  • Ok, so that makes a lot more sense to me. I was thinking that the calories MFP gave me each day were my calories to eat and that if I wanted to get a deficit, I had to leave some on the table. Then, I was adding exercise as extra deficit. I hadn't realized that a deficit was already figured in the MFP daily calories! I do…
  • @NorthCascades - so I should not have between 400 & 700 remaining each day? Would I lose about a pound a week if I ate the 1660 goal AND the 674 exercise calories from Yesterday? That means I should have really eaten 2334 calories yesterday? More confused now! :(
  • Ok, so I have read this whole thread and I am still confused. I still don't understand the "eating" back your exercise thing. If you are trying to have a deficit, how else would you get it? Seriously I'm not being a smart-alec, I just don't get how I'm supposed to use the numbers MFP gives me. First let me give you my…

  • I completely agree! I would consider myself to be a very good and moral person. I try to always speak kindly - or at least think carefully before saying anything that is unkind. I believe that how you treat others will come back and haunt you sooner or later - some call that Karma, I call that justice. I try to take care…
  • 4legs is right - if you keep a watch over your daily's for a week or so you're going to see trends in you intake calories and your exercise credits. Once you get a good idea of your normal activities, you'll be able to better forecast whether that late snack is ok.
  • pounds in your first month sounds good to me. That's about 1 1/2 pounds a week which sounds like a healthy loss. Don't focus on dieting norms - just focus on what your body does. You're doing great, keep it up!
  • I was a little put off by the shipping waste too - I mean I am not a real eco-girl but i do try to not create excess waste where I can. I have been wanted to try some of the meal programs for a while so I did a bunch of research and I found a company that answers the waste problem! Terra's Kitchen - seems to have very easy…

  • That's exactly how we do it in our gym! If you're worried about the germs, then you should wipe the equipment down before you use it. If not then don't wipe it down. Why would you trust how someone else did it? Most people who do it after just rush though and barely clean it. Personally, I'm not a germaphobe so I don't…
  • LOL - I never really understood why people would complain about other people not wiping down machines. LOL - it's not like anyone ever does a good job of it! If you want to be sure you're not going to catch anything then YOU should wipe down the machine BEFORE you use it - that way you know it was done right. But also, I…
  • I think you are going to find judgers in any gym you go to. But you'll also find supporters in any gym too. The object (in my humble opinion) is to learn the difference and surround yourself with the positive influences while blocking out the negative influences. I mean, I'm way overweight and of course I think some people…
  • Thanks gailowens75! I'm actually going to a really great cross-fit gym, it was recommended to me by my plastic surgeon because he knew they would work in modifications for me since I am still in the my reconstruction phase. I opted to take personal training sessions instead of group classes for the first few weeks (about…
