  • Hi I thought the @ worked as a notifier but doesn't seem to.. sigh! Hi to all.
  • escargot can vary. I think the 1st time I had it was upon stumbling upon a snail festival in Italy when very young and traveling. very fresh and served with melted butter it was good. since then it has been (I think) frozen and blech. not horrible, just not fresh and delicious. I think it's probably most commonly coming…
  • ahh oui ! I could eat snails, strong cheese ( <3 ), oysters, though I don't go nuts over snails and oysters, I have enjoyed foie gras finally unethical though it seems to be. that's about it in your list and I'm not a very difficult eater, in terms of taste! I like almost all spices and herbs in variable doses... and mixes…
  • @ginnytez and others hi! I can try checking in from time to time. if you d like me to read a personal message If you write @bananasandoranges I'll get it. I'm absolutely unable to skim all this abundant list for all group and personal mails. if you don't want to no problem. I totally get it we re each in our own internet…
  • Hi everyone.I've been off the chats for ages. it's hard to keep up with all when working full time etc etc. house move and so on. it's such a huge group I can never read all and feel frustrated when I can t. ( don't want to just post without reading) I just found an old personal mail from auntie bk asking for news. thank…
  • @ginnytez thanks for the shout out. things are variable. glad to have gotten a half-chapter (or chapter, 23 pages) sent out yesterday. Hoping to hear from my corrector soon. taxes are due tomorrow. Some other material stuff to tend to. Took care of sending accounts to dentist. there was a glitch and they said they were…
  • hello everyone! my 1st post of the month. Thanks @barbiecat for starting us off as always! nothing really special at present over here. tracked most days but not all. 63000 steps last week. I step a lot during weekdays and less on weekends! 9000 to 18000 weekdays last week (sometimes 3 or 4000 in morning little walk + rest…
  • sending good thoughts to all. hugs and support and encouragement to those who need them long day, as usual, nothing special, taking care of stuff, all seems to take more time all told than is available. conundrum! weather is nice.
  • REUNIONS I went once. Early on I had no with to go back, then later with Facebook and whatnot I was curious and an old close friend called many of us up and got us to get together to go, rent a hotel suite together and spend a little weekend together. it worked out pretty well considering it was 4 women that had barely…
  • @cityjaneLondon Heather, thanks for transferring that quote I was seeking! same with calories isn't it! This is the trick. 21 calories à day too much makes 1 kilo in. year. With up to 1 -2 kilos fluctuation any day, it's virtually impossible to track such a slow gain or loss, in. way that it shows up before. a few months…
  • @cityjaneLondon I can relate about needing to pull back on calories with lesser exercise. When very young I ate a lot and exercised a lot, partly to burn it off, and partly out of antsy ness. Older I found it way less time and energy consuming to eat less and exercise just moderately normally. Now I'm exercising even less…
  • @TerriRichardson112 @cityjaneLondon thanks for the shout outs! Today okay so far in some levels. not many steps. food relatively light. Had a felafel minus the bread out at lunch. surely among the cheapest non sandwich meals out to be had. A felafel plate cost twice, so I said I'd order the felafel and just eat around it…

  • 4000 steps to start day. good protein breakfast Going for a yearly specialist check up across town today. I need to get there 30 min early to be on the safe side plus 40 min transport. with round trip that eats up the morning. I'll bring a book on the subway.
  • GINNY, how sweet to get a loving text from your granddaughter! LISA I didn't realise there's a "save draft" that's a big boon! BARBARA I can relate about changing wish to see people or do different activities.

  • HEATHER I think you will love Iceland. I only went for a couple of days for a stopover on the way to the usa - and it was a bust as I had belly issues, so really couldn't do an expedition, BUT I still liked it, and have no regrets, in retrospect. (not for the faint of budget!) Unlimited hot springs, hot tubs in many…
  • TRACEY accessible living. Wise friends. I had some friends who did that but ended up deciding to move at retirement time. My dad and others have moved bedroom down to the living room or den when mobility issues arose. Some I know built their dream homes on hills w long walks to get into house and realize they'll likely…

  • Hi Everyone. Getting away for a couple of days.... skimming your posts xxx.
  • Hi just popping in! Hello to all!
  • Rita (((hugs))) Barbara I'm so sorry about you having to let Gino to another future family Barbie that is a cute video I had to work a ton this past week on some thing. Didn't really have time off on weekend. Also complicated relation in our collective. One person difficult to deal with and rather than sorting it out one…
  • MACHKA I agree it's good to like one's body. I'm fine with mine overall. Now losing is more about health. When I was younger it was more about appearance and also balanced well-being I thing. So I have been very tired of late. I have gained about 17 pounds in 5 years. That's about + 15% that I'm carrying around every day.…
  • GINNY, I know that for me some foods definitely give me sniffles etc. I can eat dairy in small doses, BUT in pollen season, I really tend to avoid it. I at nothing till 4pm yesterday (poor planning) when I had a small banana and a full fat fruit yogurt. I started sniffling as I was eating the yogurt. I have experienced…
  • BARBARA oh I see you have 3 dogs, GINO TUMBLE and...
  • GINNY do you try experimenting with food, (avoiding some things) in relation to sinuses?
  • I was trying to keep heart rate above 115 but I find it so effortful so now I try to keep it above 100 and often over 115. Cause out of boredom I watch clips or a series or movie and then I'm thinking about the movie and not the exercise! Better than nothing !
  • BARABA I'm having a hard time keeping track of your dog situation. Did you have one but now you have two including a puppy? MACHKA I think younger I stayed more hour-glassy-ish (not extremely but more) It's DEFINITELY post menaupause that all goes to the middle. no doubt about it. I'm not sure that it's worse for me…
