I don’t know how large you are but that’s a lot of calories. I eat 1270 per day and don’t eat back exercise calories. I’m 68 and lose 1 lb per week. I need 1270 to feel satisfied so 1lb per week it is.

My partner eats super fast and I notice that she’ll take another bite while she still has food in her mouth whereas I chew and swallow before taking another. We eat about the same amount but she finishes way faster.

Thanks

They are tragic models for you of how not to “live” life. So sad. It’s awesome that you were able to turn this cycle around for yourself. Obesity is tragic but when parents feed their kids to the point of obesity it makes me so angry.

The package says 1/2 cup measure dry oatmeal is 150 calories. When I dump it on my scale and weigh the scant 1/2 cup it and times the grams by the calories per gram it always calculates out to over 200. Not weighing is a great way to eat more than you think!

Everyone is different for sure. I think the best advice is to diligently weigh your food. Every bite. When you really know how much you are eating you’ll be better prepared to have this conversation. Open your diary. Let someone here help you with the facts.

I wish I could eat back all my exercise calories everyday and still lose. I dip into them every once in a while.
-
Wow, I wash I could eat like some of you and still lose! Would you mind posting total calories for the day?!

Mine not working again. Comes and goes

Me too. I wrote MFP and it showed up yesterday. Gone again today and I wrote them and it showed up but gave me 577 calories for 6500 steps. WAY more than it has before and obviously wrong.

Why are you eating? I’m wondering if you are bored. Do you have a healthy, active peer group. It makes all the difference. Best of luck.

I followed the instructions to remove the Fitbit app and reload it still wouldn’t work. Finally I removed it and logged out of the MFP app, MFP.com and Fitbit.com and left it till morning. Today I reloaded it and everything is working fine. I read to wait 15 mins to relaod but overnight worked for me.

Good thought. Also it would be helpful if they had put this info on the forum here....

From the MFP website

I’ve got 5000 steps in and it’s given me 240 calories. I think others are right, you haven’t walked enough yet to get extra calories.

Why can't/won't some eat it?

I'm at 1300 calories set at sedentary and 1/2 lb loss per week. I "earn" 500 to 900 calories more most days. I lose about a lb to lb1/2 per week when I don't eat more than 25% or so back on average. If I eat more, loss is less of course. Not eating them back in no way puts me at a dangerous or unhealthy weight loss,…

Why do you drink ensure within 2 minutes of waking? Great job!

I can't understand why anyone would use quick oats. They're so over processed. I just put regular oats in a bowl with soy milk, water, whatever, microwave for 2 minutes and let it sit for a few more minutes to thicken while I do other things. That's it. The bowl has to be largish so it doesn't boil over. Just keep an eye…

You cannot sustain 1000 or likely even 1200. What is your hurry? Take your time, enjoy your meals exploring new foods. Eat nutritionally healthy food for the most part, enjoy your favorite foods in moderation, stay within your calories. Always keep your activity set at sedentary and add activities as able. I use a Fitbit…

Are you getting enough protein and fat? Eating plenty of whole grains and not just white flour? These made a huge difference for me.
-
Would you ever have to manually adjust calories? I mean won't MFP automatically adjust them as you lose weight?
-
How do you correct the calories?
-
Educate yourself on quality food. You won't be hungry on fewer calories if you're getting plenty of fiber. You're definitely getting plenty of iron. Be sure to drink lots of water. Fill up on low calorie, high fiber veggies. Beans(legumes) are a great source of fiber and protein. Do you have plenty to keep you busy that…

Kirkland bars are almost $41 for 20 or $2 per bar on their website. Are you getting them cheaper somewhere?

Sounds like the trails of an adult kid living with the parents! Just let it go in one ear and out the other and let her know to avoid the hassle, you'll cook for yourself. Don't sweat the small stuff!!
