  • Starvation mode does not mean that if you eat a small amount of food then you will magically gain weight, it means that if you continue restricting eventually you'll hit a plateau where you won't lose any weight, but it doesn't mean that you gain.
  • Oh sorry I forgot to say that I've already lost 6 pounds in like 3 weeks ish I just haven't been keeping track on mfp :)
  • I don't have a cheat meal or treats, my treat is seeing all of my hard work and determination pay off by not giving in to cravings. If you do have a treat, just include it in your calorie allowance.

  • I have rice cakes and a sliced up banana and strawberries. I usually have half a banana (50 cals), 2 rice cakes (50 cals) and about 5 strawberries (30 cals) I also have a cup of coffee with a splash of milk (20 cals) so that's 150 calories :)
  • Well you have to definitely make sure that you're burning off as much as you think you are, otherwise you'll be eating more than your allowance and not lose any weight. If you are going to eat it all back again, don't eat chocolate and sweets, eat healthy fruit an veggies :)
  • I'm 5'4, 119 lbs and I'm actualy now just aiming for around 110 I think anything below that would be too thin. Honestly I would say that it's probation just water weight mainly, I'm not completely starving myself or anything. Even if it is just water weight, my jeans feel looser and I'm still happy with my results so far :)
  • I'm not trying to be rude here, so please don't see it as that I'm just trying to help :) If you really were keeping track of your intake and exercise etc accurately, then you would lose weight. You need to burn 3500 calories to lose a pound. So if you had a calorie deficit of 500 calories, and burned 500 calories a day,…
  • That actually works for me. I imagine myself eating the food, the feeling and texture, chewing it and the taste etc. Then I realise that it's just too much effort and the taste will only lasts a little while and it doesn't even taste or feel good in my mouth anyway. So then I can't be bothered eating it... Maybe I'm just…
  • I actually quite like regular soy milk, I'm really not a fan of unsweetened almond milk, but if you buy it sweetened that kind of defeats the purpose :/
  • Calorie counting doesn't really help me but I've become slightly obsessed. Because if in supposed to have 1200 calories, and I've eaten 1100, I'll see a 100 cal chocolate bar an be like "well I still have 100 calories left might aswell eat it!" Whereas I wouldn't have eaten it otherwise. Or I'll go slightly over my…
  • Imagine your favourite unhealthy food crawling with maggots... Or Google a mouldy picture of it. Gross I know but it works!
  • You're not logging accurately. Simply for the fact that you estimated your takeout food at 600 calories - I guarantee you consumed more calories than you think you did. How are you tracking your food? Are you weighing everything you consume? Are you measuring liquids? Are you choosing accurate MFP entries when you log what…
  • xD sorry about that. I'm 5'4, 120 lbs and want to be 110... Is that what you meant?
  • Ok thanks that's a good idea I'll do that :) I had already eaten the strawberries before I put it in my food diary which is why I just put medium :)
  • It was takeaway food for dinner, I checked the website and it wasn't an option on here so I just added 600 calories :)
  • Thank you for actually genuinely expressing your opinion politely. I just added a post saying that I'm on medication that causes me to have a lower appetite, so I think that my body is just used to less food. And I only drink water and maybe a cup of coffee every day.
  • Guys just to be clear here I've been dieting for 2 weeks now, but just kept a diary in a notebook. And I love how you all think you know exactly what I'm eating, I'm not eating more than I think I am because I've lost 5lbs in not even 2 weeks
  • I've recently been put on medication which causes me to have a lower appetite, I'm not really doing it on purpose, I guess my body is just used to a small amount of food :)
  • I definitely don't eat more than I think I do, in fact I put in more calories than I eat just in case, and I always round up. Sometimes even too much, my dinner was around 520 but I rounded it up to 600, and I always weigh my food aswell. Yesterday I really wasn't hungry so I had 3 chocolate truffles, coffee and a rice…
  • I don't count my treats as treats because I just add it to my calorie intake, if I eat a 100 cal chocolate bar, I'll just eat 100 less calories later on in the day.
  • Losing weight is 20% exercise and 80% food... Also just because you eat healthy doesn't mean you'll lose weight, you can eat 2000 calories of lettuce or 2000 calories of chocolate and you would weigh the same. You have to actually cut down on your intake, even just by a few hundred calories will make a huge difference in…
  • Well pretty much yeah, I notice the most amount of fat around my thighs and stomach so I just want there to be less fat there :)
