I did up my count a little bit over the weekend. It's better than not, so onward and upward! I'm going to have to 'step' it up to make my goal

I'm in mainly to try and get my step count up on the weekends (as you will see on my first weekend this month) I'll make my goal 250000 steps since I had 212000 steps for August. Considering my start this month, 250000 should be quite a stretch goal, but I will try. Date Steps Notes 1 3480 2 4246 3 1868 4 6392…

No one knows what is behind Chuck Norris because even nothing cannot get behind him.

Congrats! It's a great thing to get to that point! :)

Started with fitbit and all was good except the bands kept going bad and I would inevitably crack the display. Now I have a Garmin Fenix and I love it, I'm very hard on watches but this one must be indestructible - my fitbits would get scratches and cracks but this thing I haven't been able to even mar. This model is…

Yes, if you are in deficit. I have been primarily been relying on martial arts strength exercises (all body weight exercises) for awhile and it has toned me up pretty well in comparison to before I started. I'm not there on the 6 pack abs (it's not a big deal to me), but I believe it too can be done with enough…

Can do that... until I close my eyes. My mind caused me to lose balance every time. I slowed my breathing and took a more meditative approach - then I could stand on one leg without losing balance. Can't do the hop and balance with eyes closed yet, but I'll work on that. Thanks for the new (to me) balance exercise. It'll…

Finally got a run in yesterday and it went pretty good even if on a treadmill. Feeling pretty good today too, so going 12 days without a run didn't hurt me much. Except for progress on my miniscule goal for May. There is still time to get there I just have to actually do the running... I love following this thread! I…

I wouldn't pay much attention to that either - my Garmin tells me I'm 20 in fitness years - that can't be right, I'm gonna be 60 this fall. lol

I was supposed to run Monday, but I did something to my left knee during Saturday's Karate sessions. I don't know what it was I did, but it was pretty sore and weak by Saturday evening and Sunday. Monday it still didn't feel well enough to try to run on. The knee feels good now and provided I don't do something to it again…

@Elise4270 I'm studying Shorei Goju Ryu which is originally an Okinawan blend of karate that mixes the Japanese "hard" forms (explosive, powerful) and Chinese "soft" karate forms (flowing, graceful). I really enjoy it and it is very often a fairly strenuous cardio workout.

I think this would make a great shirt and I want one  I like the picture. Taking up martial arts at 56 and running at 58 I think I must have some of that haha. I'm definitely not getting there quickly, but I AM getting there regardless of my 'normal' life interuptions. Wow, the first day of the month and I actually…

Hey, that's me - I'm in for 20 miles

It's a good idea not to run back to back days at the beginning - your body needs rest time in between runs to rebuild. I wouldn't recommend running consecutive days until you complete the program - it'll help prevent injury. Every other day works fine.

Round numbers on cash take precedence! At least for me and yes, I would go for it 'cause gas pumps are made for OCD workouts  I still don't believe I'll make my goal this month, but I didn't think I would get over halfway two weeks ago. Whatever keeps me moving is good.

Not getting the miles fast, but getting them nonetheless.

Still here and running, but not as much as I want. It's difficult to make the time sometimes and when I have the time it's also hard to get myself started, but I haven't given up. I read in here yesterday someone (I'm sorry I don't remember who) said running is just as hard a habit to start as it is to give up. I agree…

I have this problem often when it is a karate lesson day (and running too). So, I try to think like this: "90% of the job is getting to the lesson (or starting the run), once you've done that, the rest is easy and fun." And I almost always find it to be true. So when you feel that way, kick yourself over or past the…
