I don't know about your question but now I want some Roti and curry. Damn. You. All. To. Hell. I can easily overeat roti with a bit of curry Singapore style...

I do that sometimes, I don't think there's anything wrong with it really if it works for you. For me part of this whole journey is learning proper portion size control too though so if I was keeping old habits at one meal a day I'd still lose weight but then during maintenance I'm not sure I'd have the training to avoid…

I usually take a piping hot large bowl of fish soup with me as I navigate the beltway on ramps in rush hour traffic. I find it concentrates my efforts marvelously.

Almond breeze is what I use too, 1 cup of that with 1/2 cup of old fashioned oats and some chocolate protein powder and I have a barely palatable breakfast goo that keeps me loaded until lunch. Whereas with milk I get loaded but the unloading is explosively inappropriate.

This. I am of the opinion that being patient and explaining to your family no matter how many times it annoys you is a good thing in the long run, you are modeling behavior for your children that may not be apparent now but will be immensely helpful to them later in life. Just keep doing what you are doing.

I never log Jack Daniels, that would be a mistake. I log single malts only.

Pre plan your meals, budget for occasional drinks. Get rid of anything in the house that might be trigger foods for you, including alcohol. Allow yourself to indulge sometimes but in moderation, sip that whiskey don't gulp it. Get a single serving of that snack you crave, don't stock up any at home. Get a piggy bank and…

Feel free to add me, my diary is open either way.

Works great for making it easier to peel boiled eggs. Just put a tablespoon in the boil. And amen to pulled pork.

LOL, just so you don't feel bad I'll post mine, no clean eating allowed... http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/bkbirge

I find counting calories helpful and frankly necessary to success. I had a very skewed idea of what a single portion size of many food items was until I started counting. And it is quite easy to slip back into those old viewpoints without the discipline of daily logging. I brush my teeth, comb my hair, etc. daily. I view…

A pound of fat is approx. 3500 calories, just remind yourself of that whenever you see the scale move up. If you ate 3500 above your maintenance level the previous day or 2 then maybe it's real otherwise it's almost always going to be water weight. Just keep at it, sometimes it feels like there is no change at all for a…

Just crossed too, from 235 to 199, then back to 201, lol. But I'll take that as an official entry into onederland, it does feel like an accomplishment.

For me I still look like I was beaten with an ugly stick but now it looks like I was able to fight back while it happened.

Isn't that what MFP logging to goals and weighing does, forces you to have sensible portions?

Gotta try this.

I bought a cheap rotisserie oven on amazon, works great, the chicken turns out perfect every time and I control the spices/salt level. That said, I still occasionally buy the rotisserie chicken at the store because it can actually be cheaper than buying a raw whole chicken! Also.. hash browns, usually make my own but…

Thanks everyone, I'll just mark the last 10lb cycle deficit target as a glitch in the system and go with the current recommended 1500 cal/day, I was losing when I started and it was at 1600 or thereabouts so I'm sure this will be fine. Ate at the 1500 limit yesterday and it felt like I gained a whole meal, lol.

Thanks for the insight all! My measuring and weighing is pretty good, I am consistent about using my kitchen scale though I can't claim 100% 24/7 adherence and of course it never hurts to tighten up discipline, maybe that is the discrepancy. Well, that's the weird thing, when I was playing with the numbers I thought the…

I don't know that there's a 'trick' to drinking it without sweetener, it's my preferred way to have tea - unsweet. There are plenty of herbal teas that don't have sweetener but have a satisfying taste, look at the stash brand. I use their super mint and gold chai a lot. The gold chai has that cinnamon aroma that while not…
