  • I don't take every 3rd day off that was more my suggestion of a good way to go about it if you are lifting and doing insanity. I follow the original Insanity plan but sometimes move the rest day around depending on my schedule and often lift instead of the recovery day on Thursdays. I work in my 4 lifting days throughout…
  • In terms of non whey protein powders I like pumpkinseed protein best because it has almost no flavour so you can put it in smoothies, on steamed veggies, pretty much anything. Pea protein, hemp protein (plain tastes like hemp seed oil so pretty good on veggies) or soy protein are the other main options.
  • Doing both weights and insanity is a good combo. Either alternate days or do 2 days of weights then insanity as your cardio day or double them up and take a a full day off every 3 days or so. I've been doubling them up and my body is sore and tired a lot but I've had amazing results.
  • I don't like coffee either. I've been taking Trans4orm from bodybuilding.com and honestly I love it. They say not to take it for more than 2 months at a time though. It's mostly green tea, coffee bean, vitamin d and b12 and some other stuff I can't remember the names of. It suppresses my appetite and makes me super…
  • Welcome to add me:) I'm also at 1300 but exercise a lot so I eat back up to 1/2 my exercise calories if I'm hungry.
  • I absolutely love insanity! it is my go to workout when I want to get back in good shape. It will definitely help you decrease bodyfat and get much stronger and have better endurance. I'm actually just finishing up a round of Insanity :D this is the end of my 3rd week of the 2nd month Max workouts, only one more week but…
  • My boyfriend was in the change room in the late afternoon and a guy arrived, pulled a 26er bottle of vodka out of his back pack, poured it into his shaker cup, and took his shaker for his workout.
  • I think booking a challenge like that is a super good way to motivate yourself and shift your focus to something positive that was my reason for doing it in the fall too. Believe me 20km sounded super far to me too! I found every time I ran a new longest distance (whether that was 10km or 11km or 13km or 15km) it always…
  • Hey Em:) This is an awesome goal!! Before August 10km was the most Id ever done either. Last August/September I used the runkeeper app to work up from 8km-20km. They have lots of great training programs where you can choose your distance goal and time line for when you want to race and your race time (how long you want the…
  • Today I got invited to hangout and do gymnastics with some of the personal trainers from my gym! A few of the personal trainers at my gym know me now and one of them showed me a video of his press to handstand balancing on dumb bells (wow very cool!) and when I told him I used to do gymnastics he said "wow the explains a…

  • Try Insanity or another strength HIIT training like Max 30. You need to decrease your body fat over all so if you combine this with a calorie deficit you will decrease your body fat% and really strengthen and tone your legs at the same time.
  • Insanity or Max 30! I love Insanity, fun, super challenging and easy to do in your living room with some good music blasting :)
  • Of course diet helps build muscle (mostly protein) but as long as you aren't over or under eating calorie wise you will gain muscle and look stronger. And it actually sounds like your diet is pretty good! Remember exercise never hurts. you can always do something to increase your results but bottom line is if you exercise…
  • You should try a body weight video workout program. Most of them are streamable online for free so there is 0 cost and you can definitely get ripped doing them. Look up Insanity, Insanity Max 30 or even P90X (you need some minor equipment like an exercise band for this but you could get it cheap). You can find the workout…
  • Feel free to add me if you have any questions, would like support or workout ideas! ;) I've done my research and tried different approaches so I know what works.
  • Awesome work! Healthy and muscular :D
  • What exercise are you doing? I have never had more than 15lbs to lose (the very highest) and usually more around 5-10lbs so I believe the key is to do HIIT cardio and strength training. I do Insanity because it is HIIT cardio and strength combined and I have gotten amazing results from it. It burns off that last stubborn…
  • I have an hourglass shape and only ever had about 15 lbs to lose from an out of shape 136 back down to 120. My waist always stays small so if I gain weight it ALL goes on my butt. I strongly believe the key is to do strength HIIT workouts like Insanity, P90X or strength training combined with cardio while in a calorie…
  • I did it a couple years ago and am currently in the 2nd week of the 2nd month. I had amazing results the first time and this time. I lost close to 10 lbs the first time but you have to be patient. I barely lost anything the first month and then mid way through the 2nd month my body fat dropped like crazy! Make sure you are…
  • I double them up.. I do my insanity workout then go lift at the gym after or if I want to push harder at the gym I go there first. I'm finding that a bit harder now I'm doing the Max workouts ahha. My advice is take a calendar and write it down. Alternate days, for example one day gym one day insanity and just spread out…
  • Insanity Max Plyo- 1st day of 2nd week of Max workouts. Anyone else doing insanity please add me!
  • I do Insanity because I can do it at home, it's only 35-45 minutes so I can easily fit it into my schedule and the results are amazing! I have never become leaner faster than doing Insanity, it burns off body fat super quickly and replaces it with lean muscle. and you can stream it for free online :)
  • I write mine down on a wall calendar and cross of the days as I go so I have a visual reminder of my progress and I don't want to look at the calendar and see any blank days. I also like following a workout plan made by someone else (currently doing Insanity) so it feels official and I have a coach pushing me every day.
  • I'm currently doing Insanity and just starting my second month of Max workouts. Feel free to add me! I want more Insanity friends :)
  • So glad I got you on the insane train and that you are loving it!! I also swear by this workout!! I've done it on and off over the past few years but this is only my second time completing a full round (60 days) and I am getting amazing amazing results. So much stronger, more confident and leaner I CAN NOT WAIT to buy my a…
  • Feel free to add me too! I log my food, exercise every day and try to be as supportive as possible:)
  • If you don't make your own salad dressings I highly highly recommend it, it will completely change your relationship with salad for the better! Here are a few of my own recipes. I suggest using about 1/2- 1 tbs of them and then adding extra balsamic vinegar if you need more flavour. Sesame maple dressing (my favourite with…
  • Making your own dressing is the key to healthy salads. Try making your own ceasar dressing using yogurt instead of mayonnaise it will cut down on A LOT of calories and probably be way tastier! This is the first one I found but it looks good :) http://www.wellplated.com/homemade-caesar-dressing/
