Love Halo Top! IMO, it is a healthier option than ice cream (for most of us). Its protein is higher, calories lower, and it makes a nice alternative to yogurt. I try to stick to the lower calorie flavors, and I love the mint chip, pistachio, and vanilla. Didn't care for the lemon cake, though, and I love lemon. :(

I totally agree with this. Patience is the toughest part.

Many studies have established that periodic fasting is not in any way harmful or nutritionally unsound. When it's done responsibly, there is no "metabolic damage."

I find that on fast days, soup is my best friend. I make a pureed cauliflower and onion soup with vegetable stock, skim milk, and wedges of laughing cow light swiss cheese. To that, I'll add a serving of lean protein and lots of veggies, and it makes a very satisfying dinner. Homemade cream of mushroom, tomato, or pureed…

Love it! I'm doing 4:3. Easiest diet I've ever been on. I do 600 calories on fast days even though I'm female. I just can't get down to 500, so to balance it out better, I do a 4:3 instead of 5:2. On non-fast days, I eat 1300-1400 most of the time. Lost 23 lbs. in 5 months.

I quit many, many years ago, but I did it cold turkey. It was hell, but I did it because cigarettes turn your body into toxic waste. You can quit, too--honest. Some people find the patches help them. Some things that helped me: I made a cross-stitch quilt, so I was using my hands to embroider all the time. I've heard…

I don't lift on fasting days, but I do cardio and yoga. OTOH, I doubt it would matter much. I've been on IF for 5 months, and my energy level is fantastic, especially on fast days.

Raw is most accurate, IMO. But I almost always weigh meat after it's cooked because most of our meat we cook "bone in". I just make sure my calorie value is for whichever way I weighed it.

I have done WW in the past, but could never stick to it for long. And the last time I tried it, I actually gained weight. I hated the new plan because it was so restricted that all I did was cheat. Needless to say, that didn't go well. And I was paying them $20 a month for the privilege. No thanks. I like MFP way better;…

I love my Aria that coordinates with my Fit Bit and My Fitness Pal. It was pricey, but so worth it.

I limit eating out, because it's just too hard to accurately gauge the calories in most restaurant meals. I also limit alcohol because once I start drinking, any thought of my diet goes out the window. That said, I don't forbid myself these things. I only limit them to very special occasions.

In the beginning, I was losing weight quickly enough that daily weighing was worthwhile. But once my weight loss slowed down, I found weekly to be better. I do like the daily weigh in for data points, but from a motivational standpoint, I can't take it.

IKR? WTH? No one looks good in crop flares. NO ONE. They need to die (as they so thankfully did in the 70's and the 90's). And while we're on the subject, fellow fashionistas, when are designers going to bring back V-necklines and boot cut jeans? Those of with boobs and hips would be eternally grateful.

I do! Been on a 4:3 plan since October (I did 6:1 from Thanksgiving to New Year's). I have lost 23 pounds. I do 16:8 on all days, with 600 calories on fast days and 1300 calories on non-fast days. It is the only diet I have ever managed to stick to, and I've found it really easy, since I have never been a breakfast eater.…

Only 3? No way. My absolute must-have staples: apples, Greek yogurt (Fage!), cauliflower, eggs, cottage cheese, cooked chicken breast strips, cooked shrimp, low sodium chicken broth/stock, bell peppers, spaghetti squash, butternut squash, oats, green beans, and hot tea.

Counting calories on MFP is the easy part. The psychological game is what's hard. Might I suggest you ask your hubby to eat his chocolate in the other room during your first few weeks? After awhile, you won't care so much, but those first few weeks without sugar are a bear. Also, find a diet that you can stick with. Even…

I'm almost exactly five months in and I've lost 23 pounds. I am 5'6", 55 years old, and now weigh 146. Yes, I have dieted before (always calorie counting in various forms--that's what works), but until now, I have never lost much because I couldn't stick to it long enough. This time, I am doing Intermittent Fasting, and…

I am having the exact same problem! It's forcing a calorie intake of 1500 calories a day on me, and saying I will only lose 1/3 of a pound per week, despite my goal of 1 pound per week. Good grief, my TDEE is only 1700. At 1500 calories a day, and losing 1/3 lb. per week, I'll need a year and half to lose 20 pounds. That's…
