I was feeling much better on Saturday so went for a game of golf, despite loading up with painkillers it wasn't a pleasant experience and now I feel like I'm back at square one :s . Back to the docs this morning and then to hospital for a chest x-ray :'(

Currently trying to recover from this, finished antibiotics 5days ago but still in pain, albeit far less and appears to be getting progressively better each day. Tried to find info on recovery times through internet searches but pretty vague responses. Not lifted for 3weeks now and I'm climbing the walls :D , sounds like I…

If you are trying to build muscle then I would say your protein is a bit high. High protein macro split is generally recommended when cutting. The recommended protein intake is typically 0.8 to 1g/lb, so at 65kg (143lb) then the high end of protein would be 143g (572cal), fat at around 0.4g/lb so 57g (513cal) and the rest…

Hey fellow Scot! As others have said, probably not eating enough, counting calories is just as important when you are trying to gain as when trying to loose (potentially more so if you are trying to clean bulk there is a pretty small margin for 'error'). Some stats would be useful, age, height, weight, goals, current…

In terms of a good program, check this link:- https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10332083/which-lifting-program-is-the-best-for-you/p1 Be careful about 'customizing' programs as they will generally become sub-optimal if you deviate too far from the plan. Can't really comment on apps as I don't use one myself,…

Sounds a little on the high side TBH. I use an activity monitor with HR function (Garmin) and I would typically burn about 200cals in an hour. I'm not running 5x5 but still strength training (PHUL). There is a MFP 'weight training' entry under exercise, based on your own weight and exercise time, I put in my own details…

Probably need to stick with it for a few weeks and then re-assess, too early to tell. Use other indicators (measurements, %BF if possible), to help you come to a conclusion. If you are accurately logging your intake and you are still genuinely losing then increase cals by ~250 and see how it goes...

WOW, looking fantastic, what an incredible job..... B)

Hi..... B)

Speaking from experience, it looks like you are still have the 'diet food' (cutting) mentality when it comes to food choices - I did exactly the same when I switched to a bulk. I had a quick look at your diary and very small changes will get you those extra calories no problem, just pick the 'normal' options (including…

Daily, same time everyday (just after I wake up) and trend in spreadsheet / Libra. Accept that your weight will fluctuate on a daily basis, more important to look at the trend over multiple weeks and adjust as necessary. Patience and consistency are your friend..... :D

I bought these and they give a 'reasonable' prediction of %BF (I would say about 3-5% [absolute] lower than reality), but with all BIA scales it's best to use them as a long term trend. I weight myself every morning and trend in a spreadsheet / Libra app.... :)…

I am assuming you are talking 1600 net?, if your logging is accurate then the other possibility is that you are over-estimating your exercise calories?

Welcome to MFP!! There is no shortage of great information on here and plenty of people that are genuinely willing to give constructive help and advise. :) :)
-
Stunning transformation!, huge congratulations on everything you have achieved so far

I guessed that maybe the case, really hope you can find the happy balance and are able to gain at a pace that you are able to mentally and physically cope with. Plenty of folks here for support and guidance.... :-)

I appreciate that it maybe extremely difficult advice, particularly for someone recovering from an ED, but try and focus on things other than the number on the scale - eg. measurements and appearance. Are you able to set goals that are not defined by a number?
-
Feel free to add me, always great to get support and motivation!!

OP, if you are able to provide as much info as possible on where you are today and where you would like to get to in 7months time then I'm sure the good folks on here can give you lots of great input and advice. Personal stats in terms of height, weight, %fat, current diet (macro breakdown, calorie goals), lifting program,…
