Best of luck on your new journey. It’s so very difficult to lose your spouse, but like you said, you can begin to move on and in a new direction and leave the stagnation behind. He would be proud of you.

What a great perspective on lchf! At a year in, and struggling to lose, I really appreciate your take on this woe. Thank you!!!

My blood glucose is always higher after exercise, including walking. I have heard it is common, more the rule than the exception. It comes down to a respectable reading 1-2 hours after. I don't worry about it because it's a normal occurring reaction to exercise.

Feel free to add me. I shoot for 20g or less, and usually stay close. Sometimes I might creep a little over with some veggies. My food diary isn't very exciting as I tend to repeat a lot. I have bulletproof coffee each morning. We usually eat out for lunch, so that gets more varied. Dinner is a protein and veggie or salad.…

2 Keto Dudes - Episode #71 - The Salt Fix with Dr. James DiNicolantonio This is a great podcast with lots of salt talk. DiNicolantonio wrote The Salt Fix: Why the Experts Got It All Wrong -And How Eating More Might Save Your Life.

I started blending a TBS of collagen peptides in my morning bulletproof coffee in May. Within the first week I noticed joint and muscle pain had lessened. Two of my children started supplementing with it when they were training for a 15 mile race, and they both swear by the difference it made in post exercise soreness. I…

Happy, happy to all!! I'm making all the traditional dishes, but going to stay keto, except for a few bites of roasted sweet potatoes. Turkey, veggies, and deviled eggs will fill me up, and then I'll have a mini cheesecake for dessert. Yum!! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Woo hoo! Twenty pounds gone forever!!!

You look amazing! Really see the difference - almost like a different person.

Happy Friday! Looking forward to a tennis match this morning - hoping to not bonk like I did last week. Been pushing the salty stuff and had bone broth with sea salt this morning. I made it into the 160s this morning - haven't been here for about 14 or 15 years. One more half lb. and I will no longer be in the obese range…

That gave me goosebumps! Great job!!

I track my calories now, but I didn't when I first started. When I started stalling, I cut back on my calories, and it helped. I usually eat back some of my exercise calories, but not all. You'll find a balance that works for you.

Happy Birthday!! I'm soon hungry for Mexican food right now! Enjoy your meal.

Wow! Great results for your mom!!!

@coloradoartstudio, I have the Happy Scale app on my phone, which breaks your goals down nicely into little chunks. I'm easily amused lol!!

Thanks, @RalfLott. This was interesting. I will discuss the Glucophage XR with my Dr.

@RalfLott, I was on Janumet, which really helped bring my BG down to low 100s, 90s, and 80s. but the Janu part of that med worked to raise insulin to lower BG. Last month my dr. switched me to metformin, which didn't do a good job lowering BG and was disastrous to my digestive system - could barely leave the house for fear…

Oh, that sounds like a tough situation. Maybe your fat bombs last night looked so good that everyone just wanted to try them. I know they looked fantastic to me!! BTW, were they delicious? Sorry things are not going smoothly - hope things get better soon for you.

No Coke Zero since Thursday lunch.

I'm down 19 lbs since June 1, which is about a lb per week. At times I think I'm never going to see a loss, and then two lbs in two days. I'm happy I finally found a woe that works for me.

This is the first time in many years that I have control of my eating. What a wonderful feeling! Now if I get hungry between meals, I know I haven't eaten enough calories the day before or I'm low in fat or salt. I used to have a major problem with night eating, but that is long gone.

Yes I see a difference in both you and your wife. You both are looking great!!!
-
@ProCoffeenator I'm very much back to feeling normal. Just finished a 10 mile bike ride. I hope your symptoms get better soon. It's amazing how the weather affects us in so many ways!

@PaleoInScotland, I just ordered some sodium tablets from Amazon.com. I believe they were called Rehydr8. The reviews about them looked pretty promising. Maybe they could help you, as well.

Yesterday I overheated playing tennis, and by the time I got home my blood sugars were 221. I've been running low 100s, so this was a startling jump. I know it was due to my body being super stressed.
