diary once you have gained your weight goal. i'm not there yet (10kg down, 20+ to go) but i'm already thinking about how i'm going to maintain my 'ideal weight'. the other thing i am going to keep doing is making a weekly entry in my calendar app of what my weight is on…
  • I have zero will power, which is what makes this app so great. I don't say "no". I just schedule it in :-)
