Great thread! I have 3 kids. My youngest is 8 and it took until last year before I found the energy and motivation to lose weight. I've lost 45lb now and have about 10lb left. It was so hard when they were little and I found it very difficult to carve out any time for me. It's much easier now they are older!

Mum of 3 here, would love some new friends! I've lost 45lb, have 10lb left to go.

I am a similar height and weight and started a similar thread recently - I had completely plateau'd for almost two months. I had a lot of very helpful responses - maybe do a search? In my case i tightened up my logging, changed a few of my walks for runs and on the advice of that thread increased my calories (from 1200 to…

Hi all, Worcestershire here. Always happy to have new friends :)

I am a skater too. I miss it so much. I have been weight lifting and doing pilates as well as skating but when the rinks closed again I started running. I think I'll keep up the running once the rinks open again but do a bit less.

The M&S dumbbell programmes are excellent. I've seen incredible results from them. I've done them all at various points. They are very adaptable depending on the equipment you have available. I just skipped pull ups and have a step stool for step ups.

I absolutely love this part of Ireland. Undiscovered and a real hidden gem. Mine is Budapest in the winter, and also Ireland (West Cork as we've mentioned but also the area around Giants Causeway in the North).

Midlands here too! I've sent you a friend request.

I'd love a garage gym! We'd hoped to get planning to build a new garage with room for a gym too but it was turned down. Maybe one day! Mine is getting out walking locally. I'm very lucky to have country walks on my doorstep. It really helps me to wind down after homeschooling to get out with a podcast and just decompress.

I am really struggling with this at the moment. Logically I KNOW there is a difference (I mean, there has to be I've lost 41lb) but I can't see it in my mirror and it has been 9 months! The odd time I've seen a mirror elsewhere it is more noticeable. I think my brain is playing tricks on me.

thanks - it never came through so have added you and a few others, hope that's OK! Anyone please feel free to add me, always like new people to follow.

Just wanted to come back to give an update. I was still stalling at Christmas, so decided that I would try to stick to maintenance for my current weight in the hope that a break from a larger deficit might kick start weight loss. It didn't, unfortunately BUT I was eating my exercise calories back too. I gained a couple of…

this is such a lovely thing to do @gradchica27 I'm sure those women will have appreciated it more than you know! I discovered today that all of my shoes are too big. Not just by a little bit either. They were all fine the other day so this is very unexpected!

Great Post! What an inspiration!

UK mum here too. I've lost 41lb. Just want to say you don't need to rush into premium. I have used mfp from the start and the free version has seen me through just fine. Maybe see how you get on before spending the money. Take some time to educate yourself about TDEE and calorie deficits as they really are the key to…

How is it Monday again! These weeks are flying by. I decided not to skate Goe the next few weeks and start fresh in January. I hit all my goals last week except vitamins again! So I'll stick with the same. Runs x 3 Pilates x 4 Weights x 3 Water/collagen/vitamins Have a great week everyone!

I noticed that friends around me, of a similar age (so early 40s) were starting to have health problems earlier this year. I realised that I could be next and really it was down to me to make a change. Who knows how much time we have. It was really a bit of a wake up call. I'd made excuses for years but no more. Even if I…

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! I hope the move isn't too stressful @human_bean @Pushkinnz I hope you are feeling better soon.

It has shown me very clearly who matters. I'm not out for compliments, don't care if people mention my weight loss or not (41lb), but it has been mildly upsetting to see people I thought were at least casual acquaintances if not friends, go completely out of their way to avoid me or ignore me. I don't understand it at all,…

Thanks for the recommendation @human_bean, that sounds really good. I've just (re)started running and am getting a bit bored of running with nothing to listen to. @violetanderson39 have you seen Ashley Horner? I think she has a podcast, she is very motivational (and in amazing shape!)

Hi! Fellow northerner here but been a bit further south for the last few years! I worked in Leeds many years ago. 40kg is amazing. Good luck to you!

Ice skating @CurvyCalorie! I have tried roller skating but it never ends well! A lot of my fellow adult skaters bought roller skates when the rinks closed but I knew I'd give myself an injury!

I'm in a similar plateau @human_bean it's so frustrating. I'm trying to focus on the NSVs (clothes feeling better, measurements dropping etc) but it is so hard when you know you are doing everything right. I just keep on keeping on and hope that something gives.
