  • I've done something pretty similar. Avocado is a great mayo substitute. I like to chop my own veggies usually but using pico sounds great. I like some jalapeno or Serrano pepper in mine too
  • Beef is the only thing that fixes mine fast. Once my levels are good I can get by with eating it once or twice a week as long as I have other sources of iron the other days. I've tried only plant based foods and had issues.
  • When I buy a big bag I like to roast it for chips. My favorite spices to use are cumin, cayenne and salt. It goes from soft to crisp fast so as soon as you can see it's browning a little check it more
  • We finished a carton of the recalled eggs the morning the recall was announced. I had gotten really really ill once and thought I picked up a stomach bug. I got nauseous a few times after but was under such incredible stress I thought it was the strain on my body since I can't really eat much when stress is so high.…

  • I cut way back on added sugar to get my calories lower. I was eating a ridiculous amount of candy so it had to be done. Otherwise I don't pay any attention to sugars in foods. I try to eat a well rounded diet within my calorie allowance. Sometimes I have something sweet sometimes I don't. Still losing weight.
  • Sometimes I make a balsamic dressing with switched up ratios than normal. I can go without oil myself but guests like at least some. I do 3 parts balsamic vinegar and 1 part olive oil. Then I toss in dried basil and a little dried oregano, salt and pepper. Have to mix it each time it's used. Only need a little for a punch…
  • I love honey. I use local wildflower honey because the flavor is much stronger so I can use less. I get it at small local owned stores or farmers markets. Seems expensive at $10-12 a jar until you realize how long it can last.
  • I like them spicy with salt and cayenne. Also a taco flavor mix of chili powder, cumin salt and pepper
  • The best pb cookies you'll ever have is 1 cup pb, 1 cup sugar and 1 egg. Mix, drop spoonful on cookie sheet, make crosshatch marks with a fork and bake at 350f for 10ish minutes. I pretty much cook almost everything at 350 and rarely time stuff lol so peek in to see how they look. Just starting to get brown is best. People…
  • Scrambled eggs with some peppers in it and maybe a little sausage or 1 crumpled slice of bacon loaded into a couple warmed up corn tortillas. I toast them a minute or two each side in a hot skillet no oil. Corn tortillas have a lot less calories than flour. Can put cheese too if your calories allow. If super hungry add…
  • A lot of places you can order a side salad and get plain protein on it either burger Patty or piece of grilled chicken- if hungry get 2 protein. I break up the meat. I've noticed I get almost same amount of lettuce and goodies like tomato and carrot etc in some fast food places (Wendy's and mcds) so it comes out cheaper to…
  • Chicken sausages are really good and lower calorie than what I find in other grocery stores. They are in the regular meat section - not frozen. If you have a way to keep stuff frozen then check out the various fish fillets. Their prices pretty good and have several kinds usually. Dolmas, low carb/calorie tortillas that are…
  • No. Calorie deficit is the reason for weight loss. When you work out you can eat a little more. Also working out results in looking better once the weight is off. Maybe cardio isn't the exercise for you. There is yoga. Lifting. Walking. Swimming can be awesome if you have pain involved with exercise.
  • Just start again. You can't go back and change it so let it go. Maybe during your period up your calories to maintenance levels for a couple days so you can eat a little more without worrying. Then go back to deficit again. "Cheat" days derail a lot of people.
  • I don't know if it has been mentioned but you could dehydrate it for later use - does need to be rehydrated. Also could cut it up, blanch it and freeze for later use.
  • I love avocados too. I find mixing in lots of milder chopped veggies helps so I still get several bites of it without massive calories. For guac I mix in more diced tomatoes since they are so yummy with it. Or chopped boiled eggs for a protein punch. My biggest weakness is radish though. I worry I'll eat too much one day…
  • Gummy children vitamins are the only multi I can handle when I'm told I should take something. I've been told it could be fillers that make me ill. I couldn't even do prenatal. Instead I had to make sure I ate very well with variety. I try to stick to that now too
  • Hiking is a major stress reliever for me. I had a bad fall last year on an easy trail and it took months to recover. I am so ready to get back to it. I gained a little and my strength is down but I have a goal to do at least a small easy trail (2 or 3 miles) before end of month. I do other stuff too (light lifting) but…
  • My fibromyalgia pain is eased by more exercise. I think it's worth a try for you. Start easy with walks and if you can then gradually increase distance. I hope it can work for you. Yes whoever mentioned good shoes - yes! If you start getting stabby or sharp foot pains then you need better supportive inserts and/or shoes…
  • I actually forgot about this tea. It's really good and now I want to go get some. :)
  • I bought some super cheap spiralizer that you turn the veggies on a blade that looks like a small food processor disk. I wish I knew the brand (no words on it). Easy to clean should be high on the list for whichever you buy. The one I have has no moving parts. Last night I spiraled a zucchini to make scampi. First I quick…
  • I'm lucky that I don't really care for cookies. Now a Snickers or some other similar type candy bar I cannot stick to a fun size one. My trick is to get regular size bar and freeze it solid. I make sure there's room in my day for the whole thing. When it's frozen I can take tiny bites a lot easier so it lasts quite awhile.…
  • We call it dope-amax here. It really can make you foggy and stupid. I was also on it for migraine. It was years ago and I dropped weight rapidly in the short time I was on it and I was slender then and didn't need to lose. I had an adverse reaction and had to stop using it. Bad reaction enough that I list it in meds I'm…
  • Definitely let it sit out for a few minutes and it changes to creamy ice cream. They have a note about it on the carton with some explanation :)
  • Beef works the best for me. I eat a wide variety of foods to round things out overall, but I have to have beef a couple times a week to keep my iron levels up.
  • I finally found it in a store here. I had the peanut butter kind yesterday and omg I wanted to go buy all of it. Mine had pb swirls throughout. I think the other one I bought is cookie dough. That one I'll have maybe tomorrow. Definitely buying more of the pb. A lot.

  • -String cheese -Small packs deli meat 90-100 cal each already weighed so it's fast -Pickles - then save juice when done & slice cucumbers, cauliflower, peppers onions etc and put them in the juice(might have to add a touch of water to fully cover), let chill in fridge a day or two -awesome quick snack and way cheaper -foil…
  • I love adding a little diced jalapeno sometimes. Sometimes instead of pickles I'll chop fresh cucumber just to give it crunch without the salt or vinegar. I agree with apple suggestions - so yummy and can also make that a bit spicy for something different or add a little peanut butter and touch of vinegar and ginger and…
  • I tend to crave flavor profiles more than specific foods after doing this for awhile. Drive past burger place and start thinking yum so I found ways to make at home and control calories and portion size and same with Mexican food, Greek, Chinese etc. If it's sweets then I look for a lower cal option with similar flavor and…
