I'm Heidi from Washington state, always looking for new positive friends. Been on Keto between 20-30 g carbs per day since July, minis the last 10 days because I was on a mission trip. I keep a supply of the quest cookies n cream, mint Choco chunk, or Oreo cookie bars, to help curb the temptation when things like that come into the office. Net carbs for a quest bar range between 6-10. Depending on the variety you get. Stay strong..lol

My Doc is working with me on the keto diet. I needed to up my fat intake. He recommended 3tbls coconut oil. I have a hard time with the taste, so he has me using MCT oil or powder. 3 tbls a day. It has no taste and can be mixed with drink or food. Of course do your research to see if it will work for you...

But there is still color. If you have not started into Ketosis, if I understand correctly, you would not be expelling ketones. It's my opinion, but I like to know I'm at least on track to were I should be, not having any indication if what I'm doing is right or wrong is worse than having only a light color. I will also say…

The local drug stores sell ketostrips, that can tell you if your body is expelling ketones. If your in Ketosis, the test strip will change color, the more ketones the darker the strip... :)

So I've been on Keto for week over 8 weeks now. Lost a lot the first 3 weeks, had a bad week, then hit a plateau. I'm working with my doc to see what choices I'm making in correctly.
