  • Good afternoon fellow travelers Hope ya'll had a good weekend. I'm so glad our summer temp in back to normal today at 104 high, it was a very hot weekend of 110!! Besides going for walk early on weekend, we just stayed inside & tried to keep cool. We also did some grocery shopping for mainly for staples that we were out of…
  • Want to welcome newbies to this group. Glad you're here. I started calorie counting & losing weight where I was 62 & I don't know why but it wasn't hard for me. I found I gained the most weight during peri menopause & that's when it was hard to lose. hmm... I hadn't thought about the health part before. My husband's been…
  • I think this is the only place I can share this & no, I'm not too jealous lol just can't figure it out. I started counting calories on mfp in 2016 when I was 62 & lost 50lbs in about 17months & have kept it off except for gaining 20 & losing it /maintaining that again. My husband did not count calories but did stop…
  • @AnnPT77 Thank you for mentioning all of that. I couldn't figure out why I got SO tired in the afternoons to the point of wanting to take a nap. I felt I had to have the surgery because retina kept shifting so besides my vision being wavy, which I could have lived with, it would eventually cause me to see a black dot in…
  • Good afternoon everyone & most blessed wedding day Tabatha. Haven't been on here much because I'm going through different phases of my retina surgery healing at least I hope that's what it is & nothing wrong. I couldn't open my operated eye yesterday & my good eye was sympathetic to it so could barley open that because the…
  • @karlschaeffer hope the wedding will be great & the weather will support it. @AnnPT77 that circuit sounds really good. It should be in every city. I'm slowly getting back into working out. Stopped for various physical reasons. In the meanwhile I had birthdays & honestly don't know if I can get back to the level I was at…
  • good afternoon everyone Had a good progress checkup at the eye docs this morning for my retina surgery. I can't do anything strenuous like lift weights etc for 2 more weeks but I do walk & tho I forgot to ask, I have been leisurely spending time in the pool. I don't remember the last time it wasn't already in the triple…
  • It's way too hot to cook like I do during the cooler weather so I use the air fryer & grill a lot more. Meat/poultry tend to be cooked simply that is, not like soup or stews, just plainly grilled or air fried or instant pot. we have some type of salad but not necessarily with lettuce all the time like that really yummy one…
  • good for you on the hike @coblujay . I love being outdoors & just don't feel good if I don't start my day outside. Our neighbor gave us 2 huge white zucchini from his garden yesterday. I love squash & zucchini is my favorite but I've never hear of a white one. Look forward to having some today
  • had my breakfast sandwich I make for lunch, as usual with almond milk & graham crackers & added brussel sprout salad I made. I'm full! I made a yummy lentil stew yesterday so plan to have some for dinner, I like to add some veggie garden cream cheese & salsa to my bowl of lentils. Our neighbor gave us 2 huge white zucchini…
  • @best4menow I'm impressed you walking with your knee & back. Hopefully you'll have a full recovery with your knee. great you have 5 lbs to go. May I ask why do you think you gained back in the past & what are you doing differently now?
  • we love squash & I especially love zucchini. Our neighbor gave us 2 huge white zucchini. I've never heard of it. Haven't tried it yet. Anyone had any before?
  • I'll share too but ya'll might think my food plan is too boring lol I have the same thing for lunch every day 99% of the time(don't eat breakfast) I make a sandwhich with egg beaters, slice of cheese & couple slices of thin ham lunch meat or turkey sausage on a buttered english muffin, unsweetened vanilla almond milk with…
  • @LindieMaeP What a beautiful garden & house! I love walking in my neighborhood, hardly any 2 houses are alike & so pretty. I had 2 part time jobs that I loved, one was for an animal rescue I volunteered at for years & I worked 2 mornings a week(paid) & it was very physical. On March 24, 2020 is when I got a sudden…
  • Thank you @Tabatha_Cain for your great suggestions, I forgot to mention I quit smoking 4yrs ago, so no cravings. I forgot to put a timeline for everything, I've been maintaining for 6 years besides the 20 lbs gain that I lost over a years time. I did walk more on treadmill, home videos, gym without my dogs & am working…
  • same here, I did nothing new except add more calories of the same foods I was already eating. I still weigh & log my food, I'm not good at guesstimating, I could very well gain weight if I don't keep intentionally aware of what I eat. I have learned more ,(I"m always learning) with experimenting, what things keep me…
  • Hello, I've been maintaining my 50lbs weight loss till I quit smoking-gained 10lbs then had a pinched nerve & couldn't exercise for months & gained 10lbs but I lost the 20lbs over a years time & been maintaining for almost a year but want to get to the lower end of my maintenance range> I have been inching to it but the…
  • my first challenge, please assign me a team
  • read & agreed
  • How many 5% challenges did I do? none what do I do for fun? I love to take my dogs out & watch them play at the park Where do I live? central California what are my goals? I stopped exercising for a while, due to covid, a pinched nerve & eye surgery, I want to get back to it but need to go slowly since it's been a while.…

  • I'm so afraid of heights, I could never climb that high! when I was growing up, one of my older brothers used to pretend we're going to go over the cliff while he was driving the family (my parents didn't drive) to different lakes etc & many times there were no railings on the roads & some were elevated so it freaked me…
  • I hope this becomes active again because it's hard to find maintainers groups and isn't the goal of weight loss to maintain? We could all use some support & share no matter what stage we're at. It could also help those who are still in the losing stage some ideas & glimpses of what it's like to maintain.
  • Hello , wow, some of you are going to some great places. The farthest I like to go now a days is about 8 miles to the big people park lol (it has a dog park also) & a very nice Japanese garden which is separate. Our oldest son got married in it some years ago. I traveled so much when I was younger & went to different lakes…
  • set yourself a maintenance range, it can be 5-10 lbs because our weight fluctuates every day. If it's in that range it's all good. example is if your 150lbs, your rate can be 150-157. The weekly one is good too. If you get the Happy Scale app, it does it for you
  • I'm doing well after after effects of fatigue post covid. Finally having more normal energy days than less. I activated my gym membership after a long time. It has a really nice year round pool. I don't know how much I will be able to do post pinched nerve because I've learned once you have one, that part of your body gets…
  • Hi @momzilla11 we're the same age. I haven't been in this group for a long time but have been on mfp for logging, thanks for sharing. I don't meal prep but I rotate the same basic foods & try something new occasionally. I cook for me & husband & toppers for our dogs
  • Hello everyone, It's been more than a year since I've checked in here. Good to see some familiar names. I've been maintaining for a while. Hope everyone is doing well
  • The best & most helpful I've heard is from Heather from Half size me on You Tube & from her podcasts

  • I don't eat breakfast so lunch is my first meal of the day. I have the same thing every day with a little variation: egg beaters (6 Tbl) with a slice of cheese & a protein like either a plant based sausage patty, couple slices of ham, or bacon on a buttered english muffin. It's so good & plenty of protein to last me for…
