  • I like to snack on dry cereal. The Special K or Weight Watchers brands have tasty, sweet choices that are not too high in cals. Use a small bowl or ramekin, so you're not tempted to pour like, two servings worth. I enjoy the cereal because all the little pieces help me keep my hands busy when I have cravings for mindless…
  • I know I could just google it but it's a pain to jump out of the app - what is slimming world? Like an online forum? To my American ears it sounds British somehow
  • It sounds like you have more than enough suggestions, but if it's just one fresh cup of coffee that I'm after, a basic pour over cannot be beat, IMO. You don't need a fancy Chemex, just a plastic or ceramic holder for your coffee, and a pack of filters. I prefer the pour over to the French press, because I don't care for…
  • I find that brushing my teeth, then painting my nails, helps avoid mindless snacking immensely! Or if you're not crazy enough to do your nails over every night like me, any kind of crafting hobby that keeps your hands busy will do.
  • I take OTC benadryl, mostly for allergies, but I have to say they also help me sleep! Someone above mentioned bath salts/Epson salts soaks, and as long as you're healthy (check w/your doctor of course) I've found that a Magnesium mineral supplement really helped me with sleep as well.
  • I have to second the suggestion for Lands End. Look in their sale section for great prices. You can get anything from a bikini to tanking to swim dress. Also don't forget the cover up, a sarong or a robe or a tunic. That can help ease into the feeling of being undressed ☺
  • Heeeyy Ladies (and gents), please feel free to add me as well! I don't own a scale (I know...) but my approx starting weight is around 160-ish? I'm 5' 4" dress size varies from 10 to 14. Don't have a particular GW but would like to be able to fit into mediums or single digit clothing sizes. The usual, look better, have…
  • I feel like the whole "reward/treat" concept is so different in women and men. (That is, in my personal experience!) One could go on for pages on internal versus external motivation, blah, blah. But for me it's makeup or nail polish. Nails are a hobby of mine and a new Dior polish is a nice treat to myself for keeping up a…
  • Personally I've made peace with the fact that my weight will fluctuate. Like between three or four dress sizes or 10 - 15 lbs or so. Just depends on how lazy/motivated/emotional/etc I'm at in my life at the moment. So I keep a "core" wardrobe that is what I consider a reasonable size for me. If that starts getting too…
  • As a very recently quit smoker (forced to due to a health issue) I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but quitting smoking will play some games with your metabolism/BMR. Obviously, quitting is the best thing to do for your health! No question about that. But there is a lot of truth to the quitting smoking = weight gain…
  • Hey there, I'm pretty new to MFP (just got the app yesterday actually) but I love your nail polish hed! That's one of my accidental strategies too. Although with quick dry top coat, you can open a bag up carefully in about 5 min, LOL. I live in the east bay (non native but have been here abt 6 years now) My goals are to…
