I was able to get the garmin Vivofit online for $45 US, but that is without the heart rate monitor. It can be purchased along with it, though, if you choose, but that's more like $75 or 80 US. Then again, the monitor must be worn on the chest. I'm happy with it, without. It keeps track of steps, distance, calories burned,…

@edptanner I do the same thing! We must stop it!

Hey, I've only been on here for three days... what do I know? Beer and cheese are my problems. I think giving anything up entirely is problematic, though. (Unless it's, like, Cheetos...) It's setting oneself up to crash and burn. I tend toward the gradual process of cutting down on all of it. And running more. Be kind to…

I, too, am working at turning back the hands of time--at least on my energy level.

I'm 47 and working on losing 68lbs... so much! I'm working at home now, so I think excuses about stressful work are over. Used to be a committed runner and have been trying to get back to it. So far, I feel like this site is helping with that. So if you're going to stick around, I'll stick around, too.

Don't give up beer! (I mean, it's a little unrealistic, isn't it?) (Okay. Maybe it's not.) I've been cutting down, personally. Totally give up candy! Never ever ever again eat candy! Ever! (Well, maybe once a month or something. But that's rough because it's one of the most addictive thinks people eat...) We're all…

I'm new here, too. Working on 68 lbs! (Woah! Where did it come from? ...No, no, I know where it came from.) Feel free to add me.

Welcome! Feel free to add me. I just started, too!

Welcome! I've only been on here for three days, but I think a good place to start is with the food and exercise tracking. It's helping me shave off calories here and there, and getting me to increase my activity, so that's where I'm starting!
-
I'm trying keto, too. I'm mainly low carb and minimally processed. Feel free to add me!

I'm not a stay at home mom, but I'm caring for my dad over here. And I'm on a low-carb, minimally processed "plan"... I mean, that's just what I eat. My plan is more about reducing calories and fitting the exercise in... I've been consistent for all of three days--since I joined. Feel free to add me.

Keeping the diary going has been great for me (for the three days I've been on here). It helps me find ways to shave calories from what I eat and to increase my activity... Great resource if you use it daily!

Welcome!

Good luck on the new adventure!

Congratulation on sticking around this time. It may be habit now to keep up on MFP daily!
-
Welcome, Lolita. Good to have you here!
-
Welcome! I'm new, too, but I figured I'd start welcoming people anyway. What do you mean by: "I'm good for 2 or 3 months and off the wagon for a year"?
-
Thank you!

We all need motivation--especially at the start! I've found it's rough going from fit to overweight because it's so much harder than I recall it to be to keep in the habit of exercising regularly! I hear you!
-
I'm new, too, and looking to lose 68lbs. So I guess we should get on the boat and row...
-
Maaan... People say depression causes weight loss--but I've found it causes a lot of gain! I'm working on losing 68lbs myself!
-
No kids, but I do have a goal of 68lbs to lose! I'm with you!

Isn't the question how to track the calories burned via myfitnesspal? I'd like any ideas on that, too.
