I'm chiming in here because I am experiencing a similar issue. I've been trying to figure it out but so far it has me scratching my head in utter confusion. I log exercise in Map My Walk primarily, due to my main exercise being walking/hiking/running. I wear a garmin Vivofit to log steps, and wear that during the entirety…

Well, that was interesting! Thanks to you all for being part of this because knowing there was a group of accountability buddies here, sharing and working in the same project, was really helpful to stay focused on the goal. That said, did not meet my goal, but this is the first time I've ever set a weight loss goal, ever.…

I have been tracking for 12 weeks on MFP, loss set at 1 lb per week, and have currently lost 15 lbs, bringing me to a 1.25 lb loss per week on average. I eat back all my calories from workouts. Not only do I love to eat, but I am often quite hungry if I workout or not. Getting extra calories to add to my total is a…

Long, very stressful week, still not quite recovered. Think some of this weeks loss is water from dehydration. Also changed my goals to 1.5 lb per week about 2 weeks ago so, could be that as well. Not seeing results anywhere but the scale, so looking forward to NSV of any sort. If my clothes fit better soon, I'd feel much…

I'm feeling good. Loss is steady and maintaining, no big water weight bounces. Upped my activity level significantly and am really loving how it feels. Two weeks to go! Won't reach my weight loss goal by the end of the month but I've been pleased with my fitness progress, and feel much stronger! Keep working everyone!…

I eat high carb, moderate protein, ultra low fat now after years of lchf eating, and find I have way way more energy than I did eating on a keto style diet. I'm definitely not starving ever, although when I get hungry (and it happens much more quickly), I need to eat right away. It's worth a try. On 50f/45p/5c I had…

Ok, so water weight is a real and significant thing. Due to busy holiday week, I wasn't able to work out as much, ate what looked good in moderation, and didn't log for 2 days (whoops :# ) and the result is bizzare but pleasant. 12 lb loss for the week. I'm confused. Buckling back down starting today/tomorrow with diet and…

5'10" here with a very large frame. My current weight is 167, my goal is around 150, but I'm not sure how that is gonna go. I've been focusing on lifting and building muscle, and my weight is going up despite my calorie deficit. But! My muscles are getting bigger! :) Despite being 17-25 lbs over what many sources say I…

Fat free Fig Newmans are sort of a problem. I buy the package, and it is *somehow* empty within 3 days.

Oi! Water weight has reached maddening levels! I am clearly cutting fat (much trimmer- lost 2 inches in waist), but with my heavy workouts and muscle building focus, the scale numbers are pretty haywire. Good reminder that weight is just a number. I did 100k steps last week. Hopefully it will begin to drop at some point!…

I weigh my veggies because as others have said, they may be light in calories, but it adds up and accuracy is important to me. One thing that helps me make accounting for my veggies easier is to make an individual salad bowl using my food scale. I tare the bowl, have pen and paper at the ready, and add ingredients,…

I typically eat between 7-13 grams of fat per day due to a medical restriction, loads of carbs (350 g), and a hearty amount of protein (160g) I am losing weight, just as I did when I followed a HFLC diet (60fats/35protein/5carb) Why? Because I am restricting calories and eating at a light to moderate deficit. To OP: Not…

I'm recovering from a bad back injury, really pushed myself this week, and I don't think it was the best plan as I was super sore, stiff, and struggled with moving for the last 4 days. On the positive side, I made lots of gains with my knitting projects  hahah! Definitely ate more calories overall this week, though…

I've been working on building strength and I am feeling feeling slimmer, despite only 1.4 lb loss. Should get a measuring tape and use it. I too eat high carb and protein with very low fat. My favorite foods that hit that ratio- My go to, super easy daytime meal. Fat free cottage cheese or cream cheese. Nice on a piece of toast. For breakfast I've gotten into eating oats with kaniwa (some lil red grain/seed- high in iron, and fluffs up to large amount) some…

Yea! Tall women! So pleased to have found you all. I'm 5'10, 172lb currently, large frame. I'm not really sure what to have as a GW since I am quite muscled from college sport weightlifting days. My highest weight was 245, so I've come a long way! Mfp has my daily caloric intake set at 1690 for 1 lb a week loss Does this…

Hooray! So pleased to connect with you as well! I hear you on the planks and push ups. I'm weaker than I used to be by far. Can only hold the plank for about a minute, and push-ups... unless I'm on my knees, can only do like 3-4. (Groan) ;) What is your daily routine like? I set myself at lightly active, which seems right…

I don't know how successful I've been yet. Just 10 days into mfp, but I'm tall (5'10) and have about 25 lbs to lose. Not going to the gym, and although I was an athlete back in the day, I have some significant exercise restrictions due to a back injury. I have been just 'doing more movement.' 5 squats whenever I remember,…

Thanks for all the replies, folks! In response to the above concerns that 5% fat seems way to low or even dangerous, I hear you! As a long term kerogen is diet follower, I had NO idea how anyone could survive without much fat in their diet. Ha! Yet, I'm now on month 5 of eating less than 10-15 gm of fat per day, and what…

Food restrictions can be challenging and I hear Crohns can be rough. Do you find eating lean meat only keeps your symptoms at bay or do you get flare ups from any meat? Thanks for responding to my post!
