I am a short person- Im 5'1. And I don't eat 1000 calories a day, I ensure my calculator has 1000 left on it left to eat. I maintain weight at 1450/1500. so I cut back 450/500 to loose and I leave my exercised calories on there too which gives me the 1000. I don't eat my workout calories back.

ive calculated my maintenance weight and then in order to loose 2lb (1KG) a week I need to have 1000 calories less than that as 500cal less per day = 1lb a week loss. So I have my maintenance calories and all the calories from working out added onto that and then provided I always have a surplus of 1000 calories at the end…

tracking calories and keeping a food diary like MFP helps you to do is a great way. sometimes you don't realise how much you eat each day, or how many hidden calories there are in things (ie Ketchup) until you see it written down. However I like you fell of the wagon many times and im doing a lot more successfully now…

id agree with one of the comments previously made that the meals referred to in the OP is Toddler/kids meals not baby food. Baby food is for really young babys that are just learning to manage solids. These meals tend to be actual food (albeit somewhat processed) just very small portions. I notice the OP was back in 2011…

HI All, im Kirsty. So far ive been on a diet 18months approx. I say diet loosely as it was more a healthy lifestyle change. first 6-8 months I did well and lost approx. 20Kg but in the last year ive not been as strict and managed to maintain my weight. I think that's quite a good thing as I feel ive settled into myself and…

MFP is very bad for overestimating exercise. It is advisable to thus only eat back 25-50% of your exercise calories. So you tread on side of caution. Most food comes with an excellent guide on food calories (and i dont necessarily mean pre packaged - a box of eggs tells you how many calories per egg on the box etc) so make…

HI :) 3500 is about 1000 more calories than the average sized man requires to sustain their weight so by eating 3500 you are likely to gain in many instances. Note i say average sized - perhaps at your original starting point 3500 was a suitable consumption for weight loss but as you've worked out and lost weight that…

i've not had soda for 8 days. Every day I manage without a carbonated drink I put £1 away so that at then end of each month I can treat myself to new gym kit or a nice meal out. Healthy obviously. So well done. PPL ask if ive had the shakes but I haven't. Have you experienced that??
