I agree. The black and white, poison vs clean just screams warning signs about a really unhealthy relationship with food...

Hopefully mfp will help! I had to weigh the negatives of untreated mild hypo with exacerbation of my other condition. I chose the hypo

I dunno. I'd probably just live and let live. You are *literally* on a forum where food is *literally* the point of the forum! I eat chocolate sometimes and I feel proud that I've managed to a) plan it into my daily calorie allowance and b) am able to stop at a small portion that can fit into my calorie allowance. You…

What clients do you work with? It could be a great opportunity to influence their diets too. I used to work in disability and really encouraged healthy eating and group cooking.

I'm a mess of autoimmune diseases. See a dermatologist. Get comfortable with steroid creams, or prednisolone if it's bad enough. Dunno why people with autoimmune disease think that refusing to take drugs proven to return their immune system to normal is better than living in misery. I've tried every diet under the sun…

Hello everyone! I'm from Australia and I have 104lb total to lose (I actually got out a calculator to check that I'd qualify for this group, lol- metric system here). I've lost so far 18lb so that gives me 86 still to go. I feel. . Just totally daunted by it. It has taken me like 6 months just to lose 18lb. SIGH. I love…

April wedding here. . .I'm not looking until February! (just having a casual garden picnic though and plan to get the res from Modcloth)

I have a cheat meal every week.

I have hashimotos antibodies and subclinical hypothyroidism- trending lower now. I'm basically waiting for it to poop itself completely before I go on meds, as I have another autoimmune condition that is affected by thyroxine. It's awesome. RAWR.

Could also be T1 diabetes which is incurable and autoimmune. It's hard to diet as T1

I think we'd be on the same drugs... pred + fludro?

Pred + fludro here. I have autoimmune dysautonomia.

Hi! I'm still learning how to use mfp and lost this thread! How are y'all doing??
-
I must have awesome self esteem cos I haven't lost much at all yet but I'd never call myself a "not"!

Ugh. To ignore those who go on about having to do this for the rest of your life. This is a diet and there's nothing magical about it. Eat whatever you want, as long as it's under your calorie goal. When you get to your goal weight, eat at your calorie goal to stay there. Don't get malnourished by living off instant…

Right on! I've always adored exercise (and always been 40kg overweight... go figure lol). But exercise is an entirely optional part of weight loss. Food is where it's at. Challenging the low carb thing too- you know what would be awesome for your pcos? To lose weight. More awesome than beginning a super restrictive low…

Me!

Wow. I think a few of you would be happier ditching the weight of awful husbands.

Your doctor sounds reasonable. Here are some low cost ways to eat as she directed: *substitute. Instead of pasta, use spaghetti squash if you're in the USA (I'm in Australia, we cant get it here which is sad!), or spiralise some zucchini (unfortunately the machine is a cost but believe me, once you've got it you'll get…

Hello :) I don't have lupus but I have a bunch of other autoimmune conditions and am familiar with prednisolone and steroids. I take prednisolone and florinef (another steroid) and have for the last 4 years since I got sick. I've put on 20kg! But, have lost 5kg in the last 6 weeks. I am looking for friends too, but ones…

Check out your thyroid I reckon.

I drink tomato juice every day as I have super low blood pressure and POTS. I figure that'll do me for fruit. So when I want sweet things I have a hot chocolate or packet of ovaltenies or chocolate. I figure as long as I'm meeting my micro and macro goals anything goes.
