  • Don't talk to yourself in ways that you would not tolerate from your fiancee or from me, a stranger. Dont' talk to yourself in ways that you wouldn't want to hear your husband to be talk to HIMself. How would you feel to hear him call himself "old, fat, and ugly?" etc. ? You are right to do this for yourself. You deserve…
  • You are not only inspiring me but also the family members I am sharing this with. You GO girl, it's Great! :)
  • I am probably going to kick myself but several posters here have mentioned "IIFC" or something like that on this thread...can someone tell me what that stands for??? thanks.
  • I have a vivofit 2 and love it. (garmin.) I really like the chime/red bar feature on it - helps me get up and move more every single day. I find it to be pretty accurate. However, I suggest buying a different strap than the one it comes with - if you take it off and on (one doesn't have to do so as it's waterproof...) the…
  • I take it one hour at a time, I think about the people I am doing this for the most (including myself of course but in my case it includes my husband and my diabetic mother who needs to lose weight) and I read what people say on MFP that inspires me. I am not really a very social person but I have finally learned in last…
  • Me too!! Friend requests sent... to both of you. We are all in this together. :)
  • Hang in there - and don't beat yourself up over what you can't change. Just tell yourself that you won't do that again this month (or at least not this week!) That is literally all you need to do. One day at a time and when it sucks - one HOUR at a time. :)
  • Salon Pas patches might help if the pain is mild - they are capscasin (sp?) based, hot pepper stuff - kind of like icy hot. Fish oil is probably not harmful and has been shown to help some people with inflammation. I take it but not megadoses. All the best to NE OH... My Aunt lived in Avon Lake I think it was forever... :)
  • I am in. Have been walking a lot for about a month (I use a Garmin vivofit) and am almost up to 10K a day! My husband is walking with me - but support is always helpful too (here) and I really need to get with the program of doing some toning/exercising. That, plus I'm struggling with figuring out exactly how to work with…
  • You CAN do this! I will add you as a friend on here - and you will find *lots* of helpful people round here. We are all in this together - take one step at a time.
  • Me too - count me in, anyone can add me. We run our own business so I don't have a lot of time to post- but I am glad to be part of the group. I've lost 8 lbs so far - about 100 to go! Thanks!
  • Hey - I'm trapped in the US of A due to having been born here... but my husband is British...can I be an honorary member? o:)
  • Hello All - I am so close to being 50 I can see it and I was happy to see this group here. I am new to MFP but have been loving my Garmin since I got it in early March. My goal is to hit my step goal every day for the remainder of April and to monitor my diet in writing every day too! Have a great day, ya'll!
  • Hi Folks! I am new here but I have been a thyroid patient forever - had two thyroid surgeries but still have some thyroid tissue so who knows - my body is probably all over the map. Anyway - would love to have some thyroidless friends to support each other. Will send friend requests to all of you... thanks!
  • I may not post much and am new here but seeing motivated folks= awesome. I don't really know how to add people....
