  • Sorry, but I just can't keep up with the forums right now :/ so excuse me for seemingly ignoring everyone elses success and hard work. I do skim through and read in part. It's just between work, college, kids and keeping fit... I just don't seem to have the spare time to sit and fully absorb everything that is being said…
  • 2/9 - 0.70 6/9 - 0.82 Had to have a few rest days due to ankles swelling. But they seem ok now, and I had a fab run :)
  • I just invested in a 3 tier food steamer. I put salmon on the bottom, broccoli in the centre and rice at the top. All I have to do is put the food in and let it steam away. Very little prep and minimal washing up. This is my go to meal when I am pushed for time, and I want something healthy, simple and tasty. Kids love it…
  • NEWBIE! I started running in early August, and my goal at the moment is to run a non stop mile! Instead of trying to aim for X amount of miles for Sept, I'd like to keep a log of my daily non stop distances. And aim for 15 runs (I run every other day) and get as close to 15 miles as I can :) 2/9 - 0.70 mile
  • Everyone is different, what works for one wont work for the other. Personally, I feel sick at the thought of breakfast whether I have a work out due or not. I also feel sick if I work out with any food in my belly. It slows me down and gives me heart burn. So a run first thing with an empty stomach, is perfect for me. You…
  • I set 4 alarms to sound 15 minutes apart. If I want to get up at 6am. I will set an alarm for 5.15am - 5.30am - 5.45am and 6am. I find this method gradually wakes me up and by the time the last alarm sounds, I am fully awake, or at least awake enough not to feel groggy and rebellious.
  • As already mentioned, what ever suits you best. - I run in the morning because I always walk the dogs first thing and it makes perfect sense to run while I am out on a dog walk. - I jump rope in the kitchen whenever I am waiting on something, like the dinner to cook, or the washing machine to finish etc... I am in the…
  • Cheers SLLRunner :)
  • Sometimes if I can't find the right measurement, I will look at the calories in the database instead. So there will be something that says cup/tbs but I didn't pick that option because that is what I used. I picked it because the calories were the same as I consumed. The food database is a mine field anyway, I have seen so…
  • I wolfed down 3 reeses peanut butter cups for lunch. I do not feel the slightest amount of guilt over them and I don't even class them as a treat. They were within my calorie allowance and they have calcium and iron in  I'm all for the calcium and iron right now. Don't tell yourself to cut anything out of your…
  • Cheers peeps, I woke feeling refreshed and recharged. The stress and not eating enough is not a regular thing, so, I wont worry about that. I was just so stressed yesterday, that the MFP warning seemed a bigger issue than it actually was :unamused: I didn't have the nutella, but I did get some much needed sleep. And, I…
  • This is how I thought of it, but I was stressed when I read the warning, and that stressed me more. I am off to bed to rest my stressed out head. I'm sure rest will be more healthy for me right now than a ladleful of nutella!
  • I can't help with what it could be, but I have had this happen too, a couple of years ago. My feet would hurt to walk on as soon as I got up, but the pain disappeared after a few minutes walking around. I started rolling a frozen bottle under my feet (arches) in the evening, and then stretching/massaging my feet in the…
  • I run every other day, so when I am not running, I will do the push ups. It's difficult showing self restrain though, because I want to a do a proper push up NOW! (ever so impatient!) so every opportunity I get, I am trying
  • My angles seem perfect on the 4th step. Maybe this is why I feel like I am slipping then, my feet are not far enough back and that's making them slip a bit. Which in turn makes me re adjust and I am probably bringing my feet even more forward in the process? I will get someone to take a photo of me when I am trying the 3rd…
  • Good on you! I can just imagine how shocked and excited you must have been. Hopefully I will have similar success to you then :) It just thoroughly annoys me that I can't do a simple push up lol I'll hold a party when I finally manage one!
  • If the other things don't work over this week, I will try them every other day. I do them once a day, sometimes twice. Maybe my puny arms need some recovery :) Cheers
  • I do worry my feet are going to slip and I will face plant the stairs, so although I do move my feet back, I might not be moving far enough back. I will double check on the feet next time! Cheers
  • I try the 3rd step first, if nothing happens ( I can't even master one yet), I then go back to the 4th step. I try the stair push once a day, sometimes two. I shall try to make it 2-3 instead! I never thought about negatives on the stairs! I shall try that as well :) Cheers :) Here's hoping tomorrow brings more joy with…
  • Cheers, I shall try that out next time :)
  • That is what I thought when I changed my eating habits, and multivitamins never even crossed my mind! Then I looked at my new eating habits and realised I was not getting quite as many nutrients as I thought. I had flash backs of B12 shots and 3 iron tablets a day... so I went into panic mode and brought some…
  • Mom to two, only 8lb to lose, but concentrating more on toning up, as I have no upper body strength, or decent core! Honestly, you should see me attempting push ups, I look pathetic, but I am persistent and adamant I will succeed! I am often pushed for time, so I decided to add jumping rope' into my day. I was cooking…
  • What ever bread your family like best. I buy warburtons toastie and warburtons seeded batch. Kids love the toastie bread, I love the seeded batch. Both are pretty high in calories, so I eat one slice, not two! I also like to spread nutella all over it after toasting, nom nom nom!
  • A few years ago, I was diagnosed with anaemia and needed iron tablets and b12 shots, but recently all my levels checked back out, so I no longer need them. I was borderline with my iron, so I would take iron tablets during periods if I haven't got enough from food. To help keep my levels topped up. However, since I decided…
  • I have only just started running (again), and for the first week I ran 1/4 mile every morning during my routine dog walk. The second week I was running most days for 1/3 mile and this week (3) I am running 1/2 mile every other day. I start on a mile track, run at a steady pace as far as I can, then I walk the rest. I then…
  • Maybe if you look for foods that will help you with your swimming, it will help to re focus your mind? You need certain foods to help you maintain your stamina and energy for swimming, and you need to swim to help keep fit/lose weight. So it makes sense to fuel your body correctly for swimming. This is what has helped me…
  • 5'7 - 154lbs. Sedentary. All activities are logged (mostly brisk walking on errands) and I am losing (148lbs goal - 1lb a week). My allowance is 1300, I earn 500 - 2000. And my intake can be anything between 1200 - 2500. I am new to this (2 weeks) and not yet consistent as I am settling into a routine with it all. But I am…
  • I have now searched some body weight exercises, and I have also thought about what sort of things I can do whilst I am already out running. There are plenty of things such as trees, wooden beams, steps etc that I could use to my advantage. I also just brought some dumbbells. I read more into belly fat and how to really…
  • Snap! I recently started, and my aim is also to tone up, rather than just lose weight. I eat a bigger variety of foods now, I drink more water, I am running more efficiently and I just brought some dumbbells to help give my muscles a work out, in a bid for them to burn up that last bit of stubborn belly fat! Two weeks in…
