  • I love my foam roller! I don't use it enough, but it's amazing when I do. I use it after runs or my crazy cardio classes and I notice a major difference in the amount of soreness I feel the day after if I don't use it.
  • I had no idea what you were talking about until this description. I will have to pay attention on my next run (hopefully tomorrow) and see if this is something I do or not. I would imagine it would come almost second nature since it sounds like what I mean when I tell my yoga classes to hold a pelvic tilt... We shall see.
  • This looks like my runs too. Just gotta keep plugging away and I know from experience it'll get better. I also know slowing down helps a lot even if you feel like you're already a turtle running through peanut butter!
  • @Stoshew71 And @_nikkiwolf_ Congrats! @Elise4270 Sorry to hear about your son. Loved ones on drugs is never easy to deal with.
  • @MobyCarp Yeah I figured I'd have to work to figure out what to wear. This is the first year I haven't given up on running in the winter (much less running outdoors) altogether so I consider myself smart for not going too heavy today. I wanted to wear a heavier jacket when I first stepped outside but I'm glad I didn't.…

It was rough but worth it. Figured out I need more long sleeve shirts and something to cover my ears that's not a hat, the jacket…
  • I worry about being slow too, but really as long as you are enjoying what you are doing and not pushing so hard you end up injured then you're doing awesome. BTW my last 5k race time was 48:11. I'm trying to build a good base to prevent injury, then I'll start to work on getting faster.
  • Lol I'm a little glad you said this. I got on Strava yesterday because I really didn't like my previous running app and figured this may be a better one since so many of you guys use it. But then I started thinking that I didn't want to follow people because then they would see how truly pitiful I am when it comes to…
  • March Running Totals (km) 3/1- 1.4 (1.4/35) 3/2- 2.51 (3.91/35) Work was making me mad so I used some personal time to leave early. Used some of that anger to push through my run today and for the first time ran 8 min without stopping! It's slow going but I'm trying to build that base so that eventually I can get faster!…
  • I get it not being worth the pain! I've never seen the bob holders but they sound like something that could work... I use stools and climb on dressers to hang mine! The husband is afraid I'll eventually take over the whole wall. I just started 3 years ago with a warrior dash and each year I add more races. Just last year I…
  • OMG that first link was just what I needed to read this morning! And on a side note, I think I'm hoarding shiny medals like those meth addicted crows  . I had add more cork board to my "wall of awesome" to fit this year's bibs and medals! My husband came into the room and saw what I had done, he just shook his head…
  • Met my goal for the first time since before the holidays!! Thinking about adding a 5k in March, need to decide soon since the deadline is coming up soon! • @lporter229 I will never again complain about being chased by geese!! That is the most awful thing I can imagine happening!
  • Agreed! Geese are the worst, I've been chased away from dumpsters and been trapped in my car by geese that hung out by a place I used to work. There were a couple that wanted to hang out by the ponds my husband had put in and I freaked.
  • Woah got way behind in reading, don't know if I'll catch up!! Finally getting some short runs in and my eye doctor says I'm seeing pretty much 20/20 so the lasik was a success! Also I was on Amazon last night and noticed they had 20% off clothing and shoes so I was able to get a pair of my fav running shoes for when these…
  • @_nikkiwolf_ So far I'm loving being able to see without my glasses/contacts, but I was so nervous for the procedure!! I was laying on the table just thinking how stupid I was for making this decision!! But my eyes were really bad and I've had glasses since grade school so it was time. Maybe some day you will be able to do…
  • Wow lots of reading to catch up on. Got LASIK procedure done yesterday so I've got a few days of absolute nothing to look forward to. On day two and already going stir crazy. I see my eye doctor Monday so I'm hoping he'll clear me to run on the treadmill at least, since weights and yoga are totally out for a week! Well…
  • This is typically where my boy is when I'm doing yoga lol. He learned to not sit all the way on the mat when I was practicing handstand and landed on him!! Gotta love their need to be close! The other two typically stay away while I'm working out and most of my equipment is in the basement so the only time they are around…
  • Ok, need to really get back to training since my first race is April. I'm in for 30km in Feb.
