  • @motivatedsister like mshort said, order a few months out that fits THAT body. I almost hosed myself for my wedding. I got my dress a size smaller, then, after losing weight, had alterations take it a little more than it needed to go (I had to ship my dress to the wedding location 3 weeks ahead of the wedding) since I…
  • I gave it another try today (had bought the 4 serving tub of it and pre-mixed all 4 servings on day one with the whey and dark chocolate), after all the flavors had a chance to meld with each other, it's not too shabby. Definitely something I can keep eating. Now I just have to remember to pre-mix everything a day or two…
  • Unfortunately, outdoor rowing isn't an option for me as the Rio Grande is the largest body of water to me for miles, but I think I can a rowing machine. My knees only flare up on me when it's impact...I can do squats for days without them bothering me.
  • These are two things I think I might enjoy. I've done them before but never stuck with them long enough to know if they were another workout I could love. Thank you!
  • 100% mental for me. Every meal and snack is a battle wit myself over yummy healthy or unhealthy binging. Food is so much comfort for me. In the last month I've started making conscious decisions to eat right and have lost 6 pounds, now I'm struggling to get moving too. I used to have running which was a mental break for…
  • My personal story: I was a very active youth, played softball and volleyball until I was 25, and joined the military at 19. My first medical restriction for knee problems was put on me when I was 22. Once the restrictions were lifted I pushed thru, played sports, and ran until I was about 33 when I was finally given an MRI…
  • Tart is definitely a better description, it's plain Oikyos. I added 1/2 serving of chocolate whey powder, 1 tbsp of dark chocolate shavings, and about 1/2 a banana. I'm just hoping it's something I can get used to because it's a great healthy/filling breakfast.
  • This is something I identified in my goal. I'm 5'4" and shooting for 120-125, but ultimately, I'm working to get a sub-30" waist with tone...not ripped. I can't say exactly what waist size because the last time I was skinny (not toned) was before my kids, and my hips stayed out after their deliveries. Therefore, sub-30 and…
  • Wow, I'm finally starting after my depression. I gained 35 lbs in less than a year in 2015, it's taken me 2 years to get to a point I can get myself to concentrate on my weight loss. Congrats to you for being ready much sooner than I was. For me, I started watching Biggest Loser from season one a month or so ago. I finally…
  • 5'4", shooting for 125, but will be happy once my waist is back to sub-30" and I can get a 32" bra on again.
  • I felt that for years...hoping he would be the one to leave. Eventually I told him to pack his crap, he had 24 hours to get out of my house. It's pretty sad when you realize you no longer love your partner and that them cheating would be the best possible thing to happen.
  • Nope, very easy. I did it after years of abuse. Got to be a single parent of two under 10 while battling depression and PTSD from my POS ex. Once you realize you "need" a divorce instead of "want" a divorce, you find a way. ETA: The handsome man in my profile pic is the man who saved me from myself post-divorce.
  • Lol, ugh, trig! Thank you all so much, I was close to ripping my hair out trying to figure it out!
  • THIS! This is exactly why I'm so darn confused! Kimny, that's what it gives me for both -1 lb a week AND -2 lbs a week. I'm 5'4"/160 lbs with a pretty sedentary life due to my job...desk jockey 4x a week for 12 hrs at a time. I'm struggling to get up to my caloric intake requirements, I feel full all the time.
  • Ok, this leads me back to my first question. MFP says 1200 with my stats and goal, but it also has you include exercise into your daily journal. So what number am I looking for? 1200 with exercise included or 1200 without exercise included? Or somewhere in-between? Ex: I eat 1300 calories and burn 350 with exercise, MFP…
  • Ok, so I went in and changed it, and it says 1200...so that's 1200 AFTER exercise? I'm probably overthinking this. Steph
  • Well crap, apparently I've been doing it all wrong. Thanks ladies and gents! Steph
  • Hmm...that seems like too many calories, unless you jogged, it shouldn't have been more than 1000. Even at a 15:15 split walking hills, I only burn about 110 calories per mile. I'm 160 lbs. Steph
  • Hi ladies! I'm a 36 yo mother of two tweens. I just started a group called "Motivating Mamas" if you want to join.
  • Ok ladies, I made a private group for us named "Motivating Mamas", I already invited those of you I am friends with. It'll be a more private place for us to share anything we want and help keep everyone on track.
  • Teri, It seems like we're in similar boats. In addition to my emotional problems, both my boys have severe ADHD and PTSD. Eating/exercising well gets difficult when you're focusing so much on the welfare of your children. I think for us, it will have to be a family lifestyle change...get our kids onboard with the…
  • Hey mamas, What would you ladies say if I made us a group? Steph
  • Ugh, depression is the worst...just drains the life out of you. Steph
  • Hello ladies, I'm a 36 year old mother of two boys, 9 & 10. I'm still trying to get rid of the baby weight (Sam). Long story short, I have depression and PTSD from my abusive ex. I gained 35-40lbs in a year, and struggle to get motivated and get off my butt. I'd LOVE to see 125 on the scale, but ultimately, I'll be happy…
  • Cortney, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I've seen the damage caretaking can do to a body. My mother has spent the last 5 years taking care of my father since his first stroke (5 years this month). She has gained so much weight. Remember, you did what you did for who you loved. Now it's your time to live! My…
