  • You could get an idea of how many calories of green vegs you eat in a day and lower your daily calorie goal to reflect this.
  • I would cook it at 350F and check it at 20-30 minutes so the onion doesn't start burning. If you put it in with the roast, though, it doesn't really affect the roast's flavor -- it's more that the vegetables absorb the roast juices.
  • Did you only eat it raw? Slice it up with some apples and onions and put them over a pork roast before it goes in the oven. If you don't eat meat, you could roast them alone. It's a good flavor combination and not licoricy.
  • You can get Sweet Like Sugar in pints. I just finished one the other day. I've found it at Walmart and also at Market Basket (a regional chain).
  • They have nutritional facts on their website. Click on a product from the menu, then click on "nutritional facts." If you're making a substitution, do the math.
  • If you have too many plants producing at the same time, pick the squash when they're babies. It will be just like a fancy restaurant.
  • You don't need to be insulting. I only mentioned the two languages because I've never seen a listing so random. (And your wording did imply that it was totally in French.)
  • When I clicked on the link, the first page was entirely in English and the menu entries were part English/part French. For example, one type of eggs said asparagus/swiss cheese and another said jambon/suisse.
  • 240 to 180s is a gigantic weight loss -- especially with a limited variety of food to choose from! Your dad probably sees that you've done what he hasn't even though he has the ability to make the same food choices, and he's (maybe subconsciously) sabotaging your efforts to show that the weight loss is not sustainable in…
  • Thanks for the recipe. This looked really good when you posted it over in the other thread. I make something similar without the mixed vegs and with more tomatoes. I also put in about 300 g. of baked sweet potato -- it melts right in so sweet potato haters wouldn't even notice but it rounds out the flavor. I also put in…
  • I got 386 calories when I put it in the recipe importer. Correction - My avocado value was messed up; make that 568 calories.
  • How about a low-carb wrap, flatbread or tortilla cut into strips or wedges and baked until crisp?
  • This chickpea salad recipe was good. http://www.ambitiouskitchen.com/2015/03/the-easiest-chopped-chickpea-greek-salad/
  • Do you need to have access to the stats for all of the individual ingredients? Why don't you just treat it like a food entry. Add it to the food database -- call it "Diane's Great Recipe" or whatever, and input the total carbs, fat, protein, etc. per serving that you already calculated.
  • Hasn't anyone had grape poptarts? They're similar to blueberry but better (I think). Sometimes Walmart has them but not always. That said, brown sugar cinnamon is my favorite. For me, it has to be brown sugar or a fruit flavor -- that is all. (Unfortunately, I don't eat them anymore for sugar reasons.)

  • This may be country specific. In the US, nut milk (and soy) can be found in the refrigerated dairy case in "normal" coated cardboard cartons, just like some of the dairy milk. On the shelf, the same brand of nut milk (like Blue Diamond or Silk) will be in aseptic cartons, like the shelf-stable milk (Parmalat, etc). I've…
  • I think the packaging and the website are unclear, but I think the yogurt with chocolate only has 100 calories. If you look at the website and click on a Greek crunch variety, it clearly breaks down the yogurt and topping on the label -- the yogurt and crunch topping together add up to the 190 cal and 6 g of fat. I believe…
  • I put roasted bite-sized chunks in my vegetarian chili.
  • I put roasted butternut squash chunks and some baked sweet potato in mine. The squash retains its shape but the sweet potato will eventually dissolve and add some sweetness and thickening. I also put in frozen kale. I don't use corn because I think the corn/sweet potato combo would be too sweet, but without sweet potato, I…
  • I watched some videos on YouTube about Anderson Cooper's eating habits (Anderson Cooper picky eater in YouTube search box). He does seem pickier than you but he says that he isn't interested in food and just eats the same thing everyday. As far as developing healthy habits, if you don't care what you eat can you find a…
  • Muesli is really good in overnight oats. I used Bob's Red Mill which had raisins and coconut. I put in chopped apples as the additional fruit and some cinnamon to complement the raisins. (Raisins and berries didn't sound like a good combo.)
  • Almond Breeze - Unsweetened Almond Milk Vanilla, 60 ml Blackberries - Raw, 30 g Blueberries - Raw, 30 g Strawberries - Fresh, 30 g Old Wessex 100% Whole Grain 5 Grain Cereal, 30 g Total 0% Fage - 0% Greek Yogurt Plain, 30 g This is what I used for my last serving of overnight oats. (I used a rolled grain blend for this…
  • One fennel bulb, two apples and one large yellow or white onion cut into strips and piled on a pork tenderloin -- roast until pork is done. Oh my, so good!

  • Don't forget to look in your grocer's produce section for marked down vegs that need to be sold right away. They might be a little bruised or getting limp but you can still cook with them.
