  • Didn't even come close to my April goal due to craziness. So I'm going for 60km again to see if I can make it!!
  • So I'm about 15 pages behind, I'll have to catch up tomorrow! Didn't really get any running in over the past week while I was catching up on 30 years of lost time with my newly found half brothers! But today was the Run for Home HM and I had to get out there for my relay team. It was a great race. I did the 3.5 mile leg…
  • Way to go! 1km is better than nothing and listening to your body is important to staying injury free!!
  • Wow this is amazing!! We certainly are a hard working bunch of crazy runners! I am also inspired by everyone here and I don't believe I've met a more supportive or knowledgeable group before.
  • @louubelle16 congrats on your PB!! @AdrianChr92 sounds rough but you still did an amazing job!! I've been wondering why my MCL has been hurting since yesterday. Well I woke up to this today and it all made sense. What's great is we've had weather in the 60's (F) for the past week. Luckily it's all melting quickly.
  • April Running Totals (km) 4/1- Life 4/2- 5.6 (5.6/60) Well today was interesting. I'm got crazy stuff I'm trying to work through (got contacted through Facebook last night by someone claiming they are possibly my half brother on my fathers side, never met anyone on my fathers side including my father so it threw me for a…
  • I'm in. Totalled my planned runs for April and it's a little scary for me! Even with a week of lower mileage, I'm supposed to do 70.6km. So my goal will be 60km to allow some wiggle room if I need it!!

  • Hahaha or maybe that. My husband is always confused by my new desire. I spent over a year of my life and more money than I want to think about getting my yoga teacher certification, then the start of this year I decided I wanted to get my personal training certification. He just kept asking why as I looked for an…
  • I totally get this. I have friends who will ask me why I've started running now. They don't understand how yoga, lifting, teaching classes, and general gym stuff isn't enough. I always say I can't give up the high of a new accomplishment; whether that is a new pose in yoga, lifting a heavier weight, or helping a student to…
  • I use Road ID too. Have one attached to my shoe and a bracelet. I also like their app, it notifies my husband and mom when I go for a run and it will notify them if I stop moving for 5 min. They can also track my run via a link in the initial message. My husband uses it more to text me when I'm done with my run and tell me…
  • This whole discussion makes me happy I have my Flipbelt!! I was never a consistent runner in the past and I got my Flipbelt because most of my clothes are yoga clothes so they typically don't have pockets. I never thought about how hard it would be to run if I didn't have my belt, it sounds like a real headache!

  • I'm a morning runner partially for this reason as well. I don't really care if people judge (no one is a worse critic of my abilities than I am!) but I don't like being watched. It's nice to be out in the quiet of my town before it wakes up.
  • @shanaber Thank you (both for the congrats and the advice)! I'll keep stretching and foam rolling. My shoes have 211km (131mi) on them right now, but I have another pair I can start rotating in so I may try that!

  • Lol this totally sums up my run today!
  • So race report. It was a good first 5k for the season. Not as good as I had hoped but I PR'd my last one by over a minute. It was one of those runs where your running into the wind the entire time so that and the side stitch at mile 2 kept me from my goal. Mile one was uneventful, mile two started the side stitch and I had…
  • It's a 5k. Not ready for much longer distance that that yet. Thanks. I'm usually good to go before a race because I have someone to run with and we talk so much I don't have time to think about jitters lol.
  • So feeling very anxious. First race of the season tonight and also will be my first race ever without my running buddy!! I'm planning on treating it like another training run so it'll be slow and steady, really more of a test race for my relay in April. I hate the pre-race jitters...

  • I started week 7 today as well. I've started over a lot with running and using C25K has made this time much easier than I remember it being in the past. Keep it up  !
  • I never run with headphones. I'm usually alone and run in the dark so I need to be aware of my surroundings. I sometimes use headphones if I'm taking my dog since people seem to stay as far from him as they can get. I always have some random song stuck in my head, but never that one!
