  • north Texas! add me if you'd like!
  • Calories in/calories out is old science because it is so difficult to maintain. New science is proving that weight control is about controlling the insulin in your body....that is why the keto diet works. Go to www.dietdoctor.com for info, recipes, etc.
  • www.dietdoctor.com............ i've lost 48 since august and i've seen that many long endurance athletes eat this way for a long sustained energy source (see Dr. Jeff Volek on youtube .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Id47XOjtcM4)
  • The main thing is to find your carb comfort zone where you still lose weight according to Dr. Stephen Finney. He says that could be 50g daily for some and 20 for others. He also recommended eating full fat greek yougurt.
  • Howdy everyone I'm Bob from north Texas! Mind if I join you? I've been keto since August and have lost 48 lbs, bu the last 8 weeks have been a slow go! I'm looking forward to stay challenged with Y'all and break through this plateau.
  • Haven't really figured out this plateau! Starting weight - 365 January starting weight - 319 January goal - 313 Ultimate goal - 200 Jan 2nd - 319 Jan 9th - 320 ...tough week :( Jan 16th - 318 Jan 23st - 318 Jan 30th - Total loss for January -
  • Have lost 48 with 100 to go. You can friend me if you like. :)
  • Howdy...from north of Dallas!
  • Think of yourself as a sculpture.....it took Michaelangelo 3 years to carve out "David" to its perfect form. Can't you give yourself an equal amount of time to sculpt yourself to your goal? Aren't you worth it? I think so!
  • That's why I do keto....never really hungry.
  • Forget about age....you should check out my friend: Rick_1953 He doesn't have the body of a grandpa and did it in less than 5 years.

  • There are no sugars in keto so don't know what you mean. If you meant fats, then avocado, olives, and nuts are my go to snack. (there are some carbs in nuts though) Certainly don't eat if you're not hungry and you've had at least 1500 calories for the day.

  • been keto since August....lost 46 lbs, lowered blood sugar and cholesterol. I have even started IF for the health benefits of autophagy. see www.dietdoctor.com
  • some of the artificial sweeteners can throw people out of ketosis so they don't recommend them. I've had a very occasion coke zero and it didn't bother me, but many would call me a low carber instead of a ketonian. To each his own.
  • keto is not for everyone. I chose to use it to beat T2 diabetes (which I have done), lower cholesterol, and lose significant weight. As far as trying to make it sustainable, many have said that cravings are driven by a lack of electrolytes such as sodium, magnesium, and even potassium to a smaller degree. Also, when closer…
  • BEAUTIFUL....congrats!
  • Love it! BUT, I am willing to sacrifice many foods that I like or are triggers so that I can achieve my goals. I have lost 46 lbs since August, have gotten off T2 diabetic meds, lowered my LDL and triglycerides, and feel much better! I have also been Intermittent Fasting for those health benefits as well. For more info…

  • I'm not "addicted" to carbs. I feel much better when I eat a diet of @ 50-60% carbs. My bloodwork is excellent and I'm a healthy weight. Most traditional cultures have moderate carb diets. Check out the Blue Zones - unusually high rates of healthy centenarians and they eat moderate to high carb plant based diets. I…
  • For more insight as to why low carb (keto) works, read :The Obesity Code" by Dr. Jason Fung. He proposes that weight loss is hormonal and not tied up in the science of thermodynamics (CICO -calories in/calories out). Certainly there are those so addicted to carbs that keto could never work for them, so I get why they may…
  • www.dietdoctor.com lots of misinformation out there from novices..... keto helped me get off of T2 meds and control my blood sugar as well as cholesterol and triglycerides. I have lost 46 lbs since August and because the high fat curbs hunger, I now intermittent fast daily by skipping breakfast. (There are many health…

  • Welcome! I've been keto since August 3rd and have lost 46 lbs. Trying to get my workout regimen in order, but I want to shoot for 4-6 workouts a week. I'm not sure I can make it happen all the time with work, but am going to find a way!
