  • I should point out I have severe IBS as well, which gets worse during periods of stress (imagine me during exam season a few weeks ago). I need to eat small, light meals very slowly. This lunch for example would take me at least 45min to get down if I don't want it to come right back up again. I've had times where I…
  • Kcal: 1400-1450 (mainly working at my desk for summer) Carbs: 180-190gr Fat: 30gr Protein: 85-90gr Thx
  • Maybe you should try mindfulness. Basically means that you pay your full attention to everything you do. Mindful eating is helping me quite a bit. Futurelearn.com has a free course on mindfulness if you're interested.
  • Diets I did as a silly teen and will never do again: - Egg diet - lasted only a week and couldn't stand eggs for years after that - Slimfast diet - passed out after a couple of weeks and broke my ribs by hitting a chair on the way down. Need I explain what happens when you can't move for several weeks? - Grapefruit diet -…

  • Do you have a microwave at work? Then it's easiest to just make an extra portion for dinner and bring that to work for lunch. For salads you don't really need a recipe. Just throw your favourite veggies together. Falafel wraps are always good.
  • People always recommend red meat like beef steak, not realising that mussels, oysters and clams have over 3x the amount of iron in them per 100gr. Pumpkin seeds have 5x the amount of iron per 100gr compared to beef and nuts 2x. Another option is chicken livers: 3x as much iron compared to beef steak. And eat it with…
  • I don't drink regular milk because it makes my acne flare up big time. I usually go for vanilla rice milk, because it's delicious :).

  • A latte is about 90% hot milk with a little bit of espresso and a tiny layer of foam, so that's not surprising if you can't drink a regular cup of milk either.

  • Put a clean cloth or piece of kitchen roll in there to catch the condensation coming off the veggies. It's what we did at the restaurant I worked at to make leafy vegetables last longer. It's perfectly safe to eat as long as it isn't days old. It's just chemistry, the veggies are creating vapour as they do their thang.
  • If I keep snacks in my desk, I just mindlessly eat it. I have a bar of extra dark chocolate (one bite is enough) in case I get proper hunger pangs and a box of green tea. I bring homemade lunch into work each day and have a water bottle to refill.
  • Natural low fat Fromage frais (or quark) has around 8-10 grams of protein per 100gr / 50 kcal. Kind of tastes like really thick, less sour yoghurt. Doesn't really need anything, except maybe some fruit to sweeten it when you're not used to the taste yet. Great in smoothies too.
  • A protein drink and a big fruit smoothie with ground flax seeds. I used to have to get up at 4am every day to be at work at 5.30. That's too early to have the energy to chew, but at the same time I knew I had to eat something because my first break would be after 11 (I worked in a kitchen, where eating meant breaking food…
  • Easiest is to cook extra for dinner and reheat it in the microwave at work for lunch. Foods that are easy to batch cook and microwave: lentil chilli, fried rice with tons of veggies, vegetable curries, vegetable lasagna or pasta with veggies and tomato sauce, vegetable soups (tomato, butternut squash & carrot, minestrone…
  • I have been drinking sun warrior's Vanilla warrior blend as part of my breakfast for a good few months now. The taste actually really depends on what you mix it with. I found it horrid with almond or oat milk, but absolutely delicious with rice milk. I don't like to mix it into my smoothies as it makes them too thick (I…
  • Super-fast dinner: spinach sesame noodle stir fry Vegan lentil chilli by Jamie Oliver is another fave. Cook some pasta, add some frozen peas during the last minutes. Drain and add vegan pesto.
  • Hi. I am a vegetarian (for who knows how long), slowly cutting out dairy to become a full vegan at the moment. Feel free to add me as a friend and/or to ask me for recipes :).
