Also, in my defense, the question does refer to MFP "forum" advice. So I think anything on here is fair game.

I stand corrected!! I almost didn't comment lol In hindsight...
-
Fair enough. But a lot of these "plans" do. Sorry MFP :)

Everyone has the ultimate choice to do what they believe, but unless there is a medical reason, I disagree with any diet that cuts out food groups. I also personally think that Keto-type diets (while they may show some results) are ultimately bad for your health. I believe in good quality food in reasonable quantities,…

Monday morning weigh-in for 10 lb challenge - I'm down another 2 lbs for a total of 8 for the challenge!! I have to say I'm pretty happy with this weeks result as it was a very tough food week with very little exercise. I made sure to track my food and wasn't too hard on myself for my "Christmas-y" choices". The big win…

I find that focusing on getting ENOUGH of the right things keeps my cravings at bay. It's a mind thing. Instead of focusing on what I can't have, I focus on what I have to have, and it feels so much better mentally and physically! I often eat a monster salad for lunch, like a dinner plate of greens and assorted veggies. I…

Monday morning results - down 1 whole pound... I'm trying not to be disappointed, but that scale is a tough critic some mornings. I am OK though. After a bit of a self pep talk I understand the following: - I have to MAINTAIN the weight loss that I've already accomplished. - I won't lose big every week and that's OK - I'm…

Welcome! I added you as a friend as well. If you'd like you can add me too - the more the merrier!! :)

Amazing job! Keep up the great work!

Same here, guess I'm weird too 😂

This is the end of week one of the challenge for me because I just got started again, but I'm down 5lbs!!! I know it'll get tougher from here but I am encouraged to keep going after seeing some results!! Keep on going everyone!

Woo hoo! Well done!!
I actually got more attention when I was overweight/obese than I did when I lost or even now. maybe because the first thing you dont see now is my butt lol. my sister used to tell me she could tell it was me from behind cause of my butt. now its hard to tell and I look a bit different too so that may be it.I think…

Thank you so much for this, and congratulations on your success!! I will definitely try some of your suggestions, especially making a list - that is so basic yet I haven't done it yet...
-
Sorry, but you can’t control your health regardless of your weight. But obesity can end up a lot worse than aches and pains. And it’s avoidable.
Isn't this the truth. I've blamed pretty much everything over the years on my weight, so it'll be a shocker if I were to get ill after losing the weight...

Exactly!! I have missed out on so many things because of this, it's so sad. I've really had to start letting it go though, because you can't go back. I always had such a paralyzing fear of what others thought of me, so yeah I hid behind the weight a lot. It feels good to work through some of this with my therapist, as it's…

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate your insight! Cheers :)

Haha great comment. I always feel like people are looking at me funny when they see mostly healthy stuff, and then I throw in a chocolate bar lol. It's all about balance!! :D

Hey, thanks! Truly, Dying young in itself, should be a pretty big motivator, shouldn't it. I totally hear you too, and hugs back! :)
-
Thank-you :)

Dumb question. Does IF stand for something? Or is it just "if I'm hungry. Lol thanks
-
THIS!! I feel exactly the same way. This difficult part for me is prior to me actually paying attention to what I was eating, it was a free-for-all. If I felt "munchy" I'd eat. I'd never stop to think about it. I've found what helps is eating enough of the right things throughout the day. If I eat my 8-10 servings of…

I'm in! Hi everyone :)
-
Congratulations! That is an amazing accomplishment!!

Well done! Indeed, this is what living is all about. I love that I too am finally learning that this is a healthy lifestyle, that these positive changes made over time stick, and become a joy, not a curse! Thanks for sharing

I have too. This one, however has her M.D. as well. Still not listening to her ;)

OK!

I only partially agree with you. Some are, for sure, but this particular Naturopath is a traditionally trained physician as well. In any case, I don't agree with her here.
