Hey I hear ya. 32 for a couple more months and a father of 5. My wife and I have had awesome luck and I'd love to help.

Just needed to try something different and found it just works best for my body. I did higher carb for years and the best results I got were how I eat now. I have way more energy with the way I eat now, and I stay lean and built without working as hard as I did a few years back. Plus I started reading medical journals and…

Well said Russellb97. Everyone's first in stinker is to train harder and longer and diet harder. Huge mistake. There is only one reason you wouldn't lose weight. Not in a deficit. If you've been in a deficit for a long time and lost a bunch of weight then stopped, then it's time to reset. Take calories closer to…

Ok first off how many calories are you taking in? Also, the processed carbs like the oats you like are raising your sugar causing an insulin spike resulting in a crash and or hunger. Legumes also play a roll in stopping your cells from being able to fully absorb all the nutrients from the good foods. If you wanna add and…

What are your goals and purpose? Are you new to strength training or just new to trying to add muscle? Personally to add muscle and to stay lean I eat about 60% fats and 10% carbs all from veggies, nothing processed. That's year round forever. All it takes to add the muscle is time under tension. 8-12 rep range and even…

Protein and fats. You're hungry again because you ate a bowl of grains and your body wanted protein and fats. When you eat processed carbs and grains like that, your sugars go up and insulin gets released. The result of a large insulin spike is a small crash or hunger feeling.
-
Best option is to get your protein from foods rather than supplements.. Cheaper and better for you. Just my 2 cents...

Ok real quick, lots of great answers. Yes, for muscle growth the 8-12 rep range is good. Time under tension is what will build muscle, not eating more food. If you're hungry, it's a simple fix, just eat. I only eat about 1500-1600 cals a day and never hungry. It's what I eat. Also try not to do a bunch of solid state…

Best way is to just keep everything simple. Simple simple simple. And fun lol if the food or training program isn't enjoyable ditch it.

Caloric deficit will take weight off even if you aren't mobile. I've been there. Hang in there..
-
Yeah no need to be super crazy low. There are options for everyone. Welcome to MFP!

Oh, well then run sprints and drink more water. Keep up the great work
-
Sprints, sprints, sprints. Fat melter along with a slight caloric deficit and lower sodium and drink a gallon and a half- two gallons water a day.. Some of what you think is fat might just be some water retention.

First off, to preserve muscle you don't need a gram of protein per pound of body weight. I don't know why people have said that over the years. I'm very lean and have a good amount of muscle, take zero supplements of any kind, eat .5-.75 per pound and no problems.. Do what works for you and forget the rest. I also just…
-
Whatever works for you I guess.. Personally I don't see how any pastry could fit into any balanced diet no mater what your overall goal is. If you lift heavy with proper form, eat right and get plenty of rest, you will make all the gains you want without putting on extra fat. That's what just works for me. Gains come from…

Yeah I don't typically log my training sessions, I also don't eat back my calories. I simply stay in my same caloric deficit even with training. I've gotten amazing results and I'm never hungry. Went from 200lbs mid march down to 153lbs this morning and feel great. Just do what works for you and what you can easily stick…

Been there brother, happy to help and support. Feel free to add me

Hey 32 for a couple more months here!
-
Hey everyone, love all the support!

Yeah, what seska442 said. It's all about daily caloric intake. I've eaten right before bed and not eaten, and got the same exact results just like lots of people. What happens is most people go over there calories for the day with that little snack and it adds up over time.
-
Hey great job the past few weeks keep it up!! I stay pretty close to a keto diet myself and have gotten great results. Keep up the great work! If you keep in mind fat loss the healthy propper way is a marathon not a sprint you'll be just fine.

Always look for like minded people! This is a great app. Keep motivated everyone!
