I am female, 5'7, and 11st (high end of healthy weight). I have always been 10.7 - 11st, but when bad habits started creeping in and I saw 12st (over weight) on the scales, I decided to make changes asap before it got out of control.

I'm not at my goal weight of 10st6 yet, but I don't feel like losing much, if any, more weight is really what I need. But not sure what I should be doing next...
I feel like I am fine below the waist, lacking strength above the waist, and my waist is just a wobbly bowl of jelly. I had two c sections some 10+ years ago, which left my stomach muscles quite weak and I never bothered to work on them. I can tense them up and do a few sit ups, so I know they still work even if I can't see or feel them.
I just feel un even all over, a bit like a mix and match body. Fine legs, fat belly and weedy arms. What should I be doing to even myself out all over? Is there one thing that would cover all areas?

Should I stop trying to lose weight now and focus on toning up, building on strength etc?
I need guidance or a nudge in the right direction. Because I am not sure what I should do next?

Currently, I walk everywhere, have done for years (12 miles today). Hence the legs being fine!
I recently started running, and just managed my 1/2 mile non stop run
I am struggling with push ups... can't do them flat on the ground so I am doing them at a 45 degree angle on the stairs. My goal is to eventually be able to do them flat on the ground.

If you have access to dumbbells or kettle bells try some compound lifts for strength. It'll work top to bottom including your core.there are lots of great tutorials online. If you like running and pushups keep those up as well.

Thanks serenity, I shall look into dumbbells and kettle bells.
I love running... push ups not so much! Will keep up with both though.

Why not work some core strengthening into your running or walking routine? If you run outdoors, think about where along the way you might stop & do some stair (or tree) pushups...some crunches...burpees...a plank, etc. Even if it's only a few to begin with, if you mix it up with something you love doing, it won't seem so tedious. Add some balancing things, too, such as walking along a curb or standing on one leg - they will also work the core muscles somewhat. Then challenge yourself to add a few more reps each time.

I have now searched some body weight exercises, and I have also thought about what sort of things I can do whilst I am already out running. There are plenty of things such as trees, wooden beams, steps etc that I could use to my advantage.

I also just brought some dumbbells. I read more into belly fat and how to really shift it. By the sounds of it, simply working out my biggest muscles will get results. So, I shall be giving my muscles a good work out over the next month and see how it all goes.

    Cheers
