I have always pre logged for this reason. It also makes you think twice about whether the calories are worth the satisfaction of eating the food. It is a great tool for me to prevent overeating.

It doesn't matter where the calories come from, even if they are fruit and vegetables, your body still counts them. This is why so many have turned away from WW and this crazy 0 point system and using apps like MFP instead. They were no longer having success with WW because, as you have discovered, some free foods can…

As your Fitbit is synced with MFP, MFP is taking your chosen activity level into consideration when it adjusts your calories. This adjustment is all about how many calories you have burned so far that day according to your Fitbit to how many you would have burned with the chosen activity level.

Calories are a HUGE deal. If not people would not lose, gain and maintain on keto. You would simply continue to lose weight instead!

I am another that ate back my exercise calories. Many start only eating back 50-75% at first but this is mainly to compensate logging inaccuracies. It is not uncommon to overestimate calorie burn and underestimate calories in. If your deficit is too large you are more likely to give up because it becomes too hard to…

How many steps are you getting on days you don't go to the gym? That is the best gauge for your correct activity level.

As someone who is vertically challenged like me, you really have very little room for error when you get to those last pounds. I know it may be quite confronting to do but making your diary public could help us work out some common logging errors. We know as we have been there, done them and learned from our mistakes. It…

Sorry guys .... I wouldn't really avoid you all!!!

Do whatever works for you. I personally have my day from when I wake in the morning to when I go to sleep at night. If that schedule were 10 am to 2 am then I would have that as my day. KISS (keep it simple stupid) is my motto really.

Other than trying to increase your protein I think it is a matter of seeing out those 5 weeks between weigh-ins to know the results. If you are losing faster than 1/2 kg a week average then up your calories slightly, if less lower them slightly. If you become stuck along the way then start by properly monitoring what you…

If you don't want Fitbit I am another that would recommend a Garmin which best suits your needs.

However, store-bought may have water added which adds weight but not calories. It wouldn't make a huge difference however as the leaner meat should cancel this out.

If what you are doing works for you and you are losing weight at a healthy rate then you are doing it correctly - FOR YOU! If this is the case then keep going as you are because you should be proud of your efforts. If, for whatever reason, they stop working then reassess.

The reality is that you do in fact eat back your exercise calories assuming your goal was around 1 pound a week loss, otherwise your loss would be more rapid. That or you don't exercise much. It sounds to me like those exercise calories counterbalance inaccurate logging.

My feet got 1/2 size smaller after a 70ish pound loss and my wedding rings no longer fit on my fingers so I wear them as a necklace instead.

You said that TDEE maintenance is 2296. I am assuming that this is without any exercise and based at a sedentary level which you are far from. This number is ore likely to be your NEAT which is how much you burn before exercise is added. You have two options. Change your activity level to very active or stay at 1750 and…

My best has been 76,759 steps which was around 50 kms. I spent the entire day walking but can't see myself doing that again.

How about you make your diary public while waiting for a doctors appointment? Others may be able to spot common logging errors. People are convinced their logging is on point here all the time when it actually isn't. I am still well aware of how bad I was when I started doing this, thinking I too was being really accurate.

I'm 4'9 and now maintaining under 100 pounds. If I were only eating 900 calories a day I'd be losing 1 pound a week, assuming I did no intentional walking. You either have a metabolism which is REALLY up the creek (which is very unlikely but worth checking out for reassurance)) or your logging is inaccurate and you are…

That would be because you are inaccurately logging your food and eating much more than you think you are.

Start weighing all prepackaged food and you will be in for a surprise. As an example, I had a protein bar yesterday and the serving size on the package was 30 grams. When weighed it was 37 grams instead. Those extra few grams here and there can add up to a significant number of calories by the end of the day. It is very…

I found that to be common during weight loss, as have many others in this community. What happens is that fluid retention can mask fat loss which isn't known until that extra fluid is removed from the body. Some common things which cause this fluid retention are: A number of factors can cause water retention, including:…

Anything over 15,000 steps is considered very active so that being the case I'd recommend you put yourself at that level and then add those evening walks as additional exercise. Maybe only eat half the allotted calories from those walks, at least to begin with, and adjust the amount you eat back after a month or so,…
