Good luck with your plans. I too have returned after being away for a year and a half or so!!

I'm happy with January. Lost about 14 lbs. Need to keep watching what I'm eating (MFP is a massive help) and need to step up the cycling - my first big cycle of the Year is 3 months away - 65 miles round Loch Ness... I'm not in a diet as such, but eating less rubbish - and less during the day. Only fault is probably eating…

Never heard of those... May give them a look!

Evening all, week 3? More of the same. Keeping my eating sensible, and resisting the temptation of eating a lot at work (nice subsidised restaurant). Only thing I could try to do is eat dinner a little earlier. Hop to keep walking at least 10k steps per day too.

I'm not sure Samantha - but a look at the 'exercise' calories that MFP is giving you daily should highlight if there is an issue. I think having MFP linked to multiple accounts causes it to treat the same exercise as multiples though! If your running app is only linked to fitbit, it should be OK though? But don't log the…

When I first set up mine it was double counting. So I removed the Link to Strava - you still get the calories adjustment, just not the status saying what you did, you can still always add that yourself if you wish! There may be another way to do it so I will watch this with interest...

Susan - losing 2 lbs is great! Well done.

A big mistake I made last year was get to a position where I was cycling lots - had lost a fair amount of weight, so stopped using MFP. Now clearly at my age (young!) and with my genes, I can't do this now - so looks like I'm going to be using MFP to watch my calories and converse with like minded people... I also need to…

I've been thinking about this more. Where I struggled last year, was knowing how much to eat when I was stepping up my cycle training. I needed to eat as I was doing some bigger miles on the bike, but I am sure it was a little more than required. May need to actually look it up for this year...

Few Scots on here... I'm from Linlithgow/Edinburgh

Week 1 was good, lost around 3 lbs. Upped my walking and trying to get out on the bike more, hoping for more success in the next few weeks!

For me - journal all my food. - cycle on 2 days (10 mile commute each way) - other days do a 3 mile walk - walk 15,000 steps - Friday (day off) aim for a 6 mile walk Sounds OK for week 2...

It was a good weekend. Had 7 hours overtime, so when the chance arose I was up and walking some parts of the office. I then got home and walked 5 miles into town to meet the family and cone home again. Also did a 4.6 mile walk yesterday. I'm hoping I see results soon...

I used to use the phone app, but found that when I needed to charge the phone - at the office - I obviously wouldn't get the correct step count. Wasn't a massive issue until I decided to focus on losing weight again...

Thanks. I think I've sussed it. It only gives me additional calories once I have passed my 2000 for the day...
-
I'm still on the fence. I've just finished a 4.6 Mike walk, yet got no adjustment? Maybe that I'm not understanding how it works. MFP would have given me an extra 400 call for it?

I got my Charge HR during the week, so far so good. It really makes you more aware of your steps and instincly makes you want to walk more...

Similar to you guys, my biggest obstacle is me! I done so well last year, but my 'break' went on too long, I ate badly and didn't weigh myself. If I had, I'm sure I would have stopped the slide. I had stopped using MFP by this point. Being on board with you guys now will I am sure help!

Well done!

Log every day on MFP to help me track cals Use my Fitbit and aim to hit/increase my step target Cycle more - try to commute at least twice a week (20 mile days) Enjoy the odd 'treat' day bit try to have…

Hello folks. Today was a good day 16,000 steps on the Fitbit (helped due to the 20 mile round trip commute)... I earned my dinner tonight! Great that everyone here is really motivated!
-
Happy to go with whatever... Last time I was on this I done well for so long, but had no-one really pushing me - will be good to have the help!
-
It's definitely gives me more motivation to do as well as I can and not have to lie to an app...
