Recently my A1C was slightly elevated (first time ever). This is what prompted me to cut back my carbs. Cardiac problems and diabetes run in my family. This is what makes me worried about the fat intake. I also suffer from HBP which is well controlled with medication. I'd like to lose another 10 lbs (I'm still considered…

I think I am going to track my calories even on my "off" days or maybe do 1 cheat day and one later in the week, one cheat meal and see if that makes a difference.

To lose 30 pounds in 3 years you were creating an average weekly deficit of about 700 calories. That is a very tight window. It would not take much to put you at maintenance or in a surplus. When you added additional exercise it may have upped your hunger levels and your calories on your non-counting days. To do something…

I have this problem too, but for me it starts with the weekend. I can exercise all week. Eat at a deficit with no problem, drink lots of water, and get plenty of rest...until Friday. Then a couple drinks turn into more than I'd care to say and food choices become anything with lots of carbs and cheese. So needless to say…

I once left a date at half time. I told him I was going to smoke. Bad first date for me, worse for him.
-
Sounds like he has hot mess potential. I'd tread lightly with that one.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll stop beating myself up now :)

Mine is not working. Tried everything. Soooo frustrating!

I'm no doctor but it seems like a recipe for disaster to me. Personally, I found that restricting too much eventually made me binge. I'm sure in theory that low calorie goal will help shed the lbs pretty quick but it just doesn't seem practical or sustainable. Just my 2 cents.

I brought something like this up last week.... MFP and the stationary bike both calculate about 270 calories burned for about 25 minutes. My fit bit showed 60. Then the next day, MFP and bike showed 330 for 30 min and fitbit showed about 180. Seems like a pretty big gap. It confuses me because MFP and the bike are almost…

I struggle with eating with in my calories EVERY.DAMN. WEEKEND. The alcohol and good food get me EVERY.TIME.

My calories burned in 25 min on the bike was 60 according to Fitbit. According to MFP and the bike monitor the calories burned were 270. My fitbit was also acting weird later on in the night and wouldnt sync so I've got a new one I'm going to try today.

My bosses are a husband and wife that are elderly. He is 81 and has had multiple strokes and she has terminal lung cancer. Leaving here is inevitable, but I am loyal to them and promised myself I'd see this through to the end for them.

Are you overdoing it with the chick peas, oats, and lentils? That could be some of the source of your bloating. I know whenever I eat red or white bean I get bloated for sure.

I just had quite the disappointing wrap myself. Tortilla Low Sodium Ham Cheddar Cheese Cream Buffalo Spread It was gross! Never again.
-
I lost 60 lbs after having my daughter back in 2003 on weight watchers and it was no where near as restrictive as it is now. It is a completely different set of rules. Not sustainable if you ask me.

I bit the bullet and got on the damn bike and finished the workout. I also ate back all of my exercise calories, something I never do, but I was just so hungry yesterday. Maybe I just had an off day, maybe it had something to do with hormones, ask my mother and she'll say it has something to do with high blood sugar. At…

Looks like you are losing inches. Are you exercising?

I alternate between leftovers, sandwiches, and lean cuisines.

My cousin was hard on the Herbalife train about 2 years ago. She even had her small children (who were not overweight) drinking the stuff. She lost almost 100 lbs the first year. She has since gained more than half of it back. It's not practical for long term.
-
I alternate between Lean Cuisines, turkey sandwich, and leftovers. Whatever I have I almost always have a sugar free low fat yogurt with it as my something sweet.

I guess this what I was getting at. I mean it just really surprises me that 975 calories would be that many points. I get that there are 0 point foods and all but it seems a bit ridiculous and something that is not easy to maintain. A 90 calorie Fiber One bar is 5 points!

I just eat. Dinner is usually no later than 7pm and I won't eat again until about 12pm the next day.

That our dog was sent to obedience school.

Just remember it is a process and consistency is key. Something I still struggle with after a year and a half. Don't beat yourself up when you make poor choices. Get up, dust yourself off, and keep going. Good luck!

I agree with the whole "if he likes you, you will know" theory and here is why... When I was dating a few years ago I met this guy online. I thought he was cute and was really excited about him. We messaged, we exchanged numbers, and eventually went out on a date. The date was kinda of "meh". I didn't like him anymore.…

Criticizing people in order to help them change is not an effort to "show concern", its mean. Don't make excuses for your mother's poor and disrespectful behavior toward your wife. You need to put her in check, then do everything you can to make it up to your wife for not throwing your mother out the house sooner.

I'm in a similar situation. I lost 15 lbs last year and was able to maintain until right after the New Year. We started looking for a house (which was more stressful than fun) and found one by end of January. By that time I had gained about 5 lbs. Que 6 weeks of going through the lender process to get the loan approved. I…

If it's just a matter of being uncomfortable, then try drinking a bottle of water- it makes me feel full. You may just have to tough it out until you get used to eating less.
