Hey there. I feel you. I have 4 boys, and the oldest 3 have special needs. My oldest is on the spectrum and my second has SPD with loads of texture avoidance issues so I completely understand how hard it is to plan meals that everyone will eat! I also understand what's it's like to struggle with putting yourself first when…

Thank you for sharing your amazing story. This stranger is so proud of you!!!

WOW. Amazing work! Thank you for posting, seriously.

I lost my avoidance of mirrors and hatred of photographs. I lost the helplessness I used to feel when one of my kids darted off and I was unable to catch them. I lost my reliance on the men in my life to pick up all the heavy things. I also lost my patience in listening to people complain about things that are within their…

My favorite part of this is the advice you give at the end. Just start!!!

I have anxiety and depression and I understand where you're coming from. Exercise helps me, tremendously. It helps my symptoms so much that if I skip workouts more than 2 or 3 days in a row there is a significant difference in my mood and ability to manage stress. It was extremely difficult for me to start and I didn't…

I was a 38HH (uk) when I started, now my 32G's are just half full. Editted cause mfp ate the rest of my comment. As I was saying, I kind of miss my big boobs books but I DON'T miss the back pain or not being able to button up shirts. Good luck to you!

Sweetened drinks.

Sometimes. Exercise tends to suppress my appetite and on rest days I feel like a black hole. So I usually save up the exercise calories for my rest days just so I don't break my deficit for the week.

OP, whatever you are likely to stick with is what is most effective. You've already gotten a lot of advice so I wanted to share my own experience. I started near where you are at 277. I did a 12 week program through my gym that was basically an introduction into different cardio and weight machines. At first I really liked…

Thank you guys so much! I bought some cotton wraps and a basic pair of training gloves. The wraps are a little tricky, and there are a few different methods I've found on YouTube but I'm sure the more I practice with them the better I'll get at it. I've been binge watching videos on form and foot work and punches and…

Could be water weight. Could be batteries going bad on your scale. Try changing the batteries.

I've lost 115 pounds and I haven't given up anything. In fact, I had a whopper meal for dinner and I still didn't break my deficit. It's all about moderation!

The first thing I'd personally suggest is to pull up some Yoga on youtube because you sound extremely stressed out. Slow down! You're ok. Your metabolism isn't trashed, it's fine! If your energy levels are low it's more likely your diet is the culprit for that. Set your goals to .5-1 as previously suggested and work on…

Treating "skinny" as a negative term is no different than treating "fat" negatively. Any negative connotations are most likely internalized. I think it's great to send positive messages, the way you did, emphasizing her body's abilities rather than encouraging self esteem based solely on physical appearance, but children…

Tighten up your logging a bit and give it some more time. The longer you do it the better you get at it. It took me about 3 weeks of logging and working out to start seeing progress on the scale. Water retention, as PP have mentioned, may also be a culprit. Good luck to you!

This is so interesting to me! It's amazing how different people can weigh/look at the same sizes. I'm 5'7" and when I weighed 277 I wore a 3x, Torrid size 3 or 22/24. Right now I weigh 163 and wear a size M/10. I'm always looking for progress pictures for women with similar stats, and usually (even with the same or even…

Someone linked me to your post, and i.I'm so glad they did. Thank you for every thing you wrote and all the pictures you've shared. I wish I could tell you how much your prospective has helped me. ❤

Thank you all for the replies and encouragement. When you start off so heavy it takes a while to actually see a change (the first time I really saw one was after I had hit -40#) and at this point, I don't have nearly as much left to lose so it's hard to see how 20 more would make much difference. I'll probably change my…

Progress pics because who cares without pictures

It just depends on what you want it for. I lost over 100 pounds without one. My husband bought me a tomtom spark music for my birthday and I love it because it lets me see the progress I'm making on my runs (pace, stride rate, distance). I personally think it's a little step-happy but I love that I can put music on it and…

Girl, you are goals! Time to change your name from fatbelly to FLATBelly, no? You look great!
-
What! No way. One year? That's incredible. You look utterly fantastic and so much happier.

:o my goodness. Great work!

110 pounds down so far. Can't wait to get to a healthy BMI.
-
That's amazing! Congratulations! I'm almost there with you. 110 down, 12 to go to be in normal range. It's a little mind blowing to think about. Maybe it's the sleep deprivation talking but I wonder if it's like meeting your body for the first time.

Great job!
