  • Having a down day today. got in fight with angsty teenager last night. DH took their side, which just ticked me off. Had to go into my office to work today (as opposed to working from home, which I do several days a week since covid) so been spending the day dreading going home with unresolved fight with everyone. Going…
  • Hello all, did just OK over the holiday weekend. Didn't do too bad eating, but I didn't track very well. Went for a girls night for the first time in a couple years it feels like. We went to a fancy pants restaurant and then went to see Mama Mia at our local theatre. So much fun! Moved the oldest back into college with the…
  • 2 AF days so far this week. Going for 4.

  • Happy Friday all! Yesterday was meh. I didn't get any official exercise in as I had to work in my office. I did do a few minutes of practicing martial arts forms, but not enough to really count as exercise. Stayed within my calorie/food goals at least. And I had an Alcohol Free (AF) day as planned. Today will walk and…
  • Hello! I'd like to join. In June I did Moderation Mangement's Kickstart. I tried to add one AF day each week, and mostly was successful. In July I'd like to do 4 AF days a week. June I had only 9 AF days total, so if I can do my July goal it will be closer to 20. Seems a bit overwhelming, but I know it will help me lose…

  • Hello all! I'm Kim from Indiana. 50, married with three girls, 21, 17, and 11. Trying to lose 10 pounds this summer, which will put me at the high end of a healthy weight for my height. For workouts I like to walk, hike and do Kuk Sool Won, a Korean martial art. Been doing the Kuk Sool about 9 months now and just got my…
  • I was always horrible at anything remotely athletic growing up. My favorite thing is to sit in a comfy chair with a glass of wine reading a book. As I child I did gymnastics - badly. And that was it. I found as an adult that I enjoy less conventional type physical activities, and now that I'm older, I don't mind trying…
  • I hadn't really sat down to come up with goals, but I need to. Here's some initial thoughts... Short term: Get to a healthy weight/BMI for my height - by roughly mid or end of September. End of year at latest. As of this morning that would mean losing 9.4 pounds. I hope to do this by logging my food and trying to stay…
  • Hello I'm Kim. 50 years old. I live with my husband of 27 years, and our three girls, 21, 17 and 11. I've been on MFP forever off and on, and have recently decided to be more on, as I realized I am 10 pounds away from a "healthy" weight for my height. I've lost 25 pounds spread out over the past five years, so a very very…

  • I've definitely asked my OT, and it helps that he's also 50 and does martial arts himself. Just curious about possibly any specific strengthening exercises.
  • I had RNY 14 years ago. I'm not sure about VSG, but RNY still is working for me all these years (and one extra kid) later. I still have to watch my food and take my time and chew thoroughly or I regret it. I don't always track my food, but from time to time I do as a reminder/reset. Zero regrets.
  • I've lost 25 pounds in five years. I think that averages to something like .09 pounds per week. I'd love to lose a half pound a week! That being said, I realized that I'm only 10 pounds from a "not overweight" weight, and I really would like to lose those ten this year.
  • Hello, returning to MFP to try to get the last 10 or so pounds gone and am very concerned about husband's weight. I figure if I'm watching my food and exercise maybe he will do it with me. I think MFP has been tracking my weigh ins for about 5 years now. I've very very gradually lost 24.2 pounds in that time. my goal is…
  • Hello! I want to join. 48 yo and weight has been increasing since about end of January. It coincides suspiciously with end of Dryuary. Hmmm. Exercise been non-existent over the winter too. Starting to track today and may go back to lifting or walking to get started. Wish me luck & I'll read posts for motivation!
  • I'm post RNY about maybe 10 or 12 years. I still cannot eat as much volume wise as I could pre-op. I could maybe eat more close to normal person portions after a couple of years, but still not a large volume to this day. If I get a small burger, with bun, for example, I can maybe eat half. My thinking is that if you need…
