  • Loved your comment about getting outside. I live in a very walkable neighborhood and just being in the yard with folks saying good morning makes me feel more connected.
  • Going well. As per usual yard work got me away from the gym but weight loss has been maintained. At least the yard looks good! Spent a lot of time and effort replacing the plants I lost over the winter and added some new ones as well. Now obsessed with the lawn. Also have some side work and needed to put some time in on my…
  • Weight loss stagnated in Mar-Apr but remembering that this is the time of year I fall off the exercise wagon, I’m recommitting to exercise and I even started logging food again. It’s amazing how you can think you aren’t eating that much and then when you see the daily calories you are floored. My trip to Greece was…
  • Sorry to hear about loss of Peter. It’s tough to lose the animals we love so much.
  • Yippee on husband’s cancer news!!!
  • Sorry to hear about husband’s cancer but sounds like it’s a good outcome and your attitude seems very positive. It’s got too be tough for you as well as him. Sending you both well wishes.
  • Peloton does not bother knees. Left a word out. Apologize for misspelling Mortician.
  • I agree with the weight lifting being a pain to log. I use a Polar chest band and their Beats App to track heart rate and kcals burned. I haven’t figured out how to “fool” the system so I haven’t been tracking my training on MFP. Truth be told I am mostly using MFP app to check in with y’all and make myself more…
  • Love the description of the antipasto skewers. Sounds delicious. Glad things are going well and I can’t believe how much time you dedicate to wellness. That certainly explains the great BMI. You are an inspiration for me.
  • I agree with your comment on calorie counting. Not a fan, but it does work. Your fitness goals look great. I Still haven’t managed to get on the elliptical but the Peloton bike is kicking my butt these days. Keep on keeping on. Also sorry about the Covid and glad you are recovering.
  • Thanks for all the encouragement. I needed it.
  • I grew up in Buffalo NY so learned to ski at a very young age. Even so I must admit that my confidence was lacking the first day out. For me skiing is a reminder of family trips with parents, siblings and nieces and nephews. My mother zoomed down the slopes into her 70’s. Trip was with my younger sister so lots of time to…
  • Been looking at my old records and apparently I am a good exerciser in Feb and Mar and then I fall off the wagon. Noticed that two things in particular get me off track. One is yard work and the other is travel. Soooooo knowing this when I got back from a short ski trip last week I hit the gym the very next day. Currently…
  • 500 lbs! That sounds great. It’s funny what taxes us and what doesn’t. I find 2-3 hours in the yard easy and 45 minutes of decluttering exhausting.
  • I don’t have a new gym challenge yet but I am on day six of an exercise streak. Rotating free weights, peloton bike and swimming. Still haven’t managed to get on an elliptical machine.
  • Thank you. Been gone to long.
  • In your decluttering have you found good places to take things? I like that you mentioned drawers. It’s amazing how much junk is in them; Old racing metals, watches, jewelry I would never wear, eyeglasses. I had my carpenter come and build me shelves in attic for Christmas decorations. That at least organized it.
  • After a long absence I am back … and as expected, when one loses site of goals and accountability, I have gained weight. But each day is a new day and am starting again. Dry January was a bust so going for dry February. I am headed for Greece in April and need to be able to hike and climb some very hilly terrain so gym…
  • Progress!! Sounds like the decluttering is continuing.
  • Maggie, I don’t know how you Colorado folks dress for weather. I was in Gunnison and needed My fleece in the early morning and was roasting in the sun by 10 am. Later the wind came up which added another wrinkle to my wardrobe 😆 But those Mountain View’s, truly a beautiful state. We drove back to Denver via Breckinridge…
  • Two days in the yard and it was a lot! Needed to prune the big trees and lift the canopy. Still have more to do but got a major part of it is done. Waiting to see if city will pick up all the yard waste. Good news is that with all the yard work I just hit a new weight loss low. I was stagnant for a long time. I don’t mind…
  • So funny that we are gardeners as well as MFP comrades. I finished with all the annuals today; coleus, impatiens, begonias and vincas. I leave tomorrow for a week so hopefully when I return things will have settled in. I have tons of hostas and will divide them when I get back. Yard work just makes me happy.
  • It’s really hot here today so if feels odd to be hearing about snow. Headed to Boston next week for a whale watch and then out to Gunnison for a WCU graduation. Can’t imagine what to wear for a 10 am outdoor graduation on May 7th. Not planning on packing any shorts.
  • Thanks Becca!
  • Spent all day in yard yesterday and will be back out there this morning. I plant annuals; vincas and impatiens mostly. Also transplanted some plants. With trees getting larger I have less sun. I have hostas in multiple places. Most of the trees have leaves although the two tall maples really take their time. I have a…
  • How goes the decluttering? Apparently I am doing the opposite. It’s a sunny but cold and windy day here so my first goal will be to straighten up my office. Hope you are doing well.
  • Really admiring your energy levels. The last three weeks I have drifted away from any weight and fitness planning or even mindfulness. Not that I have been a couch potato (yard work and house cleaning) but a terrible stress induced eating plan. So I challenge myself to at least one elliptical ride workout this week. Thanks…
  • Becca, hope you are feeling better. I have been away too long. How goes your tracking?
  • Can’t believe I haven’t posted in a long time. I really like this group and don’t want it to disappear from lack of participation. As you can probably imagine I haven’t posted because I am not doing the things I need to do. I have been stressed and busy but not putting that out as an excuse. I have a ton of consulting work…
