Eggs

This is a bit funny. I've always liked eggs. Eaten them scrambled or boiled, in my pancakes, cooking etc. A few weeks back I felt really nauseous immediately after eating scrambled eggs. Still eating in pancakes etc. This morning I had 2 boiled eggs. Got to last mouthful, felt really sick, spat it out, then retched violently for 5 mins. Nausea has gone now (managed to hold most of the food down as have a PT session soon and can't do it on an empty stomach. Anyone else had this?

Wow that is unusual and thank goodness it hasn't happened to me as I adore eggs!

Do you think you have just sickened yourself from eating too many?? just a thought.

Hoping someone else might be able to shed light on this for you.

How thoroughly cooked were the eggs? I eat 1-2 eggs daily and I do remember once, a couple of years ago, that something similar happened to me. At that time I was favoring slightly undercooked scrambled eggs, half-boiled eggs etc, and I felt it was the fact that they were slightly raw which made my stomach upset. I lay off them -unless fully cooked- for awhile and it all got sorted out. Hope this helps!

Were these from the same carton of eggs? If so, might want to throw those out. You could also try a different brand. Eggs are eggs, but they aren’t always as fresh and the chicken’s diet can be different leading to a slightly different nutrient profile and, I’d assume, taste.

I would toss that carton, something may be off with them.

Not sure this applies but there was a big recalls on eggs recently. Make sure yours weren't part of it. I would probably throw those out just to be safe and buy new ones.

Here's an article that lists them. You can also google it for more information.

We finished a carton of the recalled eggs the morning the recall was announced. I had gotten really really ill once and thought I picked up a stomach bug. I got nauseous a few times after but was under such incredible stress I thought it was the strain on my body since I can't really eat much when stress is so high.

Amazing how I never thought it might be the eggs and fooled myself lol.

I'm with the "throw that carton out" people. I'm eating eggs again now just fine. Unless you could be pregnant of course

Thanks all - unfortunately it has been several different cartons of eggs over a couple of months.

Also husband, son and sons various friends and girlfriend have all eaten them with no problems. I have had them scrambled (pretty well cooked), hard boiled and medium boiled.
