  • NICU nurse here, congratulations! I'm sure your babies are beautiful!
  • What is your body fat percentage? It's hard to determine if you have weight to lose or not as you just describe yourself as very athletic. I am 5'5 current weight 143 lbs, goal weight 132 lbs. I rock climb 3 to 4 times a week, two hours at a time. I have a lot of muscle, but I still have fat to lose. My body fat percentage…
  • My blood pressure has been known to be 80/50, but typically is mid 90s/low 60s. Your blood pressure is not low under any standard. I have lots of experience being dizzy and passing out (I have vasovagal syncope). I was passing out 5+ times a day for almost 6 months, getting every cardiac test you can get done and trying…

  • From 164 to 132 I went from a 34D to a 34 B. I LOVE B cups though. I feel sexy but they don't get into the way when I work out.
  • At 5'5 a healthy weight according to BMI is 111-149. So 125 is on the low end not high end, 130 lbs is right in the middle. I just wanted to point this out (I'm 5'5 and on the higher end of a healthy BMI).
  • 5'5 started at 164 a year and a half ago, got down to 132 but have gained some weight back throughout the last 6 months. Between grad school and work it seems I keep putting my health aside. I'm currently 140. My first goal is to get down to 132 lbs again, but ultimately goal is to weigh between 115 and 120.
  • You still have yet to answer these questions I asked. I asked to be helpful. But if you don't actually want help then that's fine, but your post sounded like you wanted help/advice.
  • 1. Are you weighing your food with a food scale? If not, get a scale and start weighing to the gram. 2. Are you eating back all of your exercise calories? Myfitnesspal notoriously overestimates exercise calories, try eating back half instead of all. 3. What is your height and weight? Calorie goal?
  • Go to a doctor. I get dizzy and pass out very frequently (several times each day), and I have vasovagal syncope. Large meals can make it worse, but the only person who can tell you what you need is a medical doctor.
  • There isn't necessarily a "best" exercise to do to lose weight. Just moving more burns calories. So I would recommend finding a type of exercise you enjoy (be it walking, jogging, bike riding, weight lifting, zumba, rock climbing, whatever else..) that you enjoy and you will be more likely to stick with it. I tried to be a…
  • What medication would this be?
  • I decided I would rather over estimate than underestimate so I just logged it as 1000 calories. I emailed the company to see if I could get nutritional information for the future. Thanks for all of the recommendations!
  • Thank you for the suggestion!
  • I have tried following these steps, and it says they are connected but they are not sharing information. If anyone has any advice that would be greatly appreciated.
  • Actually a female. I'm not arguing the fact that losing at a fast rate may be unhealthy, I was just looking for an actual reason why. The "you can lose 2 lbs a week if you need to lose x amount, and you can lose 1 lb a week if you weigh x" amount seem so arbitrary. And I did state I'm not going to attempt to lose weight…
  • Thank you! I will looks that up, but that actually makes sense. I appreciate the info, very insightful!
  • I rock climb for 3 hours most days which burns a lot of calories, I also weight lift and run. If I didn't do these things, sure to lose 2 lbs a week would require a low amount of calories. But with these activities (that btw I love and am doing so often because I love, not because I'm trying to burn calories), it really…
  • To be fair, with the amount I exercise I can eat over 1200-1400 calories a day and still be at a 2 lb deficit per week. So I do think there should be science backing it, not just an arbitrary number someone chose.
  • Dang! Good job!!!
  • On the days I don't stick to my calorie goal I don't track. I pick what I'm going to eat as the day goes. And no uncontrolled overeating has not been an issue in the past.
  • I started rock climbing last year and have gotten really into it, climbing 2 or 3 days a week. I am working towards goals of becoming a better climber. I know 115 is borderline for 5'5 but the heavier I weigh the harder it is to climb. I will reevaluate when I get to 130, 120, 120, etc. to see how I feel and the gains I'm…
  • 5'5 138-142 lbs, female, 25. Goal weight 115.
  • NICU nurse here. Please please please do not take any medication or any dosage of medications not recommended by your OB (this is in response to you saying you're taking more than you should be). I know you really don't feel well right now, but you need to keep going to your doctor to find a treatment that works for you…
  • Yeah. Eat less calories than you burn.
  • Having men stare at me when I am doing pull ups and chin ups. What's even worse is when one of them comes over to tell me that those are too hard and women shouldn't be able to do them. I was overweight before and have worked hard to be able to do those exercises. It makes me feel very self conscious.
  • I'm 5'5 137 lbs and had my body fat percentage recently calculated at 18.1%. My top abs and obliques are visible, but not my lower abs. If I were you, I wouldn't try to lose anymore weight to get defined abs, rather I would start working out and weight lifting to build up your muscle. If you truly are 15% body fat and your…
  • Donating blood.... it's a wonderful thing to do AND burns calories (I've read around 650 calories per liter). So if you donate 5 times you can lose a pound AND save lives
  • Later year I lost 30 lbs (5'5 female, went from 164 to 134). I really couldn't notice a difference, I even thought my scale was messed up because I thought there was no way I look the same at 134 and at 164. Finally, I decided to by new pants because mine were feeling loose (looking back they were very lose). I went from a…
