Yes metabolism changes as we get older and harder still when menopause comes, great isnt it, so my advice is to cut your cals by 100 a day, if that doesnt work then another 100 until u see results. Reach ur goal weight before menopause, u are young, u have plenty of time :)

That is amazing, you look great and I definitely needed to see that so I stop being obsessed with the scale & get obsessed with exercise instead, thanks for the inspiration

My mum diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at age 40. She lost weight, went to the gym and walked. She was the only 80 year old at the gym. She would have died much sooner if she didn't exercise. Try aquajog or similar if u have pain in joints.

I dont think I've ever been able to down 8 glasses a day but I do try to at least drink enough water so my you-know-whatsit isnt dark yellow but light in colour, probably more than a litre a day.

It all starts in the head and I used to do what you're doing now, angel in the morning with my food and exercise but by dinnertime my demons take over and I start to binge. The only way I cld change this was with mindful eating and meditation, feel free to send me msg if you wld like to know more.

OP, what sheldonklein said, it doesnt have to be all or nothing (this way of thinking was a subconscious excuse for me to go back to overeating again). Anyway, it is not all or nothing, not black and white, it is the grey in-between area that we need to work on. It cant be perfect I'm afraid but if we aim for at least…

It's like people don't read the questions.[/quote] and some people get a kick out of correcting others as it makes them feel superior

For me its a sometimes, the other day had BK, couldn't believe 1000 calories! Enjoyed it tho, felt like I was in heaven for a while but not long after that I felt hungry again, didn't feel nutritionally satisfied. Now understand why they are called "empty calories"

I love the ads that say "eat what you want, as much as you want, don't exercise and still lose weight! and I'm thinking but that's how I got overweight in the 1st place
-
Tell me about it. Usually I would gain weight around winter time and after Christmas. Busy schedules makes it harder I agree but not impossible. Have you got time to prepare your own lunch night before, even if just a sandwich or throw together quick salad? and if you dont have time for grocery shop, perhaps order online…

I try for 150mins a week, strength training once a week but I know should probably do more and yes I've lost weight but only because I havent gone over my calories. If I go above my calories for the whole week, no matter how much I exercise, I wont lose weight, I will only maintain it.

Regardless of what anyone else says about your butt or anything else about you, no matter what their age, please know that they are in the wrong for being so rude and how you think of yourself is what is most important and I hope those thoughts are positive :)

Your scales might be wrong! lol. I have a love/hate relationship with my scales and the only time they would start to show numbers that made me feel happy was when I cut down on carbs and sugars and replaced with protein, veg and fats such as avocado. Still the same calorie allowance but with a different way of eating,…

I used to be a binge eater, especially at night time, great timing going to bed with a gut full of excessive calories which was usually in the form of carbs, sugar, fat or salt. For me, it all starts in the head and or how I am feeling. Sometimes mindless, just eat for the sake of eating and before ya know it, 1000s of…

May I ask is that arthritic pain you speak of? and you are not getting that pain anymore since starting keto? That is amazing.
-
Hey thanks again. I am now trying low carb and quite surprised at how energetic and lighter I feel and how full I can be on chicken salad for lunch, protein and fats (avocado) really does satisfy the hunger and before, when I ate too many carbs, mainly in the form of white bread and cakes, my appetite was insatiable.…

Agree with stacerpacer. From my own personal experience, if I eat too much sugar every day, it is very hard or almost impossible to lose weight because taking a bite of something like chocolate or cake makes me hungry for more, I cant stop at one. It's like an insatiable appetite and I just feel tired all day. Nothing…
