I, too, am obsessed with the soundtrack. It is a show I 100% need to see, for sure!

That is so awesome. Congrats!!0 -
Woah got way behind in reading, don't know if I'll catch up!! Finally getting some short runs in and my eye doctor says I'm seeing pretty much 20/20 so the lasik was a success! Also I was on Amazon last night and noticed they had 20% off clothing and shoes so I was able to get a pair of my fav running shoes for when these ones wear out for super cheap!

One does not truly hate his/her life until one is subjected to running 10+ miles on a gym treadmill. I watched a movie on my phone (until my ear buds pissed me off), watched some TV with closed captioning, played sudoku, tried to listen to some of the music playing in the weight room behind me, counted cars, people watched, and completely zoned out for a while. Then there was the power walker who got onto the treadmill next to me for my last few miles - she overpoweringly smelled like cake and her exaggerated power-walking movements in my peripheral vision annoyed me enough for me to hustle through the last mile and a half so I could get away from her. (Side note: I'm sure the power walker is a very nice lady, and it's great to see people getting in any sort of physical activity, especially on a day where most people wouldn't even leave their house due to the weather.)

Beautiful morning to run. Nice temps. Only not happy with my shoes. They are ASICS GEL-Kayano 22. I've only worn them for 51 miles total as I just got them at Christmas. Bottom of one foot starting hurting. I am allowed to trade them in for 90 days but I feel kind of rude doing so after 2 months. I alternate between a pair of Sauconys (200 miles on them) and Brooks (300 miles). The Brooks I have worn in both HM I ran and they are my favorite, hence the extra mileage. I think I will see about just trading in the Asics for Brooks new pair of same style. If I can't I suppose I can keep the Asics for shorter runs. They are okay for <5 miles.... but anything more than 5 bottom of feet hurt.

@_nikkiwolf_ , wow you had a tough run Saturday! I love running in the weather but hail would have chased me in too. And then to follow that up with an awesome run...sounds like a GREAT day!
@Elise4270 I hope that knee mends up quick. It sounds very frustrating. I'd be conservative with it and give it some extra care. Regarding the park, if you see a suspicious car, I'd report it. The police will add that bit of data into their file and if the car shows up again they'll see a pattern, or if something does happen, they can check it out. It may be nothing, or it might be something. Careful with the BB pistol. Many jurisdictions would consider that a firearm and if someone sees it and reports it, you could be the subject of a heavy handed take down.
@honunui, I'm always jealous when you post your snorkeling photos. I went snorkeling once in Mexico and it was awesome.
@CariTJR, way to stay with it yesterday! Some runs are that way...they just suck. Best to get them over with and start looking forward to the next one.
@kateparry84 awesome about the distance PR! You'll nail the race.

12.1 miles solo on Saturday and 4.9 miles with Kody last night.
Saturday I hit the trails. I meant to go out with a local group but fighting a little cold I elected to get more sleep to fight it off. It seems to have helped. Unfortunately that meant I missed the really cold temps I was looking forward to (-8F, -22F WC). By the time I got out there at 9:30am it had warmed up to 0ºF and the wind had died down. It was a GORGEOUS day for running! The plan called for 12 miles, I wanted 14 with a possible 16, but by the time I got to 12 I was feeling a bit of pain in my left hip and right calf. Nothing to be concerned about, but as I get into this marathon training, I'm getting fearful of overuse injury.
Last night I meant to run 6 miles while my son had soccer practice (indoors). I dropped him off, then I took off. At mile 4 I started getting a sharp pain in the rear, inner tendon of my right knee. The first time it hurt and I continued. The second time it made me grimace. While I debated continuing or not, it hit again so I turned back to my truck. I had overdressed and was sweaty so walking was out of the question. I ran as daintily as I could.
Even walking around the house last night would give me the occasional pain, like the tendon was rubbing laterally and catching on something. I iced it and medicated with Aleve and a glass of single malt scotch. This morning it feels much better, but still slightly tender. I plan on skipping Tuesday's group run and continue to ice this regardless of how it feels.
Here's a couple of pictures from Saturday. The first is me on the trail (obviously) and the second one is Kody the moment he realized that he didn't get to go with me...so sad...

Recap:
An easy 3.5 miles on the treadmill today, followed by 25 min on the bike. We got ~9 inches of snow over night and it was still snowing pretty hard this morning so I decided to treadmill it today. It’s supposed to warm up this week though so I’m really excited!
In other news, I signed up for the Space Coast Half Marathon this morning; this will be the fourth year that my mom and I run it! It is the race the originally got me running in the first place, so it definitely holds a special place in my heart

3/20 - Excalibur 10 Miler

@7lenny7 ya, the pistol would probably have to be cleared. We do have open/concealed carry here. I'm just spinning ya know, what I should do, what's practical.. If all goes as planned I'll run at a different park an hour away this week. Thanks for your insight.0

@Elise4270, this book is highly recommended. This reminds me I need to have my kids read this. I should re-read it as well.

It was beautiful day to run yesterday... so I decided to log some miles and go do that hill...
But when I got to the top, I realized I was in the middle of nowhere... #trailrunningwithoutatrail

Well, the doctor diagnosed a stress fracture in my fibula. I'm in a walking boot, and no running for 2 more weeks. I am allowed to take the boot off for cycling, though, so I should be able to keep some of my conditioning, at least. He said I should be able to run my marathon, but may have to run walk it, due to my unplanned time off. At least I'm not totally banned from doing it!0
-
@MorningGhost14 - That is one serious looking hill. And I suspect you were actually "somewhere".
@ceciliaslater - Oh no! I have to admit, for a leg fracture the news does not sound as bad as one would expect. Hope you recover fully on schedule!0 -
@7lenny7 - love the mental image of your "dainty" running! And Kody looks so sad to be left behind!
@MorningGhost14 - gorgeous view!
@ceciliaslater - Agh! So sorry for the stress fracture. How frustrating!0
