Well it would help to know what the cold or hot water is for. Drinking? Bathing, showering? Really need more info.

    Warm-hot for showing/bathing.

Cool-cold for drinking (unless it's tea, then warm-hot).

Watering the garden - doesn't really matter.

Nasal rinse - as close to body temperature as possible.

Feeding the cats/dogs - I fill it with cold, but it gets room temperature before they finish it. In the summer I'll throw in a couple ice cubes.

    Popsicles/ice cubes - freezing.

Bathing cats/dogs (extremely rare) - just above room temperature.

I only want to drink hot water if it has tea leaves in it.

Cold water is refreshing but coffee beans, ground and strained through hot water is killer!

Cold H2O, cold brew (blasphemy), & cold tea (not a "Suth-nah") because I have no tolerance for heat

Prefer room temperature (except in the summer when the temperature approaches that of the surface of the sun around here).

My favorite is hot water - strained through ground coffee beans.

On the flip side, I also like it ice cold, with cola flavoring and artificial sweetener mixed in.

    Perfect.

Cold water only. Can't drink room temp water or higher after deployments.

There is also the water that comes as part of a 4, all natural ingredient drink and while some (UK folk) like it room temp, I much prefer mine cold. Right around the freezing mark is best.

I prefer drinking cold water. I don't like drinking room temperature or hot plain water.
Why? Because plain warm water is gross to me.

My absolute favourite with how I love my water always is refrigerator chilled cold and loaded with ice, then frozen to sloshy and is melting when I get to drink it. I only have one sit down session to slowly enjoy my hot beverages at a time, preferring boiling water with my freshly brewed and homemade teas like orange spiced chai or ginger or hibiscus or vanilla chai and of course french-style homemade hot cocoa.

Cold. Unless it's tea or coffee, then it can be cold or hot.

Cold, because that's what I enjoy.

Best is when it's melting right out of the glacier.
