  • Hi Becca, there are some useful (and some less useful) comments here  http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10247770/meal-replacement-shakes/p1
  • Thanks for creating this thread OP, the more constructive comments were very helpful!
  • He asked for opinions about the shakes from people who have tried the shakes. He even got specific: "Specifically, has anyone tried total lean or ideal shape shakes? Do they make you feel full? Are they satiasying? Are they low in sugar and other processes ingredients?" He didn't ask you whether shakes were dumb or not.…
  • Bristol here :) Adds more than welcome.
  • Haha fair enough thanks all!
  • Hi guys - I realise all the friend love and G+Ts might have made my post come across a little feminine, but I'm all man :P Thanks for the advice!
  • Have you been doing this with the help of a dietician or on your own? I've been considering paying a dietician as the research I've done points to this being the wisest course of action for FODMAP, but if it can be done without then I'll save my money!

  • This from Nutracheck is fairly informative: With 7 calories per gram, the number of calories in alcohol is second only after fat (9 cals/g). The calories in alcohol are metabolised first by the body, ahead of burning fat - which is not desirable if on a weight loss diet.
  • Laphroaig is lovely. I had a bottle bought for me Christmas before last and was very disappointed not to get a repeat present last Christmas!
  • This is what I drink. So much easier on the calories than a beer, or in my case - cider.
  • Okay so I've just spotted a similar thread. Apologies. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10227730/going-out-with-friends#latest One of the comments links to this very useful site: http://getdrunknotfat.com/ Sorry for the dupe thread.
  • This is my favourite forum I've ever found. I love these threads. CONGRATULATIONS! INSPIRING!!!
  • My beautiful girlfriend bought me a diet book months ago. I didn't use it. A few weeks ago she left me for a man very with very little body fat. This can never happen again.
  • That's amazing! I searched the forums for 'Transformation' looking for some inspiration and I found it here. I have a similar belly to yours in your before picture up top, and can't wait to lose it. I'm only a few weeks in but already experienced big changes. Cutting down on booze is hardest, since it's how I see all my…
  • Thank you all! A lot of very positive responses and really good advice! Just what I needed. What a great bunch of people :)
  • I see. Honestly I think I can get by on 1200-1500 calories + exercise. I've no intention of going back to my old habits. I had a personal event recently which was a breaking point. I'm working on a flat torso and I'm building muscle. I'm doing it as quickly as possible, because right now I just can't be like this. I've…
  • What I'm afraid of Madhatter is that I'll lose it so fast that I'll bounce back. What I'd like to do is find out what my balance should be, consensus seems to be for 1800 at the minute.
  • Thanks yopeeps. The missing dinners aren't falling off the wagon, they're generally salads I've had prepared when I've been at a mates house or where I've forgotten to log a meal. However all the meals in my little book are 500 calories or less. I'm trying to fill in the gaps.
  • As you can see I'm currently looking at 1500+exercise calories. I've had the flapjack to get me closer to target.
  • Yep got it diary is now public. I've only been logging for 10 days, and I've been mucking about with the settings regarding how much I want to lose and how fast etc! Hopefully it all makes sense. This is the first time in my life I've laid my eating habits bare so please be nice! Weekend wasn't filled in, but I didn't go…
  • Yes, but I need to figure out how.
  • Isaack, loads of great advice. Thankyou. I have an HRM that came with my Garmin, so I'll start getting my cardio that way again and make use of the HRM. 50-75% of my exercise calories is a good idea. MFP seems to encourage me to eat all of them, but that seemed counterproductive. I'll get myself an electric scale. Might…
  • Thanks Isaack  In answer to your plateau questions - I use a mechanical scale and measure in grams. Calorie burns I let the machine tell me, and also input my figures from Google Fit - I cycle in and out of work every day as well as a lot of general walking, albeit at a leisurely pace. I don't include any calorie…
  • Thanks for the incredibly fast responses! My dinners and breakfasts are weighed at home. Lunch is often from the canteen but since I began has always been salad, no meat, occasionally an egg. Breakfast is always a banana. Dinners have been weighed on a scale, under 400 calories and made at home from bbc good food super…
